How can I view animated mms with my nexus s? Can this be done with the default message app or do I need to install a 3rd party app?
Does anyone not have this problem? I know if I run a MIUI rom the default message app allows of playing of animated gifs/mms. But with CM7 the defaul messenger app just shows a static image when I receive an mms. If I install handset messenger app it allows me to view animated pics fine but I was wondering if I can get the same functionally with out needing a third party app?

ive just installed handcent sms (could be any particular messages app) and i want to use handcent instead of the optimus 3d's original sms app. i turned off notifications of the original sms app, however, the quick launch bar will still show a "1" if a new sms comes in, AND it also starts the original sms app.
i would like to have the quick launch bar sms symbol start the handcent sms app instead of the original app. is there any way to do that?

Do a backup then delete the messaging apk from the system/app folder. Can't remember what it's called though. it'll most likely have a messaging icon.
then set handcent as the default and restart your phone. worked on my last android phone so should work on the O3D
that did not work. after renaming the messaing apk from systemapp folder, the home launcher crasher. afterwards the messaging symbol in the quick starter was gone, however, no way it got replaced by handcent (tried rebooting, setting as standard).
now i renamed the messaging apk to its original name again but still the quick starter place for messages is empty.
i think this means there is a config file for the quick starter somewhere, that says which apk at which position. after the home screen detected that some apk was missing, it removed it from that config file. we need to look for that file.
try to freeze the messanging apk with AntTek app manager, don't uninstall...just freeze it
do that in Handcent SMS
setting -> application setting
1 - Root your phone if its not rooted
2 - Download Root Uninstaller
3 - Backup Messaging aka mms.apk and Messaging Widget aka messagewidget.apk ( both are in green as the message icon )
4 - Unintall both of them ....

So I have a launcher with a set "Messaging" button on my tablet, but when I click it, it says no sms application found, I would like to force this icon to use Voxer but the app itself will not allow customizations, can I force the default sms app to something thats not an sms app?

I want to use DW contacts and phone App as my default dialer.
I installed the app but how to make this the default dialer app.
I looked into Application Manager under the ALL tab, and managed to remove the dialer app as default, but then couldn't see where to make DW dialer, as the default app.
I've searched for hours.
The only current solution is to put the DW dialer icon on the edge panel and remove the default one. But I can't seem to get the Dialer icon on the bottom left of the display to link to DW dialer, meaning setting DW as the default dialer. Every time i press the icon only the default android/samsung dialer comes up.
Anyone know where/how to edit the app drawer shortcuts?
Maybe I will root again and try to do this and edit some setting in the system. ie build.prop ? (I haven't re-rooted since installing stock lollipop) Or is there another way?

All 3rd party dialers use the stock samsung dialer as their base.
You can only choose the stock dialer or skype as the default when making or receiving a call.
Is there any mod anyone has heard about to flash the stock dark themed JB dialer?
I hate the stupid white UI of the KK and LP dialers.
I am just wondering if there is a way to change the font size on Messenger (Google's SMS app)?
