Hi,
Anyone able to download and read magazines using Nook application on their x10?
I am using xShinyBerad ROM with LCD Density downloaded from Market.
I'm using LCD Density to drop the density to 160, so that Nook application thinks it is installed on a tablet.
With that, I can see all my books and magazines, but I am unable to download any magazines.
Books can be downloaded fine, and I can read them. The only issue is I am unable to download magazines.

Hi-
I have been trying to find a good way to view magazines on the Gtab. I tried the zinio app discussed here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=82756) and could not view magazines. The app would run and I could d/l a magazine but the pages came out blank. It also crashes when the Gtab is in landscape mode.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
I use world newspapers. It only has the web magazine, but its better than nothing.
Thanks- will give that a try. I wonder if the app from the nook color would work on the gtab? It is kinda amazing that electronic magazine distribution has not been standardized yet.
To answer my own question this works well for me. Text could be clearer but it works

I've heard that i doesn't work on rooted phones, i installed the new market, it should install along with the new market but it didn't. I guess that's due to me being rooted.

set the browser ua to desktop by typing about:useragent in the adress bar. then log into the gmail desktop site. once logged into google go to the web market at market.android.com/movies
the movies will play in the browsers video player at 480p which is the phones native res anyhow, I'm sure this is the same as google video will play it. they are hosted by youtube and I don't see the hq modes on my pc so id guess that's the quality limit.
this way it will play throuh mhl with no problems.
im rooted. the download wouldnt install from the market. it would start and then just stop for no reason. so i installed from apk. it works now, and with the market too. divx movies forward over to play in the samsung player.

Hey Jack thanks for the apk. It installed just fine but when I tried to play a movie I rented from the market (Wedding Crashers Unrated) I got the following error:
Playback not supported on rooted devices (Error 49)
Have you rented a flick from the market and if so were you able to watch it? I'm rooted and running Infused 153. Thanks again man.
Set the browser user agent to desktop, browse to the Android Market website, and launch the movie from there. Think that may work.
nope, i have yet to see anything i would want to rent over netflix.

yep this is how ive been doing it, works just fine.
ok, I'm a complete novice so can someone please tell me how to do this? I'm getting the rooted error 49 too and have no idea how to get the movie to play. I don't know how to open it in the browser either, so I am totally lost. I have a feeling I just wasted 3.99. Lol.
I tried searching on the phone and also on this forum for an answer to where the folder is for the play books or kindle app. I have a bunch of epub and mobi files that I would like to download to my phone.
anyone????????

Try NOOK app. That's what I use. It will make a folder on your SD card. I just move my downloaded books in that folder. Restart NOOK app and presto. Its free from The Play Store.
I don't use Play Books, however it may be in the same location as Kindle data. Your Kindle books are located here: sdcard/Android/data

For the past several months I have been having a problem with Google Play books: when I open a PDF book on my TF700 it only displays a very low quality, low resolution version of the book. Anything with flowing text is fine, and eveything else on the tablet is running the normal resolution. Only the downloaded pages are extremely low resolution. This problem began back in September (before that I was viewing my books with no problems).
Also, I have confirmed that the same books are displaying just fine on my Galaxy Note 2 and the Play Books webapp on my Chromebook Pixel.
I have tried Stock, CROMI-X, CM 10.1 - 11 and it is the same issue each time. I have tried working through Google Play Books support, but they were not able to help. When I searched Google to see if anyone else was complaining of the same thing I could only find one reference to similar problems from a guy in the Netherlands.
Has anyone else seen this problem? Any ideas on how to solve it?
Thanks!
I'm also very dissappointed about the google books. I wasted 20+$ on a book I can't read now. It's just too blurry.
Any ideas welcome on how to force google books to use better resolution?

I kind of got this working. If you have another smartphone/tablet that displays the books correctly, use that to download all the books that you want to read on the TF700, then use Titanium backup to make a backup of the Google Books app and all the data. You might have to change your preferences so there is no size limit for backing up data (The backup file should be about 300 - 500mb per book).
Copy the backup file over to the tf700 and then restore app + data.
Everything should work. It's not as high resolution as I would like, but it is much better now (I can actually read the equations in my Calculus book).
That's too much to do for something I paid to work out of the box. I reclaimed the money back and bought the book from Amazon instead. Works perfect. The problem was the book wasn't a real ebook in google play, but a scanned pdf instead. Even on other devices it was never fully sharp, even though somewhat readable. I felt cheated, and will not be buying any books from google play soon.
Afternoon all,
Just looking for a bit of advice, I've recently bought a MXQ Android TV Box which I hoped to use on our main tv for Amazon Prime Video. I've installed the apk from the amazon website and logged into my account, I can see all the tv and films on offer although when I click to play the file I get the usual orange circle and then the screen goes black and I get redirected back to the choose a video. Seems to work file on my Samsung Tablet and Justop windows mini pc.
Any tried Amazon videos with one of these recently? Any help would be great.
Cheers
Dave
Looks like the trailers are working fine
I have had similar issues with the recent versions of the Amazon video apps. I began to think they just want their fire TV to dominate the tv. I now use a older version of their app side loaded from my 6 year old Sony goggle tv blue ray player which i never update.. It basically gives the Web site for the interface but at least it works. You might use yor Web browser and save the amazon video page as a bookmark on your desktop.

Tried dolphin, Firefox & Chrome to play the videos with no luck on the website. Same as you now though I found an old apk and installed that which plays the videos from the website. ?
I too have the same problem with Amazon prime video on my MXQ. Did anyone find any solution
Same here
Any news about that, i have the same issue, the app installe dcorectly, but when i run the stream .. it says that the app encounted some error.
@RG GEIGER , @DaveG46
What version of the old apk did you find?
Sorry @neffly27 I've since switched to the fire TV cube which has its own set of limitations but happy so far. Anyway I'm not sure of the version of the app I used on my mx box but it was years ago from the original goggle tv on a Sony DVD player.
