will this fit into samsung galaxy s 4g (the one with inception)
will incipio cases fit?
or is there other good perfer cases or screen protector out there? such as outterbox and SGPstore.com
It would be a lot easier to help you if you provided links to the cases you're asking about. I checked out the incipio cases on their site and it looks like they're made for the Vibrant. As far as I know Vibrant cases should fit on the SGS4G since they have the same body. There's already another thread about cases here, I recommend you read through it to see what everyone else has been buying:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1040980
yes the vibrant one will probably fit, a problem that you could run into would be depending on the case, covering up the ffc
I personally would recommend the trident cases for the sgs4g.

Havent had a problem, use a leather magnetic case from eddie bauer that I found at Best Buy mobile.
Does anybody have or use the Seidio leather case for the epic? Just wondering how well it fits the phone or how well the phone slides in and out of it. Also how easily can the magnet be clamped and unclamped while not looking at it.
I bought the bestsources (seller's name, not necessarily a description, though I've had good experiences with them ) case -- I had one for my Touch Pro, one for my N900, and now one for my Epic when it gets here.
In the meantime, I'm using the N900's case for it. Fitting, since I usually used the Touch Pro's case for the N900... :/ I wonder if I'm even going to use the Epic's case.
The magnet hasn't caused any problems at all with the Epic that I've noticed.

The leather case is designed to fit a bare device so it will slide in/out smoothly, The magnet is pretty strong but works fluently with the case.
The magnet does not affect the phone.
I bought a leather holster at the Sprint store today actually.
It has a magnet, but it is not near as strong as some of the ones I have had in the past, but it still holds the flap strong against the case.
This particular case even has the Galaxy S logo etched into the metal in the middle of the flap - yeah its sexy.
$34 at Sprint, and since its Galaxy S Branded, I think it's a good deal.
For work purposes, I wold like to have a leather holster that can accommodate my Epic that has a Best Buy platinum case. Thanks!
I've also been searching for a side pouch/case that will hold my Epic with a case on it, but I haven't had any luck. I have the $20 Sprint Protective cover on my Epic.

Just as an fyi the best buy case is nothing but a seido case. While I can't specifically help you anything forthe seido case will work for the best buy case.

I haven't been able to find one that will fit. Why not just buy a leather case for work and take off your platinum case? This is just my preference, but on days when I need a more "professional" look at work, I take my hard case off and use the Samsung Galaxy S leather case with my naked Epic (http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/ET-OCTSBLNBBCC). Then when I have those days when Im doing something more physical and need better protection the hardcase goes back on. In my opinion, the Epic looks better naked anyways.
I have the Galaxy S leather case and be warned the epic fits very snuggly in it. Heck that link in the post above mine, I typed in epic 4g to test compatibility with the case and they say the epic is not compatible with that case (even though sprint is pushing it). It is to the point where I am thinking about trying the seidio leather case to see if it fits better. I am kinda worried because the seidio case seems like it might be a generic case not specifically cut for our phone.
So yea, I have the leather galaxy s case and I am still looking for a better leather hip holster solution.

I'm with Masterface - same situation. Epic is VERY snug in Galaxy S case and makes it difficult to pull out easily sometimes.
Anyone find a good working leather case? I really miss my blackberry case where you slide the phone in bottom first, lets you grip on each side to get it in and out.
If one doesn't come up soon I may go for the Body Glove belt-clip/swivel/stand/case. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=827717
Okay I am getting mixed information. I am wanting to order an otterbox commuter case for my new Tmobile Samsung Galaxy s 4g phone. Tmobile rep said to order the I9000 model otterbox as its the same phone.
But a coworker told me be careful it is a different phone and the case might not be perfect fit?

the i9000, t959 and t959v all have the same external dimensions... I am using a i9000/t-959 case on my 4g as we speak.
they actually have one branded to the GS4G T959V

Hi all, I just bought this phone couple day ago, I am looking for a durable case with holster, what brand should I'm looking for? Otterbox case dose not come with a holster.
Thanks
Just got off the phone with Otterbox. The poster that made direct link above is correct part for our phone. The case will fit if you order the i9000 model one, however the protective cover will block the FFC. This from otterbox.
I personally went with case mate, and it's listed as it should work.
I went in to a T-mo store and tried a case that was originally branded as compatible for the Vibrant but had a sticker placed over it that said "Compatible with Vibrant and SGS4g". I tired my SGS4g and it did not fit. The guys behind the counter even tried to no avail. They went in the back and brought back a Vibrant and it fit perfectly. I don't know exactly what kept it from working...but it did. Just be careful because obviously they are not exact.
Just a data point:
I can swap out the back covers of my vibrant and SGS 4g.
They are interchangeable.

FWIW, I bought a case for my GS4G that was made for the I9000...it's hard plastic that snaps on extremely snug, and it fit perfectly...
I have the otter box case for the sgs4 and it comes with a screen protector. It is $20 on day deal and ebay.

The physical dimensions of the phones are supposed to be the same; however, the button layouts are not.
I would say to get it though. An Otterbox Commuter costs about $30. You can get a decent screen protector for just a few dollar.
Of course, you can get more suggestions on this before you buy.

As long as it's a case that covers the sides and back of the phone, it should work perfectly fine. As everyone has said, the external dimensions are the same.
Another thing worth stating is that you might get a cheap case that just won't fit at all. I'd really just recommend getting the cases that are mentioned on this forum.

I would say anything from the Trident line is really nice. Aegis is pretty much an Otterbox Commuter.
As I don't have the Cyclops, I would say that would most closely resemble the Defender...

I can assure you they are. Anyone who says otherwise has never had them side by side. The dimensions are exactly the same along with the button placement (Vibrant and SGS4G that is). Any vibrant case should work on a SGS4G. If it doesn't fit, somebody is doing it wrong because they are the exact same.
EDIT: The one difference being the FFC as already stated by someone else.
Also just to give my experience with a case. I have the Otterbox Commuter and like it, although I wish I had seen the Trident cases first as I originally wanted a defender case which they do not make for our phone. I would have bought the Cyclops. I may at some point, but the Commuter works for now. I have dropped it once or twice and its still in perfect condition.
Yeah the cyclops case is very nice. I bought it becuase there wasnt a defender series otterbox for SGS4G. The only two issues i have with the case are that it makes it hard to select a phone contact by letter in contacts because of the thick plastic protecting screen and phone from a fall. The other problem (which could be considered a good thing) is that the usb and headhpone jack covers are really hard to remove if you dont have long fingernails. They keep the USB and Headphone jack super tight though which is good in case of rain or a quick fall in a small puddle of water.
I returned my SGS2 Skyrocket today. I will not be maintaining this thread. If anyone wants to start a new one, here is the source.
VERY IN PROGRESS - This is merely an idea of what's to come. Suggestions and help welcome!
Hello all. I decided it would be good to have one thread in which all the popular Skyrocket accessories were consolidated, but I couldn't find one, so I decided to make one. If a links to an XDA thread is greyed out, I couldn't find a thread for that particular accessory.
It's worth noting that T-Mobile SGS2 cases will not work with your Skyrocket as the speaker is in a different location.
CASES
Case-Mate
Tough Case - XDA Thread - $35
Barely There - XDA Thread - $35 (May be cheaper at Best Buy)
OtterBox
Defender - XDA Thread - $50
Commuter - XDA Thread - $35
Impact - XDA Thread - $20
SGP
Neo Hybrid - XDA Thread - $27
Please add this Diztronic/TPU-Case hard plastic 'wrap' to your list.
It comes in two makes, matte and gloss. For under $10, this is a must have case.

Is it Barely there in aluminum? The aluminum backing is garbage.
BTW Seidio has cases too!
Seido has 2 versions of their cases available, as well as a universal USB Stand.
I own the Surface and Active Combos and highly recommend them if you like a belt clippable case (The Active has a kickstand too if you are into that kind of thing)

Edit for Clarification: I don't own stock in Seido or work for them, but have had their cases on most of my phones and have had good experiences. If you like Silicone/Rubbery type cases the otter-box Impact was the first case I tried with the Skyrocket.

I like the ability to have a belt clip for each of their options, but SHEESH. Not cheap. If you buy separately, the holster alone is $30. A but overpriced if you ask me...but they seem well done...

Wow I really like those rearth cases. Never seen those before, kinda like the Seidio cases but the slim looks a lot slimmer than any other cases out there. Really wonder if either of the cases will fit in the seidio holsters. If anyone out there has an rearth case and knows someone with a seidio holster can you check if it fits?? Thanks in advance!!!

Absolutely let us know how they work (apparently some non-OEM batteries won't charge in the phone, etc). If they work, thats not a terrible price.

I'll check. Conveniently got an Amazon giftcard from my brother today, so I had to buy it, lol. It says it's for the Hercules, but the serials are the same (EB-L1D7IBA), so I don't see why there would be an issue. Time will tell!
Here are the links for a few of the listings. The one I got was the last one the seller had, so those aren't available anymore, but there still are a few out there with plenty:

I keep seeing these cases popping up online. Anyone try these out? Should I order this one or the surface case by seidio? I'm worried this phone will shatter if I drop it!
At&t Samsung Skyrocket

I havn't tried the neo hybrid case yet but i currently own the Ultra Capsule case in green by SGP (search "ultra capsule skyrocket" on amazon)
This is not a hard case, but more of a rubber type. I really like it so far with the exception of the slight glitter look it has (but I don't even notice is unless the light is right). I've dropped my phone a few times and not a single mark was made.
According to amazon people are having issues with the Neo Hybrid loosening up a bit with use, so I'm not sure if it will be worth the price or not. Sorry I cant help more!
If you do end up looking into the Ultra Capsule case note that the speaker cutout on the back does not match perfectly( however i did not notice a muffled sound with the case on)
I have the Neo hybrid its not a bad case it has a thin profile I used it before I was able to get the otter commuter.

I have a Neo Hybrid on my Skyrocket. It's a nice case but as others have said, the rubber silicone part is starting to get a little loose on mine.
My wife has an SGP Linear series on her original GSII and I really like it. SGP doesn't make it for the Skyrocket however. They said if there is enough interest it's possible they may in the future.
The linear series is like the Hybrid but with a plastic back instead of the silicone rubber.
