Google+ + invite + Android app = super frustrated....... - Thunderbolt General

Google+ + invite + Android app = super frustrated.......
Invite this morning (thanks Anthonyh90) and have the app but still no love from The Google....
Hmmm....
Any ideas appreciated more tba you know. For Reals.
Why does The Google tease us like this every time. I leapt on Buzz, and Wave, and was a big supporter of each. And still The Google leaves me wanting and out in the cold.
Also, I hope folks realize that I am frustrated and mostly joking here until the Masters and Mistresses of The Google approve/activate/whatever my lil invitation.

gotta love google for that.
Just like google music beta. I got an invite but my wife didn't and she can't access our music with her gmail account...
Went with amazon cloud player instead. All 4 of us can access that.

I got mine to a few days ago,
You just gotta update your music to music beta,
And restart the program, it'll prompt you to connect to the online data base
Yep you just need to install the music beta app, mine already had it, so just needed to go to settings and link my google account, it works like a charm, dont really use my transformer as a music device, so its nice being able to stream my music, i hope the service stays free.

Google Music Beta-Deauthorize

just for information for everyone using Google Music Beta. I came across this problem myself and thought I would share what I found with others. Post by VoidedSaint
If you are a google beta music tester, and you have flashed multiple roms on your phone and when you try to stream music from google, and you get the you have authorized blah blah blah deauthorize an account to use this service.
Google music beta has a certain number of accounts that are associated with Google Music Beta
it allows only 8
once you have reached 8 you have to go to the website to deactivate a several accounts.
now for instance this is what i found was my issue
open google music on my phone, no file could be played because it said i had too many accounts linked to my google music, i instantly thought wtf! is google giving away information that allows others to connect to my music?
so i go on to google music beta, go under settings to see what is connected to it
nick-pc
Motorola DROIDX
Motorola DROIDX
Motorola DROIDX
Motorola DROIDX
Motorola DROIDX
Motorola DROIDX
Motorola DROIDX
all within 1 to 2 days apart from 1 another
i dont remember because this happened last night that i took care of it, but im going by sheer memory.
i deactivated each Motorola DROIDX account, and reopened google music back on my phone, sure enough i was able to listen to music again.
so in other words
if you flash a new rom, or wipe data/factory reset deactivate your google music on the dx through the web, or else it will continue to build up like mine has. However it may have just been an anomaly for me. But if you have flashed multiple roms and are on Google Music Beta, check to see what is connected to you.
i just figured some of you would want to know this nice little bit of information. Because apparently google music doesnt read esn or s/ns for phones they just recognize the phone and whenever google music is reinstalled, well you get the idea.
I haven't run across this yet but thanks for the awesome heads up! I love having fixes BEFORE I see the issues!

I've had it happen twice
See I flash so much that I often don't make it through a day without 3 or 4 flashes. I don't even use my music beta that often cause I've been groove shark-ing and player pro-ing mostly. My girlfriend thinks I'm an idiot for flashing my phone constantly.
She also says that she's going to pretend to be a smartphone so that I'll pay attention to her hahahaha

Google play will take over Market

Hi all,
Check this out
https://play.google.com/store
Soo... this is the Android Market with a new name (removing "Android") that is meant to be used on all devices, with Android Apps being 3rd in the list of things you can buy. Oh, and they have an iOS app now to slowly siphon their users once they buy stuff.
Also, does anyone know what tablet this is?

Google on Tuesday introduced Google Play, a cloud-based service formed from the merger of Android Market, Google Music, and Google eBookstore. It's Google's take on Apple's iTunes Store, with a dash of iCloud.

I read the article and TBH I still dont get it. Nothing new that I didn't know. Does Google want more people to know about its Market features? I really just dont get what they merged? The market looks the same on my phone as it did before. The market via pc browser didnt change either, so I dont know what the big fuss is.. If someone can explain so my retarded ass gets it that would be much appreciated..

OK, I'm going to give this a shot:
1. "The unified store as an effort to eliminate the hassle of moving files between computers and syncing devices."
2. "Google Play is entirely cloud-based so all your music, movies, books, and apps are stored online, always available to you, and you never have to worry about losing them or moving them again,"
3. Compete with Itune store.
4. The interface maybe similar to Market, but the way they store their content and how you retrieve them and the anywhere/anyplace availability is the key.
Example1 for item 1: You have 1000 songs store on your SD card and you back them up in your PC. 2 days later you down load 20 more songs from the Market but using your PC, now you need to sync these songs to your phone. Nope, not with Google play, all your songs are stored online, you can sync these songs directly to your phone.(eliminate the hassle of moving files between computers and syncing devices.

My music was cloud based. I dont know about movies or books because I never bought so I couldnt tell you. It just seems to me that they are highlighting features that have always been there..

That's the whole idea, it will work for everyone. In your case only music cloud base, other people may have movies or books or what ever. With Google play, it's one place cloud storage. How about other items that I listed??

Google is continuing they're progression. Setting themselves up to be the future one stop shop for communication and entertainment.
I like to watch it unfold but I don't care for how invasive Google will eventually be with our information. In Europe you can send Google a letter asking them for all your history with Google services. One gentleman had 15,000 pages sent to him from Google. Google isn't legally obligated to do so in the US.
I'm done rambling now

if your phone is rooted, it will not allow you to rent movies straight to your phone. I was able to get it start playing when I put the browser into desktop mode on the link it posts, but it just keeps loading. Anyone have any suggestions?
If you are rooted, DO NOT USE GOOGLE PLAY MOVIES.
Google does not allow movies to play on rooted phones, citing licensing issues (though I'm not really sure what having root access has to do with pirating movies).
If you have bought or rented a movie that you haven't watched yet, you can submit a support ticket requesting a refund. I got my refund within a few hours of complaining, so at least they're good about that.
In protest, I will no longer be making any music, movie, or book purchases from Google. I also changed all my privacy settings for my Google account to be least beneficial to Google (ie: no customized ads, etc). I'd like to see all root users that are pissed off by this move do the same. It seems perhaps Google doesn't realize just how many of us there are.

That's been the case since Google allowed movie renting on their store. Honestly, I don't think it's Google's choice. The movie studios probably have a strong voice when it came to this choice. I'm guessing the movie studios believe that if you're rooted, it'd be easier to get passed the DRM they put in place.
I honestly don't care since I don't watch movies from the Play Store. The majority of Android users most likely never root their phones, thus they don't "lose out" on this option.

rooted nook color
my nook color has a rooted sd card which has unlocked my 'reader' to so much more. Google Play marks most applications as incompatible, how can I change to something that Google play see as compatible? Other markets will load apps which work, but lately many apps are only available from Google Play. Suggestions anyone?

This is the Droid Charge forum. The Nook Color forum would be a much better place to ask that question.
I like how Google Play just introduced its first physical product, the GSM Galaxy Nexus. $400 out of contract. Damn.
I paid $300 for the Charge and it isn't even listed on the software update slides leaked recently. I hope Google goes with another company instead of Samsung for their next Nexus phone.
As for the Charge, I still like it, but wish I could add ram and a bigger flashdisk to it.

[APP][2.3+] A New Innovation in Music - Holo Ten Music v2.5

Now one of the Top Twenty New Apps To Try according to AndroidTapp.com
Because of said Top Twenty, a recent review from Droid Horizon and readers like you, Holo Ten Music has reached 150 unique downloads.
Anyone care to screw with my OCD and make it 201?
****Update 06/15/2013****
Holo Ten now has new songs and new features. As prommised 4 weeks ago, every Friday I'll send out new songs and new features to keep it new and exciting for new users and the users who have been there since the begining. So download it for free, what do you have to lose.
mod edit
There's Pandora, Spotify, iHeart Radio, and now Google Music All Access. All of them you have to waste your data streaming the same songs over and over because there are only a few good ones and you just skip the rest. Now There is something new developed by me.
This new app in Music Innovation is called mod edit
Holo Ten is a Gingerbread and up targeted app that plays the top ten songs in the country, and that's it. You download the app, you have all the music, so no streaming. Holo Ten updates weekly so you never get bored with the same old songs. There is no sign ins, no sign ups, just one thing, the music.
Holo Ten is my debut app on the Google Play Store for both phones and tablets.
Thank you fellow <Devs/> and have a good day.

Thank you. I actually just finished updating the app with compressed music files so the app download is smaller. Hope you enjoy the new music experience.
I was wondering why it's was so big

I made it that way so the music download is out of the way. You want the music the minute you have the app that can play it, right? So why not include the music with the app so you don't have to download it later. This integration of music with the app is what makes it work so smoothly and user friendly
Not working
I download the app but when i press play the app close
I am using a Galaxy SIII with UltimaRom
Can you check the app?
Does it crash, if it does send me a report. I am currently running the latest which is 1.2.5 and it works fine on my G Nexus, Nexus 7 and my friend's Optimums L9.
MAKE SURE YOU ARE ON 1.2.5. 1.2.4 had a serious glitch.
I am happy to help with any issues you are having so feel free to also send me screen shots [email protected]
Further testing has shown that Holo Ten Music is currently bug free. And has been for quite some time.

Thanksgiving Help for Non-Technical Senior Citizen

My father is 83 going on 84 years old and he is COMPLETELY Non Technical. He has a flip phone and doesn't want a Smartphone.
Due to his COPD and the COVID-19, most likely he won't be able to join the family (my wife, her parents and myself) for Thanksgiving [emoji884] Dinner.
If possible, however, I'd like to find a way to allow my father to be at least on a video chat so he could see the family.
I thought about setting up my Google Chrome book at his home and calling him via Google Duo.
The problem, however, is that he wouldn't understand how to click on the app to open Google Duo.
So my question is would I be able to setup Google Duo on my Google Chrome book in the morning/early afternoon of Thanksgiving and have the app up and running, then Call-Into the Google Duo app during Thanksgiving [emoji884] dinner without my father having click on anything ?
Additionally if that isn't possible, is there any Video monitoring app I could put on my Google Chrome book and tap into using my Android phone.
If anyone has any ideas, please do let me know.
Very Respectfully,
KCT1975
