Hey I'm new to posting here but not new to android phones and I have got to say I think that the HTC Sensation is a huge let down in alot of areas. Im comig from a heavily modded rooted and unlocked Samsung Vibrant. I find myself regretting purchasing this phone.
HTC Cons
It Freezes alittle too much for a dual core without being rooted and with saying that the premissions have not been messed with.
Its taking a long time for HTC to send the unlock update.
The sorta indestructable glass has allready scratched.
The 4g serice rarely ever comes in and I live in the city.
The Wifi calling is horrible.
Overall not worth getting and I have yet to see a Team Whiskey Rom advertised I may return this phone to T Mobile.
I may just wait and purchase a samsung galaxy s2
I just had high hopes but have been seriously disappointed
Thanks for your stunning insight and valuable contribution to the forum. Did you not watch the video?
I think you should stick around. We got temp root a couple of days ago. I also came from a heavily rooted MT4G, I get the itch all the time. Good things come to those who wait I haven't had any of the problems you mentioned...maybe try exchanging the phone?
Ok...
It bothers me when someone has been around this long and their first and only post is something like this.
Let me guess...no other device has given you any type of issues.
I cant even find the software to unlock the phone.

Posts like this makes me wonder if you even had a " heavy rooted modified Vibrant" WOW!
This post should be removed
I did have a modded Samsunf Vibrant using Team Whiskeys Rom. I sold it on ebay in hopes I was on paper getting a better phone.
TBH after using the Sensation (From a Desire HD) I am also a bit disapointed.
Oh well, there is always HTC nxt phone, which will be running Ice Cream, and will hopefully be an upgrade, not a stopgap like the Sensation.
Good yall don't like the phone ,you can leave now
You had a Samsung Vibrant and you are complaining about the Sensation, SERIOUSLY? You were able to deal with all the issues with the Vibrant and you are unhappy after having the phone for a few weeks, REALLY? I really don't get it when people complain about a phone because the one that they had before was better, especially when all their complains were documented in every single respectable blog (including this one), before the phone came out.
We root our phones because we don't like stock roms, so you have to options: 1. be patient, as you were with your vibrant or 2. return the phone and stop complaining.

Which tp2 version is the same as the tp2 on USCC? I want to get a case but since uscc just got it they don't have cases specifically for uscc. So I'm trying to figure out which one is the same on the other carriers.
It looks like this

Just curious how many other people on here have the tp2 from uscc?
is that us cellular??
USCC TP2
I was told that the Verizon and Sprint version cases will work.
Have not confirmed it yet.
I also have the USCC TP2, LOVE THIS PHONE!!! Currently trying to tweak it to my eye candy.
Have not flashed it yet, but working myself up to it. Will be the first time for me ever flashing. Trying to get as much info before I jump.
My brother has a USCC touch pro 2 and I have the Sprint touch pro 2. I can verify that both of these devices are of the identical size. His has a blue background on the battery cover where as mine has a gold background. He has tested by belt case without any problems. Good luck! They are great phones.

USCC Stock Rom??
Does anyone have the Stock ROM from USCC? I am currently running the NRGPhoton ROM but it would be nice to have the stock ROM if I ever have to take it in to the store for something. I know I should have backed up mine but I literally took it out of the box turned it on, unlocked it and Flashed it. I was way too excited. Anyway, any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
i just got my uscc tp2 after switching from a tp, i notice that they each have something better than the other tp1 much better multitasker memory always registered at only 35% at startup tp2 is at like 55% at startup but still i love it using my old ppc 6800 leather case for my tp2 and it fits like a dream so if have one of those cases try it, it works great, however i notice that the clock for some reason keeps switching itself back to usa eastern time from my central us setting havent figured that out yet. and also opera 9.7b seems to make my phone freeze up and uses all my free ram so i quit using it but iris browser and opera10 work great with it. Opera10 is one of my favs.

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but I have been looking everywhere for the stock ROM for the USCC TP2. The link at this PPCG page is dead, if you connect to their FTP directly and browse the USC file they have is only 67MB and will not extract.
I have dumped the partitions of my stock ROM, if someone can help me with making it into a flashable image I would be more than happy to share.
Just a little story to share:
My Captivate finally reached the repair facility in Texas on Wednesday, this week. Apparently, the back side speaker busted as a result of nothing (???). No sound would come out of it. I didn't drop it, it just stopped working. Anyway,
Free 2-day shipping was provided and didn't have to pay a cent. So far so good. I expect to get my phone back next week.
Anybody else have this problems?
If you are wondering why I sent it to Samsung and not ATT, it's because I didn't want to deal with the insurance company. They wouldn't be happy once they read the IMEI number and check their database That's all Im gonna say.
Yeah, apparently this is a very common issue. My wife's phone was doing that, and now mine is too... we are hesitating on sending them back because neither of us really want to be without our phones for a week...

How do you do that? Call At&T Mobility? How much of a stink did you have to make?
I know att would ve sent me a replacement very fast, but like I said: I wanted to avoided trouble. And that meant I had to go one week without a phone.
This is what happened: Samsung let meet print a label online. I shipped my phone free in 2 day shipping and then it came to them. Their engineers worked on my phone for two days.then it was shipped back on a weekend. Basically it took a week, but I lived.
The phone was cleaned, the speakers were replaced and they look brand new. My usb port was cleaned since it was filled with dust.
Plus, I was given neat box and a 20 off coupon. Overall, it was amazing.
Samsung rocks!
(now I only need 2.2....)

I read within couple of months of November, so January.
If I know AT&T, it'll be months after the "official" Nougat update for the LG-V10. Better to just assume it won't come, then when (and if) it does it'll be a great surprise
I'd rather have an unlocked bootloader, but that doesn't seem to happen anytime soon either.
Still no way to get root?

I thought I saw one thread with a rooted TOT, but I am not expert in this.
What the best way to backup and restore ? ADB?
LG is supposed to get it to the carriers some time in February, and knowing at&t it could be an upwards of 4 months before its released to us, so id say between April and July 2017.

If you are on lollipop, you can root and use titanium backup. And if you are on Marshmallow or have no root, you can use Helium android and desktop app in order to backup and restore.

Out of curiosity, is the battery life better on the V20?
Also, is there a consensus on the best extended battery case for the v10?

This is a great battery / case. I have it and it works great. I would recommend a separate charger if you can because it seems the phone stops charging the battery when it hits 3,000 milliamps. So to fully charge the battery it seems better to use an external charger.

A big update from AT&T is rolling out right now. My phone is now optimizing, so we'll see what it is shortly. Anyone see it yet?
Yeah, I just got the notification. Didn't see the size though. Accidentally dismissed it. What is it?
Nope - still 6.0, with a security update.
...the update specifically states it's a carrier update
When hell freezes over! AT&T wants you to buy the V20, hopefully someone can port it to us.
I have a Verizon Pixel XL that I was able to unlock with DePixel8 back in the day but it's really become just more of a hassle having it unlocked and constantly dealing with OTA updates and worrying about flashing TWRP or just the hassle of it all in general.. I'd rather just let my phone do it's own thing without having to mess with it and especially since I'll eventually get a yearly upgrade I wanna be able to trade it in and get a newer phone someday.
Can anyone give me step by step on what to do so I can get it back to stock and locked boot loader again.
I'm currently on Android Oreo 8.0.0... idk if this changes anything? I know TWRP isn't working 100% or so it seemed when I looked at the Oreo thread earlier.
Can I just download the factory stock image and run the flash-all.bat? or do I need to fastboot boot twrp.img and wipe the system n everything 1st? also can someone tell me which image is the original stock image??
I see 7.1.0 (NDE63V, Nov 2016)
but I also see 7.1.0 (Verizon, NDE63X, Nov 2016)
I'm guessing I use the Verizon one? but I remember somewhere someone saying to use the one with the V at the end so how do I know which one to use for stock image?
There are probably some folks around here that would feel inclined to ship you a stock Verizon Pixel XL plus a couple bucks if they had the opportunity they missed to depixel8. If it were just the regular Pixel, I'd be all over it. Stock pixel is fantastic and by far my favorite phone I've ever owned, but there is an itch I can't scratch with it being locked.

The Oreo update for the H918 (T-Mobile) came out a few weeks ago.
Yeah, forgive me, I've been keeping my eyes out for updates on the T-MOBILE update and I knew it was coming but hadn't seen anything. I haven't really been watching the forums where I would have seen the posts about it.

i bought my V20 (H910) when I was still with at&t. Will I get the update, or will I have to somehow do it manually? Does my phone care about the difference? Does TMobile?

AT&T only sends updates over the air, and only if you are a current customer on their network (yea, super d**ks).
If you want to update your phone, you will have to root it. You don't have to STAY rooted, you can flash a stock Oreo zip.
Of course, this wipes your phone as well...

That's a great, detailed answer, thanks.
I'm interested in doing that, a few apps, specifically Spotify has been working poorly since Oreo rolled out for the v20, and I'm not sure if it's related.
I'm not 100% up to speed with this higher level android tomfoolery, I've flashed a new kernel to a Nexus7 for a car install, but that's it. Could I ask an extra favor, for you to link me to a good how-to on getting my h910 running Oreo? Some of the other writeups seem to be different variations. I must use the att software, regardless of my current carrier, right?
Rooting is no longer a point and click affair.

Thanks, I had read that post, and before talking to you, I wasn't 100% sure that it applied to my phone being on T Mobile now.
After giving it a closer read, that sounds like the kind of thing I'd try if I didn't depend on my phone as heavily as I do, or if I had a spare handy. just a tad too much ambiguity and the stakes are too high for my current life situation today.
Thanks again though, you thoroughly and clearly answered my question.
