Hey all,
I heard that facebook updated and stupidly I uninstalled my previous version and thought I would just install the new version (1.6)... Well the new version isn't compatible with my Xoom. Does anybody have the Facebook APK? Or a link?

Thank you so much, I was about to do a nandroid restore to my last ROM since all of the sudden I was having issues with my new one (Kings Alliance) Facebook was the big problem, I tried to uninstall and then it would not reinstall at all. Trying to fix that I have fudged other things up but hopefully I can fix those and not have to do a wipe - find it to be such a pain to redo everything all over again. I finally have it where I want it and now trying to get it back to normal then I will do the nandroid.
Thanks for the link

I rooted the phone and flashed the ROM. I am looking to get Android market and figure out how to sync my contacts with GMAIL. I am very new to this and actually didn't really want to do it, but why not. I need all kinds of help.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Tony
The best advice I can give you, being pretty new myself, is to search the forum every question has been asked 12 times atleast. And the people here are extremely helpful. From my knowledge I would search for a Google addons zip and flash it. But I could be wrong.

Make sure you keep the gapps file for future use. ROMS built from source cannot have googles proprietary files included.

I normally backup all the apps I purchase with a Root File Manager, and when I bought Cut The Rope, and backed it up, I flashed a new ROM, and I was unable to reinstall it from the Market! It kept saying "Download Declined". I had to uninstall the new Market to get it to work.

I'm not telling people that there's a new market, I'm telling them about the security on the Market...
MarketEnabler doesn't work with the new market too.

Help please. I made a bonehead move. I downloaded and installed the leaked ICS Gmail apk on my 4G Xoom a few days ago. The bonehead part was that I didn't backup the original. I now want to go back to the one I had on 3.2.2 and I can't find it. Can someone point me to one, or post one?
TIA!

Nope, that doesn't work. Gmail does not show up in the market. Pretty much everything else from Google does, but not Gmail.

Darn it...I think only Sense can download GMail from market.
Ill see if i can upload the apk. Would that violate rules though?
Check your system apps folder if you have it there and reinstall it that way.
It should be there unless you deleted the file manually.

It was a specific version that I cant find on the amazon appstore.
It recognized my kindle, well being on the android marketplace i updated it and didnt have a backup.
Does anyone have the stock apk for Amazon Kindle App? (before rooting)
No need. I did the same a few days ago. Just go to your Settings and and go to your apps. You have the option to uninstall the update for Kindle but not the app itself. Once you ininstall the update all is well again.

this probably would have worked had I not uninstalled it from titanium backup, I fear I may have to just reinstall the ROM

Rooting, doesn't change the app.
See PM.
You should be able to just use the latest one from the market without any issues.

this is inacurrate, if u update from android market it doesnt detect your device as a kindle fire, in the kindle app, or it didnt detect mine as a fire and it said that "Maximum PC" can only be downloaded by Kindle Fire.
Nobody else may have seen this and I haven't read my PM, rooting my device DIDNT change the app, but rooting it, installing android market, and updating the app changed it, when I got the error of it not detecting my fire I deleted the APP thinking kindle would have a copy of it still, and it removed it.
to fix this I just went to amazons software update page, downloaded 6.2***.bin and put it in my kindle update folder and manually reloaded the rom. Worked like a charm.
Ill see PM and respond accordingly.
check http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1348782&highlight=system+dump It is something like kindleforotter.apk. copy that to /system/app and chmod to 755 or rw-r--r-- if you use root explorer. I had to do the same thing a few weeks ago.

I updated from android market and it's working fine, no problems what-so-ever.
I also did the update from google market and it works. I like it better I can now launch my books from go launcher. No more looking at the stock launcher at all.
Glad to see it's working for you guys, maybe I just had a hickup. I panicked and deleted it and redownloaded the whole app tho too, and thats when I realized it didnt work. Regardless It's running now. Thanks everyone for input.

I know exactly what you're asking, and it boggles me that no one could do you the simple favor of going to /system/app and uploading their version of kindle... Instead offering pointless advice to use the market version, which you clearly pointed out had a limitation you didn't want. I also deleted the original version that came with my kindle or I would have uploaded it for you. I still don't have a copy and would greatly appreciate it if you could do me the favor of uploading it now that you've restored it on your kindle? Thanks in advance!

I too thought it was pretty apparent that's what he was asking for. The market version is substantially different from the default system app.
