SugarSync 5GB Cloud Storage (dropbox killer) - Samsung Infuse 4G

SugarSync is the best syncronization solution i've tested so far
some of the features that attracted me mostly
- 5GB of free space (+ 500MB)
- sync the files between all the computers and devices
- music streaming
- photo sharing
- etc.
If you register through my referral link you'll get an additional 500MB (I also get)

The switch is worth it. It is much more user friendly and has extra features compared to dropbox.

Have fun!!

I used your referral link
i use box.net
this seems cool too.

For Skeptics like me who are always concerned about putting their files on filesharing or online storage sites, this review gave it the "TOP 10 GOLD AWARD", Great find!! I'll be using your referral as well, enjoy the +500mb!!
SugarSync is a spectacular online storage service. Combining powerful features, valuable plans, and overall versatility, this service earns our TopTenREVIEWS Gold Award as the best online storage solution available. It's compelling, complete with the ability to store, share and synchronize your files online.
Feature Set:
Your files are continuously synced and backed up to your SugarSync account the moment you upload them. When you edit your files, your changed are backed up. Since your files are stored online, restoring them following data loss is effortless. This service also makes the previous five versions of every file available without you having to take any action. Photos uploaded to your SugarSync account are organized into photo albums, making this service a service for both backing up and sharing your files.
If the computer you’re using has a web browser, you can sync changes to your files with the WebSync option in your personal SugarSync website. This service syncs changes to your other devices once you’re done editing files. This service eliminated the need to setup a home network because it allows you to sync files with all devices. You can even sync files to offline computers. Once they’re online, the changes you made will sync.
With SugarSync Mobile (available on Android, iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Symbian and Blackberry devices), camera phone pictures are synced to your computer. Your music files are available for streaming and listening without you having to download them.
SugarSync is great at sharing files too. Turn files into public links and post your content online or email it to your friends. The recipients will get a direct, secure download link to your file. Registration isn’t required to download these files. You can disable the links at any time or see how many times they’ve been downloaded. Your folders can be shared too using the “Share Folder” link located at the top of each folder. People who have access to these folders can change your files, but this service keeps track of every change.
Security:
The file uploading process is Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encrypted, the standard for secure web communications, and files stored are protected using 128-bit AES technology, a level of security banks commonly use. These two technologies combine to prevent your data from falling victim to identity thieves or other individuals trying to steal data. All files are stored and backed up in multiple data centers to ensure you can still access your files when one of their data centers goes down. Downloaded files have to live up to the same standards as other files. They're subjected to the same rigorous security protocols to guarantee you're the only one who has look at the file in the journey from their servers to your hard drive.
Storage Space/Price:
This service offers 30, 60, 100 and 250 GB plans supporting 3,000 to 25,000 documents, 6,000 to 40,000 photos and 6,000 to 30,000 songs. A 500 GB plan is available for users who need more storage. You have the option to pay monthly or yearly fees for these plans. Business users can sign-up for their SugarSync for Business plan, which offers 100 GB for up to three users with the option to add more users and storage if needed.
Ease of Use:
Using the features in SugarSync and navigating through its interface is painless. We had no problems syncing sharing and storing our files. Being able to access files online is much easier than having to email them to yourself. Plus, you can email files of any size without having to worry about size restrictions. SugarSync is effective in making files available to multiple computers. In fact, it’s easier to setup than a home network
Help/Support:
Sharpcast offers its SugarSync users a variety of customer service options. The software itself has embedded help resources. On their website, they offer user forums, a quick start and user’s guide and step-by-step video and text tutorials. If your still have questions after perusing those resources, you can contact them with an email or through their live chat support system. Sharpcast charges an additional monthly fee for unlimited telephone support.
Sharpcast’s customer service options are adequate. Their resources are useful and cover a good deal of information. We also liked how quickly their customer service representatives responded. However, we would like them to offer free, unlimited telephone support.
Summary:
SugarSync is a great way to store, share, and mobilize your files and data. It is a comprehensive solution for online storage, online file sharing and collaboration and multiple computer syncing. For a unique combination of features, simplicity, and amazing flexibility, SugarSync is a tremendous service.

Instead of this referral spam, I would appreciate info on their privacy policy and data encryption!!!
I see no point in going from one mess to another if there is no improvement in this regard.
I recommend Wuala, it has client-side encryption and you can find bonus codes for practically unlimited storage on the net.
Signed up and I like it!
Just like dropbox but with 5 times the free storage - just what ive been looking for - thanks!
It seems that with the recent changes in dropbox's term & conditions , I might have to switch over ... 5gb of space is enticing though !!

And most importantly, of course burried deep on the website: SugarSync security
Uploading
For maximum security, when you sync files to SugarSync’s servers, your files are sent over the Internet using TLS (Transport Layer Security) encryption. TLS is the successor to SSL v3.0; both industry standard cryptographic protocols for secure Web communications. This means that your computer and our server go through a “handshake process” — every piece of information moved between them is verified as a secure communication before changing hands.
Backup
Once your data reaches our servers, files are encrypted with 128-bit AES, the same level of hacker-proof protection used by major banks. Your data is stored and backed up in two carrier-grade data centers, including Amazon’s S3 facility. SugarSync does not just sync your files, we back up the synced copies as well.
Downloading
When you download your files to any computer or mobile phone, they undergo the same rigorous standards we apply to uploaded files: All data is encrypted before leaving SugarSync servers so you can be sure you’re the only one to see them when you access them.
Access to data
We take our customer's privacy and data security very seriously.
Customer data is accessed only when absolutely necessary, solely for troubleshooting purposes. Access is limited to only a few individuals in our escalations team who work in conjunction with developers to solve our most difficult support cases.
Our audit tools log all occurrences of personal data access.

Summary: Well, apparently no improvement in the encryption department when compared to Dropbox. They handle the encryption keys, not you. Essentially, they have full access to anything you upload unless you have encrypted the stuff yourself before uploading.

Checking it out now because the encryption is what grabbed my attention. The 14mb installer seems like a bit much for Windows though...
(Haven't gotten as far as the Android install yet)
I'd be very careful with this app. In my case, it deleted several files after I made changes to them. Also, it won't remember settings on the phone. I've chatted with the support people and sent them several copies of the logs. They always promise to get back to me about the problems-but it's been almost three weeks now. I've begged them for a response-but nothing. I'd steer clear of this.

It's Java, that explains the size. The Windows app is quite nice, Android still lacking a bit but hopefully that'll be fixed soon. Devs respond very fast if stuff breaks, feature requests really depend on their importance and time.

No buddy. Only Dev has this rights.
Google combines Drive, Gmail and Google+ Photo storage into a common 15GB pool
Google's efforts to streamline aren't limited to some spring cleaning and more spartan interfaces. Today the company is breaking down the artificial walls between the pools of online storage provided for Gmail, Drive and Google+ Photos. Instead of 10GB for all your messages and attachments, alongside a separate 5GB repository for your photos and documents, now all three sites share a common 15GB slice on Google's servers. So, if you happen to be a little photo crazy, but are nowhere near the limit on your Gmail account, you no longer need to rely on workarounds like archiving images as attachments. This also means that storage upgrades for Gmail no longer top out at 25GB. There's also a handy new visualization that shows how much of your available storage you're using and breaks it down by service for finer-grained tracking.
Update: If you're a Google Apps customer your available cloud storage will also be unified, leaving you with 30GB shared between all three services.

I have been using this Application for years. All the functions are great.. Even though I began with Monetal windows, Currently am using Monetal Android.
This app is first on my cant live without app list.

Thank you for such an app...
Hi everybody. I have updated Monetal so new version of 3.16 is available in Google Play:
- new data storage system. It helps retore data after failures
- Roboto font builded in (for Xiaomi and other phones)
- BYR, TND, CLP currencies added
- bug fixes (sync algorithm, stability and more);
Thanks for the continuous support.
One feature I'd like to see is searching through the notes I enter with the expenses. Perhaps you use it in a different way.
Example. All paid bills are paid and tagged with Bills tag. I also put what bill it is (internet, mobile, utilities, etc.) in the note along with the expanse.
There is no way for us to filter only internet bills, unless we create a separate subcategory (sub-tag) for each of these different expenses.
Creating subtags, is that how you would go in this scenario?

Ok, I will add search for notes in the feature. And yes, now I solve this with category "Bill" and there subcategories "Intenet", "Phone", "Rent", my notes for Rent is August, September etc. So I see all bills payed, and if I expand it Monetal shows every subcategory. I think this way is more convient.
If you pay some rare payment, so choose Bill itself inside "Bill" category, and make a note. Thank you.
Ok, yes, that makes sense as well.
Search feature through notes is still missed though
Thanks.
Hi everybody,
new version 3.20 is available in Google Play. I have fixed a widget error, and added new feature Wallets which will help to group accouts.
Wallets in Monetal
Wallets are used to group accounts in some sort of sets, which you can switch any time. For example, if you are traveling to Russia just add new wallet "InRussia" and add to it any accounts which you takes with you. Other accounts will be hidden. Switch to Total wallet again to see all accounts.
Wallets examples:
Total. Its general wallet which contains all accounts. Can't be deleted
MyTravel. All accounts you will use in travel
Cards. Bank cards
My accounts. If you are using syncing with other devices its useful to have this wallet.
To create wallet you need more than three accounts. Tap Total in accounts list screen and follow instrictions.
Feel free to ask any questions about Monetal here. Thank you.
You know what I've noticed, that one cannot have the same category in both expense and income.
I'd like to have the ability to assign both incomes and expenses to one the same category.
Is it something that's doable?

Monetal doesn't allow you to have the same category in each income and expense mode., due to internal structure and developing simplicity. But you are welcome to add some sorts of "." or even space to category.
What is tag that you want to have in both categories? May be I can suggest another decision. Thank you.
Thanks. I have a budget for purchasing and reselling and I would like to track it, without making it a separate account.
Yes, unfortunetely it seems you have to create two different tags like "MyStorePurchase" and "MyStoreSales". This way will let you to track them separetly. I don't plan to let user create similar tags, there are a lot of changes will need inside the code. Thank you.
Thanks

[APP][5.0+][v0.9.0] Tag My Knowledge - Personal Knowledge Management made simple

Tag My Knowledge
Personal Knowledge Management made simple
Quickly store and categorize bits of knowledge you find in books, videos or podcasts and convert them into habits that change your life.

Hey everyone!
I love watching podcasts and CEO interviews on YouTube. However, I quickly ran into some big issues (see below).
Luckily, since I'm a developer, I can fix these for myself. The solution turned out to be pretty good, so I decided to share it
Issues that I ran into with existing solutions (ie. what this app is trying to solve)
Issue #1: Knowledge is buried under grocery lists
Originally I used Google Keep, but at some point I realized that everything below a certain "scroll threshold" was lost forever unless I specifically searched for it.
To combat this, Tag My Knowledge uses what's called spaced repetition.
By reading something 10 times with time in between, you remember it much better than If you read it 10 times in a row.
That's why Tag My Knowledge uses a feed-approach. Every day, you see random items so you subconsciously build habits out of them!
Issue #2: Note taking wasn't fast enough
Speakers talk pretty fast and while you can pause & rewind YouTube videos, it quickly becomes annoying. Even worse, you can't rewind live events.
Tag My Knowledge is optimized to keep up with that. Adding knowledge takes as few clicks possible.
That way, you never miss some important off-topic nugget never again!

Features
A single piece of knowledge can consist of a title, rich text description, a source (with optional link), tags and one or more categories
You can manage all of your tags in one place
You can modify your list of categories (up to 5). You can change name, icon and order.
The first 4 will be shown as tabs at the bottom for quick access
You can filter for tags
You can toggle feed/history mode. History mode shows all your knowledge in chronological order (within that category), feed is essentially random (algorithm behind it but whatever)
Works on multiple devices (currently only on Android & via Progressive Web App)
Download / Where to get it
Website (here you can also sign up for a newsletter to get notified on updates)
Progressive Web App (also works on iOS)
Huawei App Gallery (doesn't have Google login, otherwise equal. Screenshots are outdated, app isn't.)
As of right now, the app is completely free and everything that's in it will definitely stay free forever.
That being said, if there's enough interest, I'll probably create some sort of premium plan so I can continue to improve it.
I have so many ideas on how to improve this, but I can't afford to invest my life into it without being able to pay my rent.
Please comment below and let me know what you think about it
Specifically, these are the question on my mind right now:
- Is this useful to you at all?
- What solution are you currently using, if any?
- I would use this, if ...
Have a great day!

Basically a good idea, but why do we need an account for it? I'd rather keep my notes local. If need be, put them in a folder to sync via the preferred solution (e.g. NextCloud).
Thanks for the feedback!
I thought about that as well, but in the end I decided against it for a few reasons:
- The app is built for simplicity and having to set up your own sync solution would go against that
- Synchronization between mobile & web versions can never be completely seamless & instant when relying on cloud storage providers or custom solutions. I also found this way too easy to mess up on both sides.
- Local-only data is inherently lost when you lose your phone. This is obvious, but originally I was the only person I developed for and I constantly softbrick/switch/factory reset/upgrade my device so I'd rather not risk that or take the time to do manual export/import
I also have a lot of features planned which simply aren't possible (or become incredibly tedious) when the database is local.
- A twitter bot to tag knowledge automatically when you @ it (similar to readwise.io).
- In-app knowledge sharing (if I get the chance, I'd build some optional social media features into the app). For example you could share your knowledge in exchange for a custom email feed of other people's knowledge that could be interesting for you
- A chrome extension

Right, that does sound interesting and well thought-through. But in the end of the day that approach is exactly *not* what I am looking for. Thanks anyway.

[CLOSED] How BIG TECH tracks you....

Some of the things that BIG TECH (Google, Facebook, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, and others) uses to identify you:
1. IP address
2. Browser Fingerprinting
3. Device Fingerprinting
4. Location, Nearby scanning, Beams, GPS
5. Advertiser ID
6. Always Listening (voice commands)
7. Your demographic details
IP address
This is the same for all devices connected to the same WiFi network. This address is called the Public IP address, which is the address assigned to your WiFi router by your ISP. Using this, Big Tech can track all the accounts that use the same IP address. So, Big Tech knows who all are living in the same household, who all are working in the same place (if you connect to your work WiFi), etc.
Browser Fingerprinting
Websites can track full details of your browser, which in conjunction with other forms of tracking (like cookies), can be used to create your virtual profile, your interests, your online activities, etc. Google, Facebook, Amazon, etc, have trackers in pretty much all the websites, so even if you don't use your account in those sites, BIG TECH can still track you by connecting the dots.
Using Private/ Incognito browsing isn't all that private as one is made to believe.
Device Fingerprinting
This is similar to, but more advanced form of tracking compared to Browser Fingerprinting. They record details of your device like make, model, display resolution, operating system, time zone, GPS, sensor data, Information About Things Near Device (i.e Wi-Fi Access Points, Cell Towers, Bluetooth-enabled Devices, etc.).
You can change your browser, network, location, etc. But you are unlikely to change your device as frequently. You can be easily tracked using Device Fingerprinting.
Location/ Nearby Scanning/ WiFi/ Low Energy Bluetooth/ GPS
You can change your physical location, but it is highly likely that you will move with your family. So even if you use completely new accounts, they can still track you through your family members' accounts. That's how Facebook recommends same 'Friends' to you even if you use a new account.
Your device is constantly communicating with the tech around you - mobile towers, WiFi routers, Bluetooth devices, GPS, etc. That setting of 'Scanning Always Available' under Location Settings helps in improving this accuracy.
A new technology is in works that will allow tracking of your device even when it is switched OFF! Spyware is essentially being installed at the hardware level and your devices would be under surveillance 24x7.
Advertiser ID
As the name suggests, this is your Virtual Identity containing your interests, online activity history, etc that is provided to advertisers (even if anonymously) for targeted advertising.
You CAN reset this ID on all devices (Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, etc.) to reduce the amount of information advertisers know about you (even if anonymously).
Always Listening
The most privacy disrespecting feature. Your gadgets are constantly listening to you, waiting for your commands. All your personal conversations are recorded. Next feature will be Always Watching! They will develop some interesting application for this feature (like they did for identifying the music around you) and sell you devices that is constantly recording you using cameras!
Your Demographics
Name, Phone number, Date of Birth, Gender, and other details that you provide when creating your account. They have pretty much made it mandatory to give correct information without which you cannot create an account.
Your personal details, contacts, meta data of pictures and videos on your device, etc everything will be linked to identify you from your virtual identity.
CONCLUSION
No matter how hard one tries, he will leave several footprints about himself if using tech. The only way to avoid tracking is to completely give up on use of gadgets and communication devices. VPNs/ TOR Network won't protect you.
FUN FACT
ALL BIG TECH companies, including chip makers are American companies!
Software: Google, Apple, Microsoft, etc.
Hardware: Qualcomm, Intel, AMD, Apple, etc.
Social media: Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, etc.
Streaming Services: Amazon, Netflix, etc.
News channels too (there are no journalists anymore; only media-persons)
....you name it: all are American companies! This isn't a mere coincidence!
So you know where all the data goes! And who does all the spying!
I bought a brand new phone and set it up WITHOUT any account. I have installed a few apps, including Revanced Extended with microG (not signed in to any account).
Guess what:
The YouTube feed is pretty much filled with the same recommendations and content from channels I have subscribed to on my other devices where I have signed in. 🫣
Here's another example:
How was my store visit inside a shopping mall tracked?
I was inside a shopping mall yesterday for a few hours. One of the shops/ store is an outlet of a well known electronics retail chain. I have purchased something there several months/ years back. I was inside this store yesterday too, but only...

Exactly what was written in OP.
Fake narrative building, creating false public perception and influencing people's mindset is why this is done. Everyone knows who controls all the technology and who has all the money in the world.
Yet people believe in the Chinese CCP crap because the biggest spy in the world has created an infrastructure that sells such stories to them.
That's all metadata! And you can stop most of it by installing Adguard with some common filters and setting require VPN for all connections. (this setting is hidden on quite some China OS Chinese phones).
And the same inforamtion is tracked by Chinese phones on global OS.
If you have a China OS Chinese phone - your actualy message content is censored and tracked. Get two China OS phones and send a message with some text about Winnie the Pooh and Xi Jinping - good luck receiving it...
You can notice that after any text message you receive the China OS spyware will send information to Chinese servers.
But yeah - it's okay for their global phones. Just not for the ones for Chinese market (=China OS). Cannot remove their dialer software because than their phone content analysis wouldn't work anymore and so on.
Just be happy you don't live in China. Spying there is on another level - but they are quite transparent about it. Everyone knows about it - unlike Europe/USA where people aren't so aware of what is tracked and what not.
It will upload any website you visited and much more.
And yeah an Iphone China OS or Samsung China OS will spy/censor just like a China OS Chinaphone. It's government policy (and that was the reason for google back some years to pull out of China/not start there. But that was in the good old don't be evil times - which are sadly over.

Some day it will be known that VPN was a big scam. It was just a tool used by spying agencies.

That is the whole point. As mentioned in the last section of OP, everything you do online is being tracked continuously. Just that one country does it openly, while the other does it stealthily, covertly, and on a much much larger scale.
Tor was created by DARPA / Department of defense. They track everything.

And they have made people believe they cannot be tracked.

Local VPN surely isn't scam. You can check rules yourself. Other VPN depends on the provider
