Is there any way I may fix the volume rocker down press issue? Pressing up works with ease but pressing down really takes some effort to press it just right for it to work.
Thanks

It sounds like your volume rocker is slightly out of alignment, or the electrical contact switch located under the volume down button is worn out. You'll have to contact the AT&T Warranty Service Center at 1-800-801-1101 to do a warranty replacement. The last time I dealt with them a couple of years ago, they cross-shipped me a replacement phone in a couple of days. There's a chance you'll get a refurbished phone (it should still be in excellent condition though).

has anybody else noticed that the power button is becoming more recessed and a little more sensitive?

I don't notice it at all on either my i9020t or D720. Maybe you're pushing it too hard?
i use my volume keys for music very often, so thats a no go :'(
might be pushing too hard or too often...
just going to wait and see what happens
I switch on my phone and there comes the lock screen after a very long time to boot(Much much longer than usual). Any solution besides sending it to HTC?
When I click the the power button (not hold it) HBOOT shows up in which the power button also stops working.
Your best bet would be to send it back. If your phone is under warranty, then you may as well send it back before it expires

No actually it isn't under warranty

Explore the possibility of contact problems with your volume keys. Or the power button. If that's too tough, find the nearest HTC service shop & be not afraid of parting with a few dollars.
So my phones power button recently stopped working (think its a spring or something but it fell into the phone and depressing it does nothing) and I was hoping that someone may know of any ROMs that may allow you to reset buttons so that say the volume down button allows me to wake the phone. Currently I can only wake the phone by receiving calls, plugging it in/unplugging or removing and replacing the battery. I am hoping that I will not have to take it to a repair shop or perform the repair it myself. Any help would be much appreciated.

The collective's Redemption can do this through the rom control feature. Their are probably other roms that can as well but I haven't used them.
Sent using the power of the dark side.
I've had my One S since it's come out, always keep in a case and I've noticed it's been harder and harder to push the power button down to wake it up.
I see Expansys has a replacement sim cover here http://www.expansys-usa.com/htc-one..._productfeed&gclid=COvFrtXItbACFUMCQAodJx8-7g
This should include the power button mechanism but I'm not sure if I'm ready to spend $20.
And I certainly don't want to go through the hassle of a replacement from TMO.
Anyone else having issues? Are there possible solutions?
I dont know if there are any solutions, but I notice a difference too from when i first got it to now.
I had the same problem occur to me on the HTC Sensation.
Might just be wear and tear from how much you keep on pressing the button. A solution to slow down this 'wear and tear' would be to unlock the phone by means of the softkeys or volumekeys.
Just to add gas to the starting flame: the Nexus 1 had massive widespread power button failures...
how do you unlock from the volumerocker or soft keys?

The Sensation had a feature in some custom ROMs called Swipe-to-unlock, basically you swipe your finger across the softkeys and the screen turns on. Swipe the other way to turn it off.
But I'm not sure if this is also on One S ROMs
i had to exchange 4 of them for various reasons and only my last unit has a perfect power button that still works as new. but it would be great to have swipe-to-unlock just because how tall this phone is.

Yep, Swipe-to-Unlock is a great option! Hope to get it for our One S soon, and as sources are released, we'll probably get this option with some custom Kernels or additions...
Don't know if a "soft" solution is really good, but it will eat some battery for sure as the system is "waiting to be touched" and not really sleeping as it should be. Some has huge drain, some not... But I didn't test all these options, and not sure that they work with our phone.
Another popular solution for the sensation was using the Volume + button hack to wake the device.
I never had that issue with my sensation and after one month with the ONE S my power button still works fine.
(On his sensation) A friend of mine placed a small piece of paper under the power button to raise it and it seemed to work for him, maybe you can try something similar?

Hello,
my volume rocker is going for retire.
Firstly, month ago my volume up was not working. Actually it was, but i had to press harder and harder...
Now volume down is also infected, and stopped working normally. I have to press harder.
Has anybody experienced this ? Do i need new button, or also ribbon flex cable ?
I have the same thing here on my 2 years old ds... Though it's not really hard to press (maybe twice as normal), and is only on volume down button... Dunno about what to do...

Search Youtube for the DS Tear-down video. You can get to the volume buttons quite easily. It may be that dust has got under them, or they may need replacing. If they do need to be replaced then it's only a fairly small component - I'll try to dig something out for you.

Taking it apart, replacing the volume buttons and putting it back together will take you no more than 10-15 minutes.
I replaced the touch-panel in mine in about that much time
So is mine. Exercise your fingers,or use nails to rock the volume. Yer rockers are set for doom in about a year. No kidding.

I think this is the only problem of my good ol DS.
I might try the teardown when I have time.
