Quick question guys, when I installed the CM7 RC1 rom, I went to go install my apps I'd placed onto my SD card...but when I went into astro file manager, it said "error creating cache" and showed nothing in my SD card folder. But if I revert back to my original restore of my backup I made of the stock ROM, everything shows up just fine in Astro.
I did a search but maybe searched in the wrong areas? Cause I came up with nothing. What's going on? I know I have like 6GB of internal memory, why is it not showing up with I install CM7, but fine when I'm on the stock rom?
This is how I fixed the issue. Just flash the zip file and you will be good to go.

Alright given the issues with Infused V2 and all the craziness on GTG's ROM thread and the fact that I have been having some serious issues with V 2.0.0 since installing it I decided to go back to stock. I accomplished that without issue. I then rooted because I could not remember how to load one of the recoveries that was already rooted.....??? Anyway I got it rooted no problem. I have copied the 3E recovery file into the /system/bin directory while renaming the original recovery file using Root Explorer. I have downloaded ROM Manager after a lot of frustration because the market didn't want to download it even though I purchased it previously. I ran the Clockwork mod, Galaxy I9000 chosen. I ran it twice and I end up with Green Recovery screen not the Red CWM?? If I reboot and try to get back into Red CWM I end up back in the blue Recovery. So what the heck am I missing or not doing right? Can I just use ROM Manager to install from SD and put the 1.5.3 zip on the internal sd and get back to some Infused goodness????
I tried loading it from ROM Manager but it reboots into blue recovery and I get an error message.
E:Can't open /cache/update.zip ????
I think I remember something about this before do I have to delete cache data and then try again???
Try refuse 1.7 it works just as good as infused

I had the same thing...I think. I was on gb, restored back to stock, noticed gtg's links were down so I desided to use my sdcard. I can't remember if I was blue or green to start but it wasn't red. I installed my froyo infused rom which brought me to red. I then flashed my saved gb rom thru sdcard but it was all messed up, had all the rainbows again even tho it was the stable version and I wasn't able to enter recovery from power button. I guess it was because I didn't do a wipe before flashing. I ended up doing a factory reset after because I couldn't download from the market or use gtalk (set fixed it) but I lost all my saved data.

Thanks for the reply. I got it all sorted out by using the green recovery and flashing the 1.5.3 zip. Everything is cool now I used TBU to restore my apps and data and that went perfect. The only hitch was the internal SD Card still had a bunch of old stuff on it so I decided to format it which was good but also bad because i had my work timesheet on the internal SD card..... I thought I had saved it on the external SD card but it was on the internal. So I lost last weeks timesheet which isn't the end of the world but the boss isn't going to be too pleased. He is the one that got me doing my timesheets on my phone in the first place so he is partly to blame. I have taken steps to not have that happen again by moving everything to the external SD card. What a nightmare. Took me all day to get back to 1.5.3 and I was very careful to backup everything manually so i didn't lose anything unfortunately I did not realize that my timesheet was on the internal storage. Oh well live and learn.

email your timesheet to yourself each day...then you have a backup
Not a bad idea but never had to worry about it before as it was always on the external storage on my Blackberry. But this new Android stuff is a little different than the crappy Blackberry. I have moved everything to the external SD card now so when I open something in Docs to Go it will definitely be from the external storage not the internal and i may just start emailing as well just to be safe.

I have rooted my htc inspire 4g with attn1's ace hack kit v12.3, I have placed a few rom zips on the sd card from my computer then I enter hboot, recovery, but when i try to install a rom from sd card i cant find the roms. Any help?
Are you selecting install zip from sd card? If the ROMS are on the root of the sd card they should be there in plain site.
Yes I'm selecting install from sd card but I dont see the roms anywhere.
Maybe a bad microsd card? Have you tried others?
I havent tried another sd card, but a friend said maybe soft-brick? I tried "flash cloclworkmod recovery" and it said "error while downloading from server. please make sure you have a stable internet connection, and that your sd card is inserted and has free space" wifi is connected and browser does not work either. I also flashed to stock att radio when using attn1's ace hack kit v12.3
Sounds like a bad sdcard. Try reformatting it. Get what data you can off it, if any.
That or try putting a rooted stock ROM on your SDCARD. See if the bootloader can see it. If it does... Let it load and you'll have a fully stock rooted rom with the latest updates. There's a couple threads floating around here with the download. Be sure it's named PD98IMG.zip or the bootloader won't find it. Then get Rom Manager from the market and see if it will flash CWM Recovery.
It could be something didn't quite go right while rooting.

I found one if you still need it.

I fixed it, thanks to attn1 and anthony1s, I overlooked when I put the zip files on my sd card, I put .lnk files instead the actual .zip file. So I deleted the shortcuts and used the .zip files and am now good to go. This thread can be closed, my problem is resolved.
Hey guys, I have looked all over and cant find an answer...
I am running the most current (4/23) version of the cm9 rom, but i cant get my infuse to "recognize/or/find" my external 32gb sd card... it finds my internal 16 gb no problem, i have also swapped it out for my 16gb card and its still a no-go...
what do i have to do / change to get it to show up? im needing to get to my music because my daily drives of 14+ hours are getting a bit tedious...
if you could in full detail tell me where the file to edit is and what needs to be changed it would be awesome!
thanks in advance and if this has been posted i apologize i must have missed seeing it...
also running 4/23 built and it reads mine no problems,, bad flash?
I'm thinking its possably something to do with a lib file as both clicking on external SD and internal SD both go to the internal SD... using astro file manager I can see both fine... but not when I use a stock app... *shrug* I also can't afford to try and reinstall it as I'm no where near home for the next 5 days either and if I screw up I'm without a phone...

you can try flashing it over and see if that helps, this time use fix permission and it could also be a bad download, what i would do is re-download, go back to phone stock , and while you're there factory reset the phone( back up all your other data ) , flash kernels to get red cmw ( entropy DD ) and then flash latest cm9
I recently installed a 64gb. I had to go back to stock to get it recognized. Then when I reinstalled CM9, I found it under /mnt/emmc.

Go to the themes and apps forum - See Axiomkids mods and tweaks for this build. Go to number 5 in the OP. Although it says it won't recognize the external sd it does for my phone . I only have an 8 gb card, don't know if that makes a difference. Hope this helps. Edit- Here's the link. I used the1.1.4 version. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1389375
Thanks... phone can find it now... but music and video apps still don't "see" it..
Is there a "string" (?) command i can use in the terminal console to change where its looking...
seems to be finding the "external SD" folder but not the actual card...
Seems very odd to me cause both when i flashed back, googles' stock apps found it, and as well as the cm 7.2.0 release found the external sd card in the right spot.
Now flashing cm 9.0 (05/02/12) it finds the external sd folder on the internal sd, but still doesn't find the external sd...

thanks for that, i have just gone completely stock, then rooted, flashed cm7, now back to cm 9, and still nothing. yet cm7 and stock can find all the music n videos on my external sd fine with the native built-in music/video apps... once i install cm9 they don't "see" it or recognize it... tho when i go thru astro file manager i can see it just fine... *shrug*
Google Play Music did not find my songs despite following their instructions. Winamp & the music player did.
So did Album Art Grabber.

Did a clean install and wiped twice everything I could via cwm recovery... seems to be fine now - took me 3 hours to get back to a working stock... think my phone doesn't like the stock now after being on cm lol... anyways its working fine now... thanks to you guys on all your input... found it was a bad micro sd format when I formatted it (micro sd) from cm recovery the first time I installed cm9 on entropys first build... :banghead: shoulda thought of that earlier...

So I finally got the courage to flash a rom after dealing with an extremely sluggish Vibrant for over a year. I flashed the rom and everything was good, then I tried to get all my music on the phone. I couldn't get it on the external 16gb sd card so I figured I needed to format the card. I went into settings and It only gave me the option to format one of them, under SD card "format" wasn't even selectable. So I format the one I could and now notice a lot of missing folders. All that is left is albumthumbs, android, dcim, lost.dir, external_sd.
I'm not sure what I deleted but the phone still works fine.
What do you recommend I do? Should I odin back to stock and then load it again?
U should flash rom again

Thanks for the response. That is what I figured.
Flash ROM again OR attempt recovery using a recovery tool

You could also connect your phone into mass storage mode to the computer and attempt a recovery using one of the many available tools if you had important information on the internal SD.
Cheers,
Stefan.
Ok..so I've been using HTC explorer for 2-3 months and everything was going fine but the low internal memory kept bugging me so I rooted the phone (i delayed rooting because it voids warranty..)..I deleted the pre installed apps and all other unnecessary crap..but the internal memory was still low so I went for factory reset..:|..and thats how you get into bootloop but searching for solutions..i found that my problem can be solved by flashing new rom..so I downloaded 1 and flashed it (yes i followed all the steps like creating ext4 partition and wiping cache etc).. but suddenly 'can't open /sdcard/*rom*.zip (bad)' popped up..so I went through the forums but didn't found any approved solution but suggestions like re downloading the rom..or checking if signature verification is off or flashing any other rom..i tried all of them..i retried re downloading the rom..I tried flashing cm 9..explode^1..Jaggyrom..even the stock rom but nothing positive happened..I am clueless..Please Help...
What recovery did you flashed, another thing, try with another sd card, or repartiotion this one through recovery after that get some rom on it. If you have a card reader, check if the card is ok.
And don't rename zip's live them with their original names.

i flashed with A310e recovery...and the card is fine..I read somewhere to format the card with sdformatter and flash the rom from there and create the partition after the rom has booted..so i am trying that..I'll update you..thnx for reply btw.. :highfive:
Try installing CM10 Beta 2 on a clean, unformatted sd.
If that doesn't work, change your recovery.
Working fine
everything's alrite now..the thing that was causing the problem was the partitioned sd card...I removed partition and then flashed it and everything went well...
