MIUI Going Open Source

I know this has been posted in other sections of XDA, for other phones, and being discussed in the MIUI thread itself, but just in case you didn't know, this is potentialy awesome.

I like certain aspects of MIUI myself (system setting anyone? freaking awesome!), but since I live in a "better than average 4G" area, I don't use it.
This might change everything.
Discuss? Interest? Opinions? Further information?

I would love for a Dev here to pick it up and see if they can make it happen for this device.

Best of luck. I love MIUI on my g2 back then. I always followed the devs work on the phone. So many haters said it would not work but now MIUI is a supported Rom for the g2.

wow this sure brings some old stories lol... good luck with dev'ing the MIUI for this phone and thanks! i have never been on a miui rom before cuz' this is my first smartphone but i liked what raver did so i would love to try it

So I finally was able to get it to build...
I used Valhalla final to work with.... Seems like most of the apps FC and the status bar is not working yet. I am going to try flashing to a stock rom with stock kernels and build a rom and see how that works....

Im not sure about the xda app but the tapatalk app sometimes doesnt show a respond/post option and the only way to reply is quoting somebody. But IIRC the tapatalk one shows the links. Its easy to backspace delete them.
Still no reason to quote like that. Especially when you only post one word replies...I mean just hit thanks and be done with it.

So AC3 is coming out after AC4.
Here is why:
AC3 I really want to have aroma on, it is CM7 based, and I really want AC3 to be my last update for the CM7 base ROM.
AC4 is based on MIUI.us ICS ROM
Download here (Blog link)
Install:
(Put the download on the root of your SDCard.)
**WARNING INSTALL AT OWN RISK
Installing 4KCM7 A4 ROM:
This will be the same for any of my ROM's unless otherwise stated.
Step 1: Reboot your Evo into recovery mode
Step 2: Select Data Wipe/Factory Data Reset
Step 3: Select Install zip from SDCard
Step 4: Select The Rom you downloaded
Step 5: Patience
Step 6: When it is done flashing, reboot.
There you go folks, 4KMod is now flashed to your phone.
Please post or email or PM me at [email protected] forums any bugs you find.

Unforgivably, No i do not have any of that, my personal beta tester Mr. Scott, will be sending me the info (he is the one with the Evo not me, I just develop.)

I'm downloading it now and will take it through the hoops and get some screen shots out.

Thank you sir. Even though I am a flashaholic there is just something about flashing a rom I have little info on that I find somewhat uncomfortable. Though I am very tempted to do it anyway.

Also all my roms have the same GUI. So screenshots from any of them will be fine. AC2 WORKS BEST. At least that's what my tester Scott said.

Yes, please clarify! Are you saying that the Atrix 2 has some form of ICS? Did you pull it from Cheesecake, or...?
As to how to root it just trial and error. I'm not sure if Motofail (our 2.3.6 exploit) would still work. It's worth a try though. One sure way to root is to downgrade GB, root it, edit your /system/bin/mount_ext3.sh, then update.

We can't help with root when nobody else has the firmware itself. It would be nice to know how and where you got it.

Anyways, on to rooting. It's possible that no exploits at the moment will work. A couple you might want to try that I've found after a quick google search :
-TPSparkyRoot probably won't work
-Mempodroid (find the offsets with n95-offsets) also probably won't work
-RootICSRazr
How exactly did you recieve this firmware? Was it as an update.zip, fxz, or did you recieve the phone with it?

if this is actually real please verify. you cannot screenshot without root, but take a picture with a camera showing it. please give more info, as this is a huge deal if it is real. if you are just trolling, this is not funny, and should be deleted before we make a moderator do it for you.

Actually, he can screenshot if he actually has ICS. There's a button combination.

Can you define development, and how the team will go about it?

Like every team works...no one is 100% perfect...so if anyone in my team know how to build kernel i will assign that job to him...
I have little bit knowledge abt graphics too ...so i can do that stuff...

just thought about it why not flash a pre assembled keybored from 2.2.1 to this?
although its probably not the issue its most likly some to do in the phones main framework

I'm dying to try even just an alpha build

If windixi posts back about what the keyboard issue is, we should talk to Ric. He messed with a lot of framework things or maybe Sammuel. He did a lot of work with the keyboard as well.

Ric is mainly a themer not a dev (atleast he points tha out a lot) plus he is busy with life just like bduv
Then figuring that the sidekick is unique to the point that there are 2 leds a key board an the keypad / track pad this make an issue of being a 100 percent update as a lot of stuff may be missing or gone (play store will need to pick up the 2.3.3)
Its a lot of issues for noobs so to speak to use the rom which is why its not released for downloads cuz someone won't read an just update
