I created an alternative for a dialer app - it's myDialer lite.
What's myDialer lite??
myDialer lite is a replacement for dialer app. You can quickly search for contacts by entering part of the name/number. The application is one of the fastest of its kind.
What is not (and will not be) myDialer lite?
myDialer lite is not an application for managing contacts. It is not a call history management application (even though it has a few features to this).

I'd like to know as well.
Lite version does not have swipe on contact and keyboard and has less options. You can check it for yourself as full version is 7day trial

Sweet. Thanks. Once I get my phone back, I'll try this out. Currently using TouchPad Dialer.
It would be helpful if you included more information in the OP, such as differences between the Lite and Regular version, how much the regular version will cost, and a link to the user suggestions voting page

Differences between lite and full are that full has:
-landscape mode
-swipe gestures on contacts (and option what to do after swipe) and keyboard

I think your work is awesome.
The only issue is while scrolling through the list of contacts, a number is too easily dialled instead of scrolling up or down.
If this can be fixed I'd love to use it as my default dialled.

It is faster than go dialer (on my phone) it shows list of contacts a little bit different and many more
Fortunatelly there are other dialer apps which you can choose and everyone has a choice
I didn't find any dialer which i would like and that is why i created this app

cos GoDialer is too slow, loving your app so far. but its only been a few minutes

I can see that it looks alike but i think if you'd want you could find more apps that are similar.
While scrolling contact list it calls the contact sometimes,even light touch to scroll.

AwayMessage is a very simple app that lets you ignore phone calls while not ignoring the people. For example, If you enable the app before you drive, and someone calls you while you're driving it will send them the following text message.
"Sorry, I'm currently away from my phone right now - (Sent Via AwayMessage)"
Or you Can now use a Custom Message:
To use the custom message feature do the following:
Enter your message, hit "set", then hit the Radio Button to "Use Custom". And when ready hit "Enable Away Message Notification".
This is V1.1 (Updated on 12/29/10) In the future we plan to do:
-Custom Message ( I expect to get this done within the week)
-Ongoing notification
-Preset Messages (Same timeframe as custom message)
-And a few other small tweaks

I think you should develop on a widget, so you do not have to find the program. Just one click to enable/disable.

Maybe in the future
That can be nice on another phone but TouchWiz (any Phone of the Galaxy S series) already includes that...i will wait for a stable release of Cyanogenmod Gingerbread for the SGS and i will buy it then because i LOVE this feature...

I'd love to see that, be willing to donate to have it detect the incoming calls from GV and then use GV to send txt messages out instead of the native messaging client.
Tried it on CM6.

I had that feature in the prior versions. I decided to take it out because it was a bit inconsistent, since the android API post 2.2 (froyo) doesn't garentee the app you're trying to kill will be immediately terminated at your request.

Thanks for the feedback. My primary focus has been on feature completeness, and usability.
For the future updates, I plan to focus on polishing the app, both at the runtime/memory, and at the UI level.
Windows previews is a big one in my todo list. However it's pretty complex, and I'm still trying to get it to work. It's definitely possible though given the amount of screenshot apps in the android market.
Any hints/help regarding how to implement screenshot like functionality is definitely appreciated.

Im using it, then when i press back button it switches back to stock SE home and when i try to go back to taskarou either by pressing home(set as default) or selecting the desktop icon it never appears, only the options

There are a lot of great developers that alter apps to change their appearance. I like every app to have a dark background and because most official apps from big companies don't have that option, I decided to make a list of apps that have been altered in a way that they have a dark theme. I also list some alternatives. When there are too much, Ilike to focus on the alternatives with a Android 4/Holo theme. If you have any suggestions for this list, please tell me in the thread and I will add them.

Advise for updating
Don't update these apps through Google Play. 1 of 2 things may happen:
1. It won't update, because the app is signed by a different developer
2. You will lose your theme

I was considering it when first making the post, but Fast for Facebook always has 2 white bars on the screen,so it's not really that dark... I'm going to ask the developer if the colors of those bars can be customized.
Rujelus22 has some great themes and he updates constantly. I use pretty much all inverted apps that he makes. Good thread here!

You have your thread list. Tap on a thread and it opens the thread. Slide right for a new text and left for the thread list. In the time it would take you to watch a video demonstration you could just install it and play with it for ten seconds then keep or uninstall it.
That said it works nice, but is a little janky and stuttery on my N4. Nice concept though and looks good.

You should be fine freezing it. Although when you receive an MMS, it asks you to open the stock app as they aren't yet supported.

I will be looking into these fcs tomorrow, I believe they have something to do with searching through the contacts in the phone book. Are you using stock android or something like Motorola or Samsung software? Thanks for testing!
EDIT: just updated, hopefully will fix FCs people are having! please let me know whether or not it is working now, and if not, send me a logcat and i will do my best to fix! next update: speed improvements hopefully!

i'm sorry, i havent done much language support with it so i really have no idea how it would behave in Czech... it does break messages into more than one if over 160 characters in the english language at least.

Hello,
I've tried this app on my Xperia Z1 Compact and I have a few security flaws: The recents button is not disabled and when using Google Keyboard, you can long press the spacebar to get into the settings app. Also, you should probably disable the camera button. The lockscreen is a major security flaw too :/ Oh yeah, and I forgot to add that it shows the Sony dialer when calling a number

Mostly works as intended.
The main weakness of this app is that one can easily uninstall the app by going to settings from a insecure lockscreen.
A lock widget will be a great idea.

Can't emergency call be used in these cases too? or does android set a time limit/phone number limit on these calls?

Emergency call can only be used to call emergency numbers, such as 911 or 112.

Did you set it as the default launcher? This is the source of the problem most of the time. Also, it has to use the phone's dialer; there's no way that can be changed unfortunately. The lockscreen issue has been brought to my attention and I will create a default lockscreen to solve this problem.

Hello OP, I am a graphic designer and I go about helping others creating new Icons or just making their current ones a bit better.
I took the time to edit your current icon and make it look a bit more detailed. I sure hope you like it if not its fine I do this for fun not a living :fingers-crossed:

On the new icon I could not fix the way the top two icons look a bit darker than the bottom ones.. I may have to redo this process.
But it sure does look better than before IMO :good:

Sorry about that. Until the Android security policy changes, that's the only way your phone can be locked :/

Eh, I love the new icons you made. The thing is, the "x" was designed to show how the app blocks your access, which is why it looks squared off. Plus I really don't like flat icons. Make the red darker, give it a more 3D look, make a squared "x" and I'll consider it.
home button problems
There is a problem on xperia z1. I can exit app by just pressing "home" button (with "backward" button no problems).
