hello, I just flashed CM7 and for the first few reboots, it worked fine. but after installing other programs and did a "fix permission" in ROm Manager, reboot no longer works. It just shuts down the phone.
I used to be on EB froyo and I also had that problem, but once in a while it would reboot. Now it just shuts down all the time. anyone having this problem as well?
Same here does not reboot. i have to manually turn it on again.

This is a known issue. My understanding is that it has something to do with the Tegra chipset and can not be addressed until Nvidia releases it's source code.

Is this the right place to post this?
Inspire 4G Rooted, S-OFF, Clockworked with Bubby's One Click, and attempted to flash CM7.
I can make it past the set up, all the way into the phone. Shortly after, it will just kind of randomly freeze up and go through the boot animation again and then take me to a lock screen. I can unlock it and go back into the phone, but it will almost immediately freeze and go back to the boot animation again.
Flashed 3 times, once on RC2 and twice on RC3, using ROM Manager 3.0.1.0, Clockwork 3.0.0.6, wiping data and cache each time.
Please help!
Did this happen when you were turning on Wifi?
Now that I think about it, the most recent flash I did, yes it did occur when I turned on Wifi...but I am not sure about the other times.
What would wifi have to do with it?

Its a known niggle with almost every CM build. It doesn't like wifi on the first boot. Let it come to the launcher screen and then reboot the phone. Things should go smoothly after that.
same thing happened to me. I just rebooted it a few times and problem solved. Had no idea that wifi was the problem though.
Awesome! Flashing now...
This works!!
Thanks again guys...
So I flashed jts kernel last night everything worked great...woke up this morning and stuck on boot logo...my phone has the lag fix enabled...can I use a stock rom without kernel to fix the issue??

Re.
Great post, I'm having the exact same problem. When I turn my phone on I get Samsung for 30 minutes non-stop. If i plug into wall or computer the charging batter shows up with no juice and the wheel to check battery life but this time its not moving. I tried to reflash my kernel but it didn't boot. Instead I got the connect to computer logo im not sure what to do. Please help. Also I was in the process of restarting for the new update but it just got stuck on Samsung and here we are
I used this method below to force the device into downloading mode
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=929326
then i flashed the odin package below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1116867
then it works now
I also had lagfix enabled when something happened and I was stuck on the Samsung logo. I looked for a ROM that has the Voodoo lagfix properties (Altered Beast) and flashed that. On first boot it went into recovery, so I disabled the lagfix. Then when it booted I flashed the rooted ED1 so I could flash the EE4 OTA (for the radio).
Note: During the EE4 upgrade, it will look like it hangs at the middle point. Just wait it
out and it'll finish on its own.
I used Odin (in a VM) for the downgrade since I was unsuccessful with Heimdall (I only have Macs).
So yeah, I flashed the rooted ED1 and Voodoo within 9 hours after getting the phone. Everything was going fine until I got the EE4 update notice this morning. Without thinking (I had just woke up) I tried to install it. It rebooted and was stuck in Samsung several tries for as long as I would wait it out. I finally ran Odin again and reflashed the rooted ED1 image and Voodoo again.
My only issue now is that I cant get anything from the Market to download. It says Starting Download then immediately disappears from the notification bar and wont install/update anything. Same results downloading straight from the Android Market website. So Im just trying to figure out this now. Installing new market versions hasnt solved the problem, and neither has the clearing of cache and any other trick.
i had the same issue, cache did not mount in none voodoo system, voodoo never converted it back. flash with this odin package in the form it corrected my issue

weird....
well as weird as it sounds i was still able to get into download mode even though it was stuck on the samsung logo....what i did was flash the yellow cwm because i hadnt flashed it, after it installed i was able to get into recovery...i tried to disable the lagfix via cwm and nothing happened it just booted like normal only difference was the the low battery sound went off continuously for like 3-5 mins as it booted up..and the battery was like at 75%.... then i walked away from the phone for maybe 5 mins cause i had a customer walk in and when i returned it had rebooted itself into the triangle with the android in it...did a battery pull and rebooted like normal then randomly like 20 mins later did the same thing...reflashed jts kernel to see if that would fix it and it was a no go....still same issue...i know its a lot of stuff to take in, my main concern however would be how to force disable voodoo so that i can just try and start from scratch..any takers?? and thanks for the replies earlier guys I was beginning to think it was only me with these issues..I appreciate all the help and feedback
EDIT* just though about it..could I just take out the memory card and load it into my computer and do the whole disable-lagfix thing in the voodoo folder to achieve my goal??? then just start from scratch?
Hello all,
I'm having a weird issue with my gtablet. I recently sent it to US Merchants to get it serviced because it had that weird repeating noise issue. Out of the box, it came with stock 1.2-4349 and was working fine. I proceeded to flash the ROM with Vegan-tab GE, but after I did so, it started randomly rebooting. It wasn't a full reboot however; upon reboot i would not see the "three birds" screen but only the ROM splash page (flashing Vegan-tab GE logo). Upon reading the boards here on XDA and reading the references on the "Gtablet for Dummies" site. I thought that maybe repartitioning was the answer. I proceeded to use the advised settings (2048/0), rebooted the gtablet, but still experienced the same problem. From that point on I tried everything that was advised on the boards:
Gtablet format
NVFlash 1.2
flashed ROM to CM7 (still had random reboot issues)
NVFlash 1.1
flashed Rom to Vegan-Tab G (just for giggles, but still had reboot issues)
NVFlash 1.2 and back to stock 4349
And now, I'm having a problem with the wireless adapter; when I turn the unit on, the wireless adapter is off. When I try to turn it on, a message pops up "Unable to scan for networks" and the wireless adapter turns off.
So if anyone has any ideas, I'll be happy to try anything. Otherwise, looks like I'm sending this one back. Again.
Thanks all!
That's a soft reboot. It happens when you have software incompatibility. there's an app you're using that's not compatible.
no apps?
Hi goodintentions,
thanks for the reply. unfortunately this is happening before i install anything. Right after I flash a new ROM, the roboot occurs before I have a chance to install anything.
Have you used cwm to wipe data factory reset?
I love everything about the SK4G but the constant reboots is it's only Achilles Heel. I've tried installing the Glorious Overdose V2 ROM on it, and the phone has seen overall improvement but the reboot problem has not been fixed and everytime I open an application or playing games it will freeze and then reboot. Can anyone suggest a ROM they're using that has helped with the reboots occurring all the time?
Try GingerClone, it's one of the lighter roms.
trying a different rom might help, but chances are if you flashed a rom and the problem persists, then flashing another rom may not help. I had the same problem with the stock rom. my phone rebooted every 15 minutes to a half hour for almost a whole working day. finally I shut the phone off, booted into CWM recovery, clicked on advanced, and ran fix permissions. I suggest that you not use a program or script to boot into CWM, because I have tried that and it doesnt work. after I ran fix permissions, the endless rebooting stopped. if you like the rom you're on, try fix permissions and see if it works. you really dont have anything to lose. if it doesnt work, just flash another rom. I recommend fix permissions a lot, because it has worked for me many times.
After I recently installed someones rom. My phone will load to lg screen, then as my android is "optimizing app 1 out of 45" it shuts off and restarts, it's been doing this for half an hour now, i have it charging, i tryed unplugging it, it seems to restart quicker when unplugged. Anyone know whats up?

What rom hav u flashed ?? Did u do a clear flash??

after rom flashing did you reboot sistem or just flashed gapps an than rebooted ??
I think your problem is because of gapps, flash again and follow step by step indication from your flashed rom thread
It sounds like someone didn't do the necessary wipes before installing the rom.
or maybe is because of CWM recovery, some people had issues when wiping, and I saw some OP mentioning to do 2-3 wipes of everything
anyway, do 2-3 wipes and reflash
