Sgs4g as amplifier - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

is it possible to use your phone as an amp?

You mean an amp to make things louder, or are you thinking of a DSP, which will add effects/distortion?

An amp to make things louder that could be connected via headphones or usb

if you get drhonks bali kernel that supports voodoo sound you will be able to amplify the sound beyond what any other phone OR ipod could ever do
so yes in a way it can but no it cant because an amp pushes out extreme amounts of power

You want to plug in a guitar/mic or something? I found a couple apps in the market for such a purpose but I play bass so never tested. How big is the speaker in this thing?
On the moon our weekend are so advanced they encompass the entire week

Increase headphone volume

Mods please feel free to move / delete
is there a way to increase the headphone volume? I got to the audio service menu but I don't know which settings to change. I just got a new pair of Bose ae2 and they are extremely quiet. I tried another pair with the same issue. Maybe I'm deaf?
Thanks in advance!

PERFECT! Thanks a bunch!
I want to DECREASE the volume. When I listen to music and set it to the lowest setting, it's still too loud. Is there a way to do that?

THANKS! This is just what I needed to break in my new noise cancelling headphones!
I can't seem to find audioboost in the market?
I'm running congnition 2.3b8, does this have something to do with this issue?
There is an app called audio boost that works great. Its a paid app but almost doubled my sound output on my captivate. Well worth it, don't remember how much but worth the price. Your phone must be rooted on froyo or stock rooted or unrooted on 2.1

I can't find Audio in the Market either. What other options do I have to increase captivate volume.
My volume was much higher with Phoenix Rising ROM but not with Andromeda.
Strange nobody's talking about the voodoo control app.....u do need a voodoo or speedmod kernel for it.......voodoo has the option of increasing or decreasing the headphone gain....works like a charm!
I have problems with the sound when set on tv out mode. its gets quietier. Anyone know how to increase volume on the tv out mode?
You could click the thread in my signature and use the galaxy tuner app to adjust it louder or quieter, problem solved. It is also in the market for download. This works for the headphones and the phone speaker. This works with any kernel also.

Captivate volume output

Never really paid attention until I noticed that I couldn't really hear you tube videos and music! Which was fine before, it was loud enough! So it was then I realized sound was only coming out one side so dunno!
I'm getting a replacement either way and I'll compare the two!
...
it's been confirmed numerous times that one is a mic and the other is a speaker.

i use a program like total recorder to boost the volume of my ringtones, then copy them back to my sdcard. there are a couple of free apps online that do the same.

Wow! Can't believe they sent you a replacement for a problem that doesn't exist.

WOW .... that is lame as hell .... and this is an LG product??? No wonder my d2 sounded better and was louder
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA Premium App
How is that lame? You would prefer two speakers and no mic? Then it wouldn't be a phone, would it?
2 speakers and a Mic would be nice. Other than the noticeably low volume I love this phone.

volume+ seems to let you do some audio tweaking i had the same problem where my audio was all the way up and wasnt very loud i downloaded and installed Volume+ i think it is on the market not sure but this allowed me to run my volume at 1/2 up and its loud as heck
it sets speaker, headset and as well as bluetooth volume levels
This doesn't allow me to boost past factory settings

Volume issue

Hi. I believe that after I changed to gummy from ab my max volume changed dramatically. Now headphones aren't even louder than my car noise and I drive a hybrid. I've tried different music players and even wiped and reflashed the newest gummycharged.
Any ideas?

Im assuming you are running one of the Voodoo kernels. If so I noticed the same thing. Go to the Market and grab the Voodoo Control app. Once you have it the first thing in the app is Headphone Amplifier increase it from -10dB to Max ( ie 5dB) and the volume will be back.
Yea Voodoo Control App works flawlessly

[Q] How do I boost the volume on Nexus S

I have CM10.1 and it seems to me that the volume on the headset is lower then usual. There is a warning if I go past the "safe" point but the safe point isn't very loud at all. Is this a bug? Is there a way around it? Kernel? Mod? Better ROM?
I downloaded Speaker Boost, but when increasing the gain it did the opposite!
Try a sound mod like acid, etc..

You need to install Voodoo Sound app from Playstore and increase Headphone amplifier to +0db and see the changes on your headphone..

You know what is weird, when I tried the "Voodoo Sound Mod" it wasn't until I selected Boost Bass that the sound jumped up at least 5db over the max. Anyone else noticed this?

Completely agree! I've got it installed on the NS and Kindle - definitely a blast!
Can you downmix to mono with Viper?
