Lock phone while watching video!!! - Samsung Infuse 4G

This may seem like something small to some but this is a huge feature in this phone that I was not aware of and noticed a lot of people I knew were not aware of.
With our infuse if you are watching a video you can press the power button on the side of the phone and it will lock the screen completely, you can't hit the menu or hit home by accident or anything. I have 3 kids and I couldn't tell you how many times they "accidently' backed out of the video player and either moved apps around or called people or what. So if this helps even 1 other person it was worth it. Enjoy!!!

thanks for the tip!
but dont try this if you watching porno, you cant turn down the volume or go back to home screen quickly. haha

soooo true, thats also why I love my mac, four finger swype up, everything gone, LOL

What an awesome find! Thank you. How many times haven't I handed my Infuse over to show a video and something gets pushed in the hand off?!?!

Thanks for the great tip. One thing I found though is this works with the standard video player but not with Real Player.

This also works while video recording btw.

It also works on the camera. I dont understand why though. If you have the camera open, why would you want to lock the screen so it stays there keeping the screen on. Im sure theres a good reason, im just not aware of it

now i wish they would add like double tap the power button would like it at anytime. Like when your playing a game or browsing so you don't "accidently" send yourself home like I do all the time lol. But this is a start

Screen Capture..the easy way.

I just saw on Engadget that if you hold down the Power/Lock button and the home button it takes a screen capture. It also puts it right there in your gallery. If this has been already posted sorry but thought I would pass it on.
Yea there is a thread about it in the apps section but thanks works like a charm, wanted to show off my benchmarks to friends.

Maybe I made a wrong question. When you hold the phone on hand and you move it from left to right, objects on screen remain alligned with the floor. It's quite annoyng and it doesn't work as well....

The home screen tilts if I move the phone. I hate thing thing!
any chance of a vid or photo of this? I've never known anything like that before.
from what i gather, he's saying that the software image is staying aligned with the horizon when he moves his phone. so if he tilts his phone at 45 degrees, sense will still be in line with the horizon, where as you or I would need to tilt our heads at 45 degrees to see it aligned properly....get it?

two days ago i tested on the dhd a coocked rom, Rmix i think, that came with sense 3.0. It has the same thing, that I assume is a standard feature of the sense. I cannot believe you don't see it. Try to move the phone from left to right in the home screen: I can see the edge of the clock, in the meteo widget you see the moon or the sun in 3d. At a first sight it's amazing, but now, when i switch on the phone the screen is not aligned.....

Lockscreen Response FIX!

So I have been reading on all the "problems" that this device has, and I've stayed pretty quiet about all the griping over minor things. (coming from the Vibrant and the G2X makes me pretty resilient to "bugs".
Sadly no one ever really talked about how it is a software problem. Everyone wanted it to be hardware related even though the touchscreen works for every other app.
(hops off soapbox)
Here's the fix, it's quite simple.
1) go to HTC hub and download a new theme (mine was music lover)
2) apply the theme
3) reboot phone
4) pull the ring to unlock
5) go back to XDA and hit the thanks button
I've replaced mine so I don't have it right now.
Unresponsiveness is not just lockscreen issue. It was effecting every apps on mine. I couldn't type, get carousel effect etc. Does this solve all of these?

Looks like you didn't read carrefully As I said I've replaced mine so I don't have this issue on my new device. That means I can't test this.
I never had unresponsiveness in any other app. Maybe I just got a perfect Sensation... well almost perfect (s-on)
Mine is so damn responsive, sometimes when I scroll the application drawer a little bit it opens an application

I saw the 'unresonponsive' threads, and was somehwat amused, since my screen appears to behave normally...but for the heck of it, I tried the carousel, and could NOT get it to rotate fast AT ALL! Other regular nav/touches worked fine. I just tried this 'fix', and can now get fast rotation on carousel easily! It was worth clearing defaults (LancherPro) and playing with it to get this 'fix' working. Now, back to LPro!

I posted this on another thread but I noticed that if you swipe really fast on one screen, without moving between home screens, it will always spin.
Just swipe really fast.

Can you just apply one of the themes already on the phone? busted did not work, no thanks here. Just dloaded and installed music lover, no go. Who said the problem works in every other app? mine does not. Anywhere you try to swipe/scroll. home screens, contacts, pictures, LOCK RING, fruit ninja.. registers as a touch( a lot of touches) instead of a swipe. I dont think a software update will fix it. If it would then it should work when i restore phone to factory defaults, it does not, yet it worked fine at those same settings when it was new.

That is the problem! lol that is NON responsive. Swipes are not registering as swipes, instead registers as a tap. Thats why an app opens. I open an app almost every time i try to scroll through the app drawer. NOT how it should be.

Why you always gottqa be freaking negative? Even on the fre3vo thread you freaking out on people. I tested this on mine, 1 swipe and the carousel appears.

I have to agree this did make a difference in the 3D carousel spinning. I don't know about other issues as I have not had them yet.

Ok let me be positive and see if that helps. brb.. Nope, still no carousel. All i did was inform you that what you think is actually good, is in fact one of the issues. Our sensations should not be opening apps when swiping. My evo didnt, my N1 didnt, my iphone didnt, but the newest latest and greatest device does. I have a right to be negative. Sorry if i offended you.

[Q] Screen shot app that works?

I have been using Screenshot by Kastor Soft for a while now. However, it doesn't seem to work on my new Mini. When it takes a picture, the picture is blank. :crying:
Can anyone recommend a screen shot app that is known to work with the new Motorola's?

Wow, it does. Never knew about that. Thanks. :highfive:
I guess I usually fall asleep before reaching page 74 in the manual.

[APP][2.2+] Awake/Sleep Volume Adjuster

When your phone is in your pocket, full volume notifications are necessary if you don't want to miss a message. But when you already have your phone out and unlocked, there's no need for them to be loud and annoying, especially if you're already using the app they originate from (e.g. message apps).
Awake/Sleep Volume Adjuster lets you set custom notification volume levels for when your phone is asleep and when it's awake.
This is my first app, so I apologize for any issues it may have, but I hope people will find it useful. Either way, it's been nice to have just for myself!

Very useful app. Thank you!
Does this effect battery life at all? This is a great idea for an application. I hate when I almost crap my pants from a notification being too loud! I hope this app does well and has many more updates in the future.

I have an HTC Evo Design 4G which has atrocious battery life (carry around a spare in my wallet) and haven't noticed any decrease. I regularly check the battery use because I have to watch for things eating it up and it hasn't shown up yet!

Great and very usefull app Thanks for sharing
I've got a problem, when someone calls me, and my phone isn't in my pocket, but I'm not using it either, the screen turns on, so the phone goes vibrate mode, I don't know if can be fixed. Great app btw.

Damn! I never actually use my phone as a phone so that never crossed my mind. I'll look into it changing it, but right now the app simply works on whether the screen is lit up or not. Thanks for the heads up!
