bde upload of mtd miui 6/27 - Samsung Mesmerize

I just wanted to let someone know that I have flashed this particular rom, and it does work. I am having some issues with calls as soon as i make one the phone vibrates and the display shuts off and doesnt come back on. I have installed soft locker, so im not sure what the issue is. I am going to terminal emulator back to recovery and wipe everything, reflash, and apply the patch. Please note that I found this rom in the IRC Chat.
edit: I was able to make calls and the sensors seem to work. ill do more testing and report back later.

You have to flash the patch.zip after you've flashed the ROM... it's also linked there in the IRC, but it's not quite yet ready for public posting, when it is we will surely update ChromWolf's thread

yes I saw that in the IRC, the first time I did it it worked but with the phone issues, I redid the whole process, I came from mtd cm7 and used terminal emulator to get into cwm 4 and wiped both the cache and data, I also mounted the data and some other things that werent mounted. After that I flashed the rom and then the patch. Everything went perfectly after I did that, no issues so far.
Tested: 3g, wifi, camera, camcorder, market, xda app, music, sd card, gps, sms, phone calls, and sensors. Everything works. I even get the phone to wake from a deep sleep to receive in-coming calls and texts.
Awesome job guys!!!!

They do their own edits to make mms / deep sleep work?

For clarification, deep sleep for me works, as for the mms I believe that has not been touched still. I'm sure in the future it will be looked/cared about , but in the here and now this is the ****.
I always kicked myself for going away from my htc desire, every time I would see one of my friends rocking miui. Now its our turn!!!
Also, I am not using soft locker, with the edits that were made to this rom its seeming like its not needed anymore.

Still working flawlessly?

There hasn't been anything done to fix the deep sleep issue, it's still prevalent in JT's CM7 and therefore carries into this, I'm still using the softlocker app and "stay awake" options while charging to keep the phone out of deep sleep. The last big fix jt did was rewriting the sensors, so that is cutting down the bugs big time, but I'm pretty sure this is still an issue.
I will say that in previous MTD tests I had odd issues with data and SMS, with the 6/27 port it's running much more stable and I'm getting much faster 3G speeds than before (jt suggested we replace a few files from our specific roms)

AFAIK, Jt updated his overlay before building that, to include those files (it's just all of the files from system/etc/PPP/ from any of our pnp/stock builds.) check your /ppp/ folder and make sure it has 6 files in it

BTW just to be clear, when I said faster 3g speeds that was in comparison to slow ass 3g on the first few MTD builds I tried out .

One thing I have noticed is there doesn't seem to be camera led light working. Anyone else having that issue? I have been using a flashlight app for a few months and it just doesn't work.... the light that is not the app. I have tried other apps also.

[FIX]Incoming calls (any GB ROM)

Well I didn't want all the work and time I spent with the GummyCharged GBE to go to wast so last night I put in some serious hours testing and guessing
In the end I got er fixed...............
Looks like when the phone goes into sleep mode it shuts the radio off on the.. Assuming this was a Power Manger issue I went digging.. After trying to port the strait AOSP pieces and then the EEG ones (both boot-loop failures).. Then at last I tried the Fascinate's GB leak which is when I struck gold
I do want to point out an issue.. It seem that after applying this patch that your menu button light stay on sometimes after turning your screen of, this is completely random.. Eityherway it is worth the trade-off of being able to receive calls
As it says in the OP this patch will work on any GB as all GB leaks suffer from this issue.
To apply this patch simply install it via CWM

What rom are you on? We have tested and tested and so far everyone has had good luck... There is one person who said they needed to wipe before it worked for them

I am on your Gummy Gingerbread Rom. I tried wiping data and factory reset, cache, dalvik, went back to ED1, ED2 and then installed the Gingerbread stock, then installed your rom, then Installled the call fix, reinstalled after wiping and installed the fix again, but nothing seems to work, may be its my phone.
Dosnt work for me either on your gb2 beta. Puzzle lock fix works though. Not complaining...just giving you the heads up. Thanks for all the hard work!

Calls not going through while screen s locked was the problem, puzzle was not the problem.
Calls is still my problem. I tried changing the odin as well.
These are my steps tell me if i am missing something.
1). Went to ED1, applied EE4.
2). Installed GB Bloated with Odin ( that installed cwr)
3). Restarted phone.
4). Saved Gummy GB, Incoming call fix on sd card.
5). Went to CWR, wiped data and cache both.
6). Installed Gummy GB, installed call fix.
7). Rebooted, Tested call receive while screen unlocked. Worked.
8). Wait for 4-5 minutes to let screen get blank.
9). Tried calling and did not receive call.
10). Went to CWR wiped data and cache again.
11). Tested and no calls yet and so repeated the whole process without going to ED1. Still issue not resolved.
I suspect its my phone.
Ok. Toggle wifi on and off and see if that works. At least it will work if you need it. Toggle off then on.

question for the "doc" lol, saw where everyone was talking about the "not working" apps in the dev thread, can we not go in and remove the apps ourselves? I just went in and removed TiBu with root explorer and re-installed the version i purchased then went in and removed all the apps that don't work or not gonna use, or was that not something I should have not did?

It's probably fine.
After you reinstalled TiBu were you able to update? I know there were a few people that were having issues with the TiBu not updating.
I once heard though, that it's better to freeze unwanted apps rather than uninstalling. Something to do with OTA updates looking for the bloatware in order to validate that your system is not hacked/rooted. Anyway, it's probably not a big deal, just ever since I read that I always just freeze rather than uninstall. Unless its an app I put on there and or I know that it's not something AT&T put on there. But myself, I would apply that same theory to any of the things included with the ROM, anything I don't want I'll freeze rather than uninstall.
Let us know if that worked for the updating of TiBu.

i could not update the TiBu that came with the rom but once I removed it and re-installed from market then the key no problems.. i did not know that about freezing the apps Ill remember that from the future, i just uninstalled the add on apps anyways I.E. ext4, reboot etc... so hope I will be good to go, if not gotten really good at odin and reflashing lol. Need to learn to just leave stuff alone and quit messing with things lol!! thanks for all you all's help and hope the development doesn't stop for the infuse.

I installed the rom, and have used it for a little over a day now.. I love the theme, and its def snappy, but has a few problems me and a friend found. We've both put the rom on our Infuses.
For a few flashes, my home button wouldn't work, but I think that was narrowed to backing up system data.. it now works for me though. On the first flash try, all calls being made TO my phone just got a busy signal, but I could call out.. My friend's phone calls only works when calling out. When he receives a call, itll end the call about 5 seconds into it.
He cannot turn his phone on while its plugged into the charger.. it wont do anything when he holds the power button. I cannot get root explorer to work, no matter what. I've reinstalled it, fixed permissions, still nothing. I now use another app to access it. When ever I get a new email and notification, my phone will freeze and reboot. I've had quite a few random reboots today as well, with my friend having only a few. It even rebooted while in the middle of a phone call.
I've tried a few different kernels, but not sure if i know when it installs correctly other than the phone boots up... I know the voodo kernel hasnt worked at all... itll sit on the samsung screen for at least 30 mins a few different tries.

Sounds like you have a bad flash. I'd start over, make sure you do your proper wiping. And read over the Dev section there are a lot of additional steps spread throughout. I will try to compile them into one post when I get some free time. Good luck.

I've redownloaded the flash to my computer twice, recopied it to my phone twice, started with a complete fresh rom using odin that was already rooted and CWM installed, and wiped all data possible. I've followed all the steps, done reboots in between sometimes just to try something different.. I've reflashed my rom at least 6 times in the past two days maybe trying different things .
has anyone had bad battery drain with this? last night i charged 100% before went to bed, had JD running on aggressive mode, wifi anf BT disabled as well as setcpu no OC and profile for 400/100 when screen off.... got up this morning 6 hours and was at 38%, ive been running the rom for days now so i think its had time to bake but not sure what else to do? any suggestions.
Thats odd with the battery drain...mine has been doing great....so your saying it didnt fully charge? or it was full, u unpkugged went to bed woke up and it drained that much? that doesnt make sense...no rom should do that....check your runnibg services and tell me what all is constantly running

com.android.phone stops working? (Liquid Smooth RC9)

Hey guys, I'm a long time lurker first time poster. I've gotten into flashing about 2-3 months ago and a whole new world opened up for me. The ROM I like the most so far is Liquid Smooth RC9 with the gapps from RC8. No issues with the camera or video recording here at all.
I do have an issue with the phone process, though. Every time when my screen is locked and someone calls me they get it to ring a few times before the call ends, while my phone does absolutely nothing. If the screen is on, I do get the incoming call but a message pops up saying that com.android.phone stopped working. I've tried 4 clean flashes so far and they all do this, so I know it wasn't a bad flash. My baseband is the stock UCLF6 and the kernel is 3.0.49 cyannogenmod.
Does anyone know how to fix this? It sucks to have a phone that can't call lol
(P.S. I've searched the forums but I didn't find anything, I apologize if this has been asked before.)
Find out if other people are having the same problem on the same rom/gapps
If they arent your clean flashes arent clean enough
If they are then make sure the dev of the rom knows and wait for an update to fix it or switch roms
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
I had the problem, too. It was the reason I stopped using RC9. But, my radio was UCLF5.
I came to Liquid from SkyICS I think. Wiped cache and data as well as formatted system a few times before flashing. I didn't follow the developer's instructions to the letter, though. I restored the data on a few of my apps via Titanium. So if you used Titanium, perhaps you might try not using it if you flash again?
Would also love to know if someone has a solution to this. It was a great rom other than that issue.
I had the same problem and went through everything. My solution: settings - apps - go to phone then clear data. Don't worry nothing will be deleted only your call log.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
Yeah I actually did use Titanium Backup, which might indeed be the culprit. Now I think about it, the phone was working just fine because I made a phone call to my wife right after flashing, then after getting all my apps back on there it just stopped working. And one of those apps was TB which was also used to restore some other apps.
The clearing of the phone data seems like an excellent idea as well, wish I'd have thought of that.
I ended up ditching Liquid Smooth and flashing a CM10 nightly with the working Google Now. If I go back to Liquid Smooth I'll try the above suggestions and post back here if those work
Thanks for the replies guys.

I also have RC9 with UCLF6 and many times when I answer a call it auto hangs up. My messenger stops working semi-frequently as well. IMO, try clearing the phone data and flash Liquid Smooth, especially if you get bad battery life with CM10 as I did.

I had some reboots without ever inserting a SIM, mostly while restoring apps from SD via titanium pro, so it might not be just data related.

sweet! i will have to pick this phone back up and use it again.....
Here's something that may go for dev-bug, but...
I wiped my phone and applied the SlimBean R2 installer as well as the SlimGApps. Full factory reset, all that fun. So hopefully no remnants causing these symptoms:
Yesterday I ran Waze (driving/mapping app) on my SlimBean for ~45 minutes without ever getting a GPS lock. Rebooted, tried again for another 30 minutes. No GPS connection.
The GPS Status app says that it's not seeing any satellites at all... so apparently my GPS isn't even trying, as my phone with ICS normally sees 10-12 satellites here. After testing with GPS Status, reflashed SlimBean, reflashed SlimGApps, checked GPS Status again. Still not a single satellite seen. Recovery, flashed YAGF2.zip (Yet Another GPS Fix 2), system, GPS Status, still nothing.
I should probably note that the cell location has been working... Waze was giving guesses as to where I was currently located based on my cell towers. Obviously Wifi location isn't working without Wifi, so the question I have is... are other people using JB actually having GPS satellite locks, or is this another current JB bug? I ask because OP doesn't mention GPS issues, though people reported reboots when GPS tries to take effect. The only GPS thing I did before was making sure that Internal GPS was actually set as the GPS source in Location services, since that wasn't checked... Internal GPS was the only option, but it wasn't checked.
If you need logs or something, let me know what you'd like. Thanks.

Reboot to recovery, flashing agps.patch.google.build.nossl.twrp.v3.1.zip, reboot to system, GPS Status sees...
Nothing. Still just "Looking for GPS location..." with no Compass (heading stays at 0 degrees) or satellites seen.
One more thing. I know it's been noted that the phone audio only works through the speaker, but music also only comes out through the speaker. At least, plugging into the headphone jack didn't make MortPlayer Audio Books actually come out through the car's sound system, it was still coming out of the speaker.

Read the notes if it doesn't work, let the GPS stay on. Try other methods on the notes.
Note 4:
This works with ANY ROM unless the ROM has aGPS and/or GPS disabled in the code. This happens with CMx nightlies and some betas! I cannot fix this, neither can you.

So... as I'm asking, has anyone actually confirmed that GPS (not location services, but GPS itself) is enabled and working? The build.prop tweak that it suggests (Note 13) doesn't appear to apply, since neither this nor ICS (AOKPm6r5) have the ro.ril.def.agps.mode forced.
Also, note that as I said before, I've let GPS Status or Waze run for going on an hour without it seeing a single satellite... GPS is NOT ENABLED on my JB. Just like Wifi, except it's marked as 'on'. I'm wondering if this is my phone hating life and needing to offer up some logs, or if this is a standard issue. -_-
That being said, when I turned off GPS and just used cell location, I had my first random reboot on second location services call (Yelp's location check). After it finished rebooting, told it to start trying to use GPS again and it went back to just guessing wildly as to my location based on cell towers without ever using GPS (GPS Status never showed in the notification bar, no little coda to signify GPS lock attempt), but also without the reboots, so that was nice.

Has anyone encountered this voice mail bug?

Hey all,
Ugh, didn't mean to post yet!
I just updated from CM9 to 10.2 in the hopes it might fix this bug, but it didn't. I suspect then that it's not ANYTHING to do with a ROM per se but I'm perplexed as to what it is.
The behaviour is:
- I get a voice mail
- After listening to the voice mail, deleting it, and hanging up, the notification doesn't disappear
- Some time later, I get a repeat notification of the voice mail
- During this time, I can't receive any texts
- About a DAY later, the phone will realize that voice mail actually has been deleted
I've tried searching xda, and I've tried general googling, but I haven't pinned anything down. I've seen some references to what might be a similar bug, but not with these ROMs, and... honestly a couple of YEARS ago.

I have not seen this on any of my T-Mobile phones....did you do a full wipe before flashing CM10.2..
Which 10.2 Rom did you flash..
You Might have to one-click back to
stock.
That should fix it..then work back up.

Well, I did do a factory reset.
Is resetting to the stock ROM actually guaranteed to, well, basically format /system?
(Oh, and I flashed this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451317 )
P.S. see here for someone's... probably unorthodox solution to the problem. Basically seems to be forcing # of voice mail notifications to 0. Which isnt really what I want, anyway.

That looks like a work-around not a solution. .
Yeah if you odin back to stock...
Its a guarantee it will format your system partition..
Try gremlin remover its always worked for me and odin is pretty simple..follow the OP its a one-click pre-made odin setup so dont change anything and your good.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500427
Once your back to stock...
And the problem is fixed.
I always went to Team Acids CM9.
Let the partitions convert..
Then on to CM10.2 or whatever..
Never had a problem this way..

Unfortunately, I have the 959W rather than the 959V so I can't use it.
And I remember upgrading from gingerbread to CM9 was a lot tougher than I expected (I think getting the drivers to work right) and I had to get a LOT of help from a member here on the forum. IIRC there were a lot more reboots required of the phone / my PC to get things to work.
All in all I probably shouldn't mess around with ROMs. Hardware problems make me angry and frustrated.

O..didn't know you had the T959w..
Well I have seen something similar
On the Samsung GS4G Blaze..
They had a call fowarding bug that was carrying over on Roms..
It was something in CM11 that they
Figured was being written on the
Sim Card..and it was even carrying over to any Rom you flashed..
Once you got it... it didn't matter
what Rom you installed
full wipe or not it stuck..
They have Offical CM11 and the
CM team fixed it..but I remember it took a couple weeks..
Have you tried getting another
Sim Card..couldn't hurt..
Have you tried Force closing the
Phone Apk.and clearing data..
Also found this..
Here's what just worked for me on my Tmobile Galaxy S III
1) Pull the battery
2) Wait a few minutes with the battery out (I waited 5 minutes)
3) Pull the SIM card
4) Replace battery and power up phone. Wait until phone is fully booted
5) Power down phone
6) Replace SIM card and power up
Annoying VoiceMail icon is now gone.
BTW.. I hate the voice mail notification...
I wish people would
Never leave me a voice mail..LOL..

Oh huh, I missed your reply till now.
I think force closing the phone app and clearing caches works but ONLY temporarily and then the problem reoccurs (when the phone decides to check for more voice messages?)
Man if this was something being written on the sim card and not a ROM thing that'd be really annoying. But couldn't I "just" wipe the whole sim card? That's gotta be possible, right?
I'm trying the pull-battery-and-sim-card just to see what happens.
On the plus side I found some old posts of mine on the forum and realized that I only ever used this new computer for flashing stuff. So I just have to figure out which USB port worked last time... the usb drivers should still be installed and everything.
^ Just curious what modem are you using? Is it patched to work on MTD partitions layout? Is it the stock one from Wind the Canadian carrier?
Try using modem LB6 for 959w/v patched to work for mtd roms, hope this will fix the issue.

I believe I am using the LB6 - certainly, I'm not using the stock. (The only confusion is that I've got zip files on my PC for the LB6 and a KG4 modem.)
Whatever modem I have on my phone was working fine prior to some upgrade of CM9 (IIRC).
God!!!
So I got Heimdall working again, flashed to stock, reformatted my SD card, re-updated to CM10... and I'm getting the same problem again!
So either it's the CM 10 ROM or something with my phone company! GRRRR...
Maybe the next step is to go back to stock and then just try CM 9. Or even CM 7 or something... put a modem on the stock ROM and see if THAT still ****s up.
Aaaaand stock + LB6 modem gets the voice mail notifications.
