Hey There is a hidden feature of Samsung Galaxy S to capture screenshot without any SW installed
I have try it n working fine
You just need to press Back + Menu key
It will capture n save file in Internal Memory ScreenCapture folder
I have noticed that with ScreenShot It can not capture google Map, while this method can do it.
I am using Samsung Galaxy S 3.2.2 (XXJVK) - rooted
Hope this cud help ppl

Not really a hidden feature and it cannot capture all screens as sometimes when you hold the back button and then go to hit the centre button the screen you are trying to capture will exit (try capturing your quadrant score using this method - impossible lol).

Screenshot Feature Problem

What is the proper way to engage screenshot. Everytime, or most of the time when I press power to bring the phone out of sleep, and then moments later when I press home I end up taking a screenshot. Its extremely annoying. I want to know the proper way to engage screenshot so I don't do it. I have to go into gallery to delete screenshots everyday. Please help.
you hold on the power button before the power menu shows up, then press the home button. And I did notice the annoying lag sometimes that it would just screenshot when you just press the home button alon..
Yea i also had this problem. It is really anoying and i just could not figure out wat seemed to be the problem but it might indeed be lagg. Hope they fix this in a next OTA because my sd card is getting full with screenshots
Screenshot working, image file 0kb & APM script
I have managed to enable the screenshot feature in the build.prop file and deleted the Dalvik-cache, as mentioned in the Q&A # 25 of the ROM 3.6.3. Only, after taking a screenshot, the file is stored in /sdcard/DCIM/ but can't be opened as it is 0 kb. Is there any solution for this?
Does anyone know how the enable the APM, as this is an extra add-on in the rom 3.6.3? Do I need to change anything in the build.prop or is the setting located somewhere else.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Click to collapse
Change press volume to take picture ... then record video and press volume
im not sure if this is ur problem
Just take a screen shot when you pause the video.
Pause then click on the video so the menu desapper . Then take screen capture by hold and release at the same time home and power button.

How to get the extra camera modes?

Someone said there extra camera modes at the Samsung store? How do I get them please.
Please move to questions sorry
U.
While in the camera app, with the back facing camera on, slide your finger from the left to the right to pull up the different camera modes. Then press the + icon at the top of the screen.
or open Samsung App > 3 dots > my apps > all (if you had a Samsung phone before and download the camera filters, it should all be there). Forgot who provided this info but they are in the "Surround Shot" camera thread, so thank them.

Sony screenshot function ruined in Android 11

What just happened? Well it seems Sony (or Google) have managed to make taking a screenshot a lottery when pressing and holding the power button.
Before you would get a nice little screenshot button beside the power button while still being able to view what's on the screen.
Now screen goes black (seriously?) and a screenshot button appears at the top of the phone. Good luck taking a screenshot of a video or something similar, it's pure lottery.
Also before you got a sub menu after the screenshot was taken for a quick delete, edit etc and now Sony have managed to cover up the delete option with a mini picture of what's just been screenshot.
Pretty poor Sony, massive stuff up!
Or is it just me?
Well that's 2 posts I've seen to put me off 11 already . This does sound pretty poor. I use the power button screenshot feature a lot.
Does the Google assistant screenshot option work any better? Have to hold the home soft button and choose Share Screenshot for that one. For some reason pressing the dedicated assistant button doesn't show it!
You have option to go to All Apps View(Running apps pressing square from 3 button navigation) and from there you can take screenshot of that particular app.
It seems it's more and Android 11 issue (they call it a feature) which, for me, is worse than 10.
Yes you can now take a screenshot using the square apps button but that also freezes the screen as soon as you press it making video screenshots hopeless still.
I now have to use AZ screen recorder.
God I hate it when a company "improves" a feature like this.
Good to know about the new screenshot feature using the running apps menu. I guess for taking screenshots of videos then the 3rd party app option is going to be the only choice. Unless they fix the screenshot issue in a future update .
So I got the Android 11 update today and decided to check out the screenshot problem. I now see what happens with the black screen when playing video.
That said, the screenshot does actually still capture the video, as you can see from the photo I uploaded.
I guess it would be nice if the video didn't disappear when doing this but the functionality of taking a shot from the video is there. Not sure if that helps anything?
The little pic does seem to be hiding the old delete option you are right. Unless the delete option has just been removed entirely?

Ability to take picture when double pressing the power button on Android 11

Hi, in the latest version of the camera app i can't find an option to take a picture istantly when double pressing the power button. I'm able to open it when using the gesture but the new app lack the option to snap the picture once opened. Is there a way to install the old version of the app?
I tried to install an older apk with "app clone" but unfortunately it crashes on start up, no matter what option i select for the cloning process.
The feature they removed made my life so much easier at work so i would like to find a solution/alternative, anyone can help me solve this issue?
