I was thinking on how communication in xda could be improved? It is very tedious to refresh the page again and again to see new comments..
So, I wonder if somebody could implement a push notification feature for subscribed threads, it maybe for PC or mobile phones...either or both of them is wonderful
If u guys would also like to see this feature...keep commenting below in order to keep this thread at the top so that somebody notices it.
EDIT: I dont know if it's the wrong section..if it is pls tell me I'll switch to appropriate section..

Hi -- who knows if a dedicated Shadow forum will be added here, so for now I created one at a freebie forum site. Don't really know what I'm doing, but it seems to be working OK. If they add a sub-forum here, I'll just cut 'n paste it all over and close the other one.
Here's the link: http://shadow.myfreeforum.org
There's a new section for the Shadow at Modaco:

Looks like a good forum, many good sub-topics, etc.
However, I closed the page quickly, and didn't open any of the posts. Why? That idiotic background "music" is extremely annoying! I couldn't stand to keep hearing that over and over. So I closed the page, without reading any posts.
If there is any way you can get rid of that background noise, please do so. (I didn't see any way for the user to turn it off.)
I use Kaspersky Internet Suite, it has a banner-blocking feature that shields me from that -- sorry, it's a freebie site and I have no control over their ads. I cut 'n pasted the topics over to the new Shadow forum at Modaco though, so you can spare yourself the music at: http://www.modaco.com/category/320/HTC-Juno-Juno-MoDaCo-com/

Seriously??? You couldn't even read further down the page than the first few threads? Look mate, welcome to the forum and all that, but please read the forum rules before posting anything else.
If you don't start searching for yourself then people will soon remember your name and stop helping you.

Is there anyway I can get notifications like we get for PMs but when somebody replies to your post in a thread? Some threads are huge and I can't find where I posted my question, comment, concern, and can't find who replied and what they said?! Is there a feature I just can't find or does that just not exist? Please PM me with the answer, because I at least get a notification that I got a reply then. Thanks!
From what I can see there is nothing like that available on XDA (I couldn't be wrong, but I don't think so). You can however use the subscription feature that is built into vBulletin. Go to User CP > Edit Options > Subscriptions and change it from None to one of the options. That will then add a thread to your subscription list and show you when new posts have been made in that thread.
I have mine set to No Email which just adds the thread to your subscriptions list, I can't be bothered with the emails it sends you.
I'm thinking this is the closest feature you'll find to what you're wanting.

As far as I know, that's the best you can get with the software this forum is using.
Unless you mark threads as read, the "View first unread" feature (either visible in the thread, or the ">" icon next to thread titles in the forum view) will take you to the first reply after your post, and the emails/notifications links should take you to the first unread post in a thread.
I don't know if this thread is in the right section; if necessary plz move it. I have some questions about the forum; is there a link to quickly access all new replies to my posts/threads?(this exists in several forums) or access all my posts in general. Maybe there's already one but can't find it.. maybe put it at top right, right to "private messages"

In your usercp is an option for subscriptions. Subscribe to threads when you reply (option is in settings to auto subscribe)
Choose no email subscription unless you want email notifications, and then go to usercp to see the subscribed threads.
i already done that but a quick link to all new replies to my posts would have been better imo
Go into your profile, then statistics. There will be "find all posts by *username*" and "find all threads started by *username*". That should give you an easy way to navigate around what you've posted.
lol yeah i know too.. i just wanted to know if there were quicker shortcuts. Anyway thx for all ur help.
This might sound really dumb but .... when I reply to a comment on a thread and he replies back I never know when he replies back to me and if he replies back unless I look at the thread again .... so should I be getting these replies in my message box or some other place or do I have to look at the thread again and again and search to find my reply out of the thousands of other comments
Look under "Thread tools" at the top of the screen. You can set notifications up.
Thanx but all I see that could possibly help is a subscribe to this thread button is that it

Yes. You select "Subscribe to this Thread", and on the page after that, you can select whether it notifies you via e-mail the moment a new post is added, or e-mail you daily/weekly with the posts added during that time period.
Thanks, this helped alot
