sd card unmounted - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am running the stock rooted rom with nechary 1.3.4 bfs and my sd keeps unmounting. is it the clockworkmod? I can not find any answers here. Any help would be great.

I found this to be caused when flashing netarchy bfs kernel. I switched to cfs and the problem disappeared.

Hey. I just installed setcpu on CM6 and enabled set on boot. Then flashed the 614 kernel. That should work. I tried the 710 but it would just crash and bootloop.

SD unmounted?

I am running the stock rooted rom with nechary 1.3.4 bfs and my sd keeps unmounting. is it the clockworkmod? I can not find any answers here. Any help would be great.
Sorry wrong section
takes about 4 or 5 reboots to get it to mount again once that happens
I switched from the stock rom, and haven't had the issue since
I read that happens on trinity kernels, I always run cfs on net's kernel so never ran into that problem
The same thing happened to me the other day with the same kernel. Fixed it by wiping cache and dalvik 3x and reflashing the kernel. No problems since.

From what I have found it is due to bfs kernels. I read that somewhere here when I was experiencing the problem, flashed a new kernel and problem solved. I am still running a bfs kernel (matrix now instead of netarchy) but the issue hasn't come back.

Me too, same exact thing. Matrix is running fine, as well.

O/C Kernel for 2.3.3?

Is just recently downgraded from 2.3.4 cm7 based roms to Faux's 2.3.3. I decided i couldn't live without my hdmi anymore... one problem though. The only O/C kernel I found that works is Morphic's. But now the SD card will not mount. Is there a fix or a different O/C kernel that works with 2.3.3??? Thanks!

[Q] Dual Booting Kernel Question

I was wondering if I dual booted my phone with Cyanogen and a Sense rom using a Non Sense Kernel it would mess things up. Can I flash Two different Kernels? Currently I have CM7 RC1 with Lord Mod's CFS Kernel and I was thinking of dual booting it with Coredroid or something similar... Any thoughts?
P.S. What does a Nandroid backup file look like on my SD and where
Thanks Irish Enigma

Your Nandroids are in the Clockworkmod folder on your card. You'll see them just drill down. They are huge.
I will let someone more knowledgeable answer your question about dual kernels in more depth.

overclock cm9

So i just installed cm9, and my phone can only go to 1188mhz so how do i over clock because i know the sensation can go to 1.6
Install system tuner and try to raise the value. If not, install a kernel compatible with cm9 and u should be good.
On some of the early nightlies I was able to use faux123's 005b3 asop kernel and overclocked to 1.78. I only used it on a couple of the early nightlies. I tried flashing it a few days ago and got bootloops. I think that was on nightly 01, maybe 30.
Stock kernel works fine for me. Overclock will probably be available sometime down the road. Someone on cm9 dev thread is running faux's kernel now, apparently without problems. I guess YMMV, or maybe that should be MMMV.
Isn't there a kernel less than 1.78 like 1.67 or something. A 1.6 kernel should be ok and u don't need to turn it up to max.

For CM9, faux is the only one that maybe works as far as I know. There is a mod over in the dev forum that overclocks to 1.5, I think. Haven't tried it, so I can't verify.
cm9 was great, but it wasn't stable yet and couldn't be over clocked
so i tried aokp that wasn't as good the screen looked too small and spaced out, but yo ucould over clock. And unfortunately without me knowing my phone was backing up my apps, ON MY DATA, so i owe virgin about 200$ now =_= for using 70$
In the end i went back to arhd, do yo uguy have any recommendation.
Use faux kernel 005b3 it will over clock it to 1.728.and it is stable and will run great.I have been running it for 5 days no problem.

First make double sure the kernel is compatible with your rom and operating system and firmware . Then wipe cash.and dalvik cash, then flash like a rom. By downloading the Kernel to the root of your SD card and flash through recovery. I like 4 ext recovery. After wiping you install from SD card then reboot. Hope this helps.
Of course do the download first, then wipe, then flash
