Gingeritis problem... - Thunderbolt General

I have no ringtones, alarms, or notifications other then the dumb ones left on by the dev and can't download any from HTC hub. I have to have my phone on vibrate because it plays an explicit rap song for a ringtone. Any suggestions.

Did you wipe before installing? And which version of gingeritis are you using?

Chingy scripts all his roms to wipe that badboy clean as a whistle. That means any ringtones saved in your old rom will be gone forever. You can use or make a ringtone or notifier or alarm from virtually any mp3 on your sdcard. It's a piece of cake.

When I use hub to create a ringtone it says please insert SD card. I'm using 3d test 11

Go to sd card and create a folder called "ringtones" and put mp3s there. They will show up in settings/sound/ringtone list

Dev fixed it in update but thanks fellas.

[Resolved] A decent ringtone app!

Ok so I use ringdroid and create my own tones no problem.. it saves them to the correct media folder so they won't show up in my music app.. however my girl doesn't want to go that route and would rather just download premade tones.. problem is I haven't found an app that'll save the tones in the proper folder therefore mixing her full tracks music with her ringtones.. any ideas?

Just find a audio ripping program to make them.
Zedge is a pretty good app for this.
Only problem with zedge is the way the categories are set up.. she's likes the top 100 for each genre feature that other apps have.. I guess its time I look into developing my own app.. lol

Custom ringdroid ringtone disappearing

Somebody help please.... i just got my inspire yesterday and i wanted a custom ringtone and notification so i used ringdroid to make them. But as soon as i turn the device off theyre gone. Whats the problem

not sure why its disappearing, but after you create them in Ringdroid, make sure its been saved to (using Astro or any file manager) sdcard\media\audio\ringtones (or notification if you made a notification).
If its saving in that directory, but not showing in your options - or not saving to that directory...then I'd try uninstalling Ringdroid and re-installing.
Another option would be just to download Zedge from the market and see if they have what your looking for...its an app with thousands of Ringtones, Wallpapers and Notification sounds.
Thanks. But what i did that helped was to download a htc sense ringtone and then moving the ringtones into the same folder as the htc one. They are staying now

Individual ringtones for contacts

Does anyone know any good roms where you can set individual ringtones for contacts. I tried a few and can't seem to find one.

I have used AR-HD and I am currently using Inspired Ace and both will let you assign ringtones without any issue.

Try ringdroid
That is because of the contacts app, use a 3rd party to set ringtones. I use Whoisit. It controls your notifications like nothing else I have found. Well worth the money. There are a few free apps like the one newter suggested that allow you to select personal mp3 files for ringtones. Some custom roms come with an app already built in.
I'm Currently running NINJA 716 which is based on CM and i can assign custom ringtones to different contacts on using the default contacts app. When you go into a contact hit menu then options and assign a ringtone.
i also tried this on my sister cliqxt running CM7.1 RC1 and it works
To select a ringtone for an individual contact in cm7 go to view the contact hit menu and choose option there will be an option to set a ringtone there.

Oh yeah. Duh. I tried hitting menu as I was in edit mode and it gave no options. Totally forgot to just select contact an hit menu. Now I can rove the other apps to save space. Thanks everyone

LG Notification sounds?

Here's a question:
If I'm running an AOSP ROM, is there any way to port in the stock LG notification sounds/ringtones? There's a few that I like better than the AOSP ones.

It is very simple to do in Android. On your sd card or in the internal phone memory create a directory called "media" and inside that create one called "audio". Then inside that just put the sounds you want in folders called "alarms", "notifications" and "ringtones". The phone will then automatically scan and use the new sounds and you can select them in settings. Here are the all the sounds from the stock LG rom. They are already in the appropriate folders just copy it to the internal or external sd card.

PERFECT. I hope you stick around the G2X threads, jboxer. Love your work.

Make a directory on your root SD card for your Nexus (I know it doesn't have an SD card, but plug in your phone to your PC using a USB Cable and from there turn on USB storage.
Once looking through the directories on your phone, create a folder called Media. Inside that, create a folder called ringtones and place your MP3 file in there. Your Nexus S should recognize this file as an MP3 and it will be selectable from your ringtones after you unplug your phone.
The same can be done for Alarms and Notifications.
For instance,
Media/Ringtones
Media/Notifications
Media/Alarms
When you unplug your Nexus S from your PC after you put files in the respective folders above, your Nexus S should recognize these files and you should be able to see them then next time you set a alert of some sort.
Hope that helps!

Excellent answer , sure that helps much.
Thanks
Found out that creating the Ringtones, Notifications, Alarms folders in the root of the SD card has the same effect. Might require a reboot too take effect.
You can also use an app called ringtone maker by big bang dev to edit and set ringtones.

A lot easier: Just download Zedge from the market. Will let you pick any song just anywhere.

Is the same methode of making a folder with "Media" name applies for a Wallpaper ?
I don't like the stock ICS wallpapers and I have a folder of the stock GB wallpapers on my PC.... How can I incorporate them with the stock ICS wallpapers ? is that possible ?
