Got it.
The name of the audio file is hwandsw.wav this is a wav file. So what you need to do is go into the windows folder and delete the file. Now take whatever .wav file you want (realize you need a really really short one) like a half a second. Rename it hwandsw.wav place it in the windows folder, soft reset and voila. It worked for me and should you also.
I would recommend making a copy of the original, so you can restore it later if you want.
Man I am having to much fun with this, now every time I touch screen or any buttons my phone farts.
Somehow this doesnt work to me, i exchanged the file with another sound and iam still getting the old clicky taping sound (after soft reset ofc).
When i checked the original wave file it doesnt sound like the taping sound, is it really the correct file?
Doesn't work for me either... doesn't change sound

It's probaly in use, did you disable the sounds before trying? If so use a 3rd part file explorer that ignores permissions.
does not work for me either

I tried to delete or rename the file (usine TC) but unsuccessful. Then I tried to copy a wav file renamed as hwandsw.wav into \windows - successfull. Soft reset. But the sound did not change... Still the original sound. Then I deleted the (copied) hwandsw.wav in \windows - the original hwandsw.wav file in ROM appeared.
Any advise.. ?

Ok try this. Let me know if it doesn't work. The file was supposed to be named hwandsw.wav correct?

This is how it went....(event sequence)
1) Disabled screen tap sound -> no sound on screen tap
2) Installed .cab file, successful, soft reset.
3) Enabled screen tap sound - > gives default sound (not the new sound intended)
4) Checked file properties using TC - file did not reside in ROM. Copied file to another folder and play using media player - > gives sound intended.
5) Delete file in \windows -> the default hwandsw.wav appeared (properties showed reside in ROM)
Possibilities:
1) The file did not overwrite the default in ROM
2) The wrong file was targeted (for the screen tap).
Good learning event though.

It was probably the wrong file name, I was just using the name posted here in this thread. If you find the correct name I'll try again.

I tried putting a new sound file as Menupop.wav into \windows (as suggested in a ppcgeeks forum) .. still no change.
dwizzy130, if it isn't too much requesting, may be you can help make a cab of file I posted as Menupop.wav. TQ

Hi,
Mny of these ROMs are awesome, however, one common issue I have is that the phone sound is a littele low. To fix this, on some ROMs like RRE, I can replace the flashed AudioPara3.csv version with a "hacked" version of the AudioPara3.csv.
Apparently though for the At0M ROM, Energy ROM, I cannot change the file attributed that allow this AudioPara3.csv file to be replaced, using TC file manager, I can edit the arhs values, but NOT the IN ROM setting.
So, am I doing somehting wrong with this AudioPara3.csv file or is it possible the ROM cooks to make the AudioPara3.csv NOT in ROM so I can edit the attributes that will allow it's replacement.
Thanks,
Mike
i've used both of these roms and im still using the latter, i've had absolutely no problems copying a newer hacked file and overwriting the one inside the rom.
try my cab and see if it works for you, it includes the audioPara3 that i find comfortable using, i believe it's the original stock one.
I still think the sound in my ROM is not loud enough, anybody got a csv file that's REAAAALLLY loud ? I want it to blow my ear off....

here you go, my collection(I did not create the files )
3 folders named by volume level.
I always use the loudest+distortion and turn down the volume.
notice it's a RAR, just remove the ".cab" ending
help
ok so i got the htc touch pro and the preset callvolume is way too low unless i turn on speakephone....I have downloaded the audiopara3 file and unzipped it...how do i get it to my phone? do I just drag it to my mobile device
copy it into the Windows folder on your phone and it will overwrite the existing one. You can always copy the existing one into another folder in case you wanna go back
You can catch mine i think it's the best one

I cannot copy the new audiopara3 file to my Fuze because the old file on the Fuze is read only and will not allow the new file to overwrite it. Any suggestions?
How do I install an RAR file?

You don't take .cab off the end so it will be volume.rar unzip it now you have the files you need and follow directions above to overwrite.

I know I'm necro-posting here; but I can live with that
Your AudioPara3 was the only one that really worked on my Fuze. Thanks very much.
Hey there
I flashed CyanogenMod's ROM 3.6.8 release 4 that's been ported to 32B devices, and I love the ROM, only problem is
There's no range of sounds, it only has the default ringer, default notification sound, and default alarm sound.
Essentially I want to extract the sound files from the nandroid backup I did of my original ROM, since I cant find any source for these files. However I've been searching and call me dumb, but I've been unable to find any information on how to do this (extracting files from a ROM image)
Could someone perhaps...point me in the right direction, or give me some tips pleeeaaasee
Download the tunes you would like and put into a folder named ringtones in your sdcard,Then use a file explorer and set as ringtone?

You can use this utility: http://code.google.com/p/unyaffs/downloads/list
The ringtones that come with your phone are in the system.img under /system/media/audio/ringtones
Hope that helps.
unyaffs does not work on the recovery images, why is that?

- Download DOWNLOAD RLS12 Themed All Languages
- Here is the file androidinstall.tgz
- Install the program 7-zip and open the *. tgz file. Now you can view and decompress the file androidinstall.tar that is what you need.
This is because they do a double compression the original file.
