How can we kill this permanently. I don't need to rate anything other than a hit chicks rack at the park. And Google maps does not do this.

Thanks!

Under the back up/restore tab. Find the app. Tap it. It will bring up a small menu that says restore and uninstall, etc... there is also a freeze button... done and done.

If I wanted disable maps I can just un install maps. On my own. Its the rating places that keeps making it pop up and run

You should be able to remove it through titanium. You may have to make sure Chuck Norris mode is on(I believe it is on by default).

Has anyone noticed that the stock G2x comes with some LogMeIn packages(com.logmein.rescue and com.logmein.rescuesecurity) already installed? Anyone know what they are there for? I've yet to see anywhere that I could make use of them, which makes me wonder if they're there for LG or other companies to gain access for whatever reason.

Okay, so T-Mobile is including Logmein Rescue so they can access your machine for support. Personally, I backed it up and deleted it with Titanium Backup. No need for that crap. Everything is working fine.
The two apps are:
com.logmein.rescue 6.3.246
com.logmein.rescuesecurity 6.3.246
Thanks, I just froze them using titanium backup.

I removed them the first day I got the phone. Just use Root Explorer to delete them. I didn't like the sound of it either.
There is a thread about which apps you can delete, like the Tmobile crap, EA Store, games, etc. I posted what the app name was compared to the store and what I deleted without any recourse.
I removed a dozen probably.
After doing a factory reset to my phone G2x, syncing all apps and setting everything up. I went and did a speed test.
Here are my speed test results attached below.
My setting on my phone are
Data enabled
Data roaming enabled
Network type auto
Location services enabled
Background data enabled

I am running VB FB Edition and one thing I have noticed is that my Gps does not work. I would like to use the navigation feature but it seems never to get a lock on. There is many apps in the market that say they fix Gps issues. But what does everyone use to get Gps working? Can some advise me? Thanks for all your input.

Somewhere within the VB black thread I think the apk for angrygps is posted. That was suggested for a while to fix the gps issues.
I have not read anybody else with gps problems on FB's VB. You may need to reflash, or clear caches and fix permissions.
Ok I found my issue under development for some reason I had enabled mock gps location enabled. What is that feature for?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
It can enable you to set a different location from where you actually are. For example, if you use any of the maps/location features that show you stuff around you, say hotels, you can use a mock location of where you're headed (say New York City) vs. where you are now (on the highway in New Jersey) to get what's close to that location.
Clear as mud, right?
Also, you can use mock location for development purposes in case you're making an app that uses a GPS location and you don't get a real GPS location, or testing to see if your app will work with different coordinates and how it will react.
EDIT
Woohoo this was my 2000th post!

I recently install Genesis stable build 1 and I am constantly getting data drops whenever I open an app like facebook, Google Play, and any browser. I did a clean install and did fresh installs of most of my apps. I also chose the stock kernel. It will show that I have data right up until I open an app.

What baseband are you using? I'm using the new baseband, and Harsh No-OC kernel, and get at most one data drop a day.
But, a quick fix is to add Data to your notification toggles, and just toggle it off then back on.

I am running the March 2012 baseband and stock kernel. I reflashed the ROM again without wiping and it seems to have reduced the amounts of data drops. It definitely is not doing it like it originally did but thanks for the toggle idea.

Just flashed this with the same settings as the OP - March 2012 BB, stock kernel, and it drops every time I go to the play store. Definitely not going to work for me.
Gonna have to re-flash EB .

Hey everyone, hope someone can help.
I love Google now, and use it every day. But I've been getting an annoying issue constantly.
I'm getting commute cards coming up all the time saying I'm 39 minutes away, 45 minutes away etc... from my home location. I did some closer looking and noticed that its not getting my correct location. Google Now (and Google maps) seems to think I'm elsewhere, when I'm actually at home. I also noticed that when launching Google maps, it shows the wrong location on boot, then fixes to my GPS location.
I'm annoyed by this because it use to work perfect a couple weeks back, and that I use this on a daily basis for bus route times. I can't use it now because its giving me bus routes and times from the location Google thinks I'm at.
Here's some information about my phone:
- Liquid ROM
- Latest Google Search from Play Store
- Wi-Fi off, GPS on, Data on.
Hope someone can help me out.

I use GPS Test https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chartcross.gpstest
(Actually I bought the Plus version for $3 because I use it a lot.)
Also, I found that when roaming, it doesn't seem to pick up location from cell networks. (I have data roaming disabled.)

It is enabled.
After doing some research, many people are saying that using WiFi will help out pinning my location.
So for my next test, im turning on WiFi, and disabling background location reporting. I found that background location reporting didn't do anything different to my Google Now data, and was a big battery drainer, making Google maps the top app draining my battery even though it wasn't being used.
