[Q] Recover cant mount /cache - T-Mobile LG G2x

recently my phone ran out of battery and when i connected to a power source and turned it on only to have it boot into recovery and in recovery gave me the error cant mount e:/cache, tried to do a nandroid and it wouldnt let me, then after a couple of reboots it booted into the rom, now every time i restart my phone it goes into recovery and does the same thing, i updated to the newest Internal recovery, but it still does the same thing. Any Ideas of what it could be?

sounds like what happened to my first phone, probably ended up wiping all your internal partitions , had to go in parted with adb shell and recreate all the 8 partitions on the internal memory to be able to flash anything on the phone.

[Q]Can´t mount /Data on my Nexus S

Im quite desperate here.
Last weekend i rebooted my nexus s, it was doing allright but after the reboot it got stuck on the bootanimation, so i rebooted it again.
After that the phone went black and some white letters informed me that the /Data partition was corrupted and couldn´t be mounted again.
I tried restoring with Nandroid but it didn´t let me because the /data partition can´t be mounted.
I tried flashing with fastboot but again, the /Data partition can´t be mounted.
What I want to do is to erase that stupid /data partition and recreate it so i can flash it with fastboot, or at least mount it.
I tried that with parted on ADB shell, but the stupid partition won´t leave the partition table, neither any of the other ones.
I´m quite pissed since I leave in Argentina and Samsung won´t change my phone for the problem.
Does anybody had this problem before and could solve it?

You can try "fastboot erase userdata" but that may not work since there is possibility that the flash memory is failing.
I´ve already tried that, but it takes me nowhere.
hoewer thx

Sad to hear that... most likely you are getting flash memory failure (board failure). Got any warranty left?

Help! Device won't recognize internal SD card. :(

Okay so I have a problem, I was on CM10 nightlies and realized I hadn't updated in awhile so I went to flash another nightly. Being the careless person I am I clicked the link and downloaded and flashed the most recent ROM uploaded without realizing it was CM9. This put me into a bootloop. I went into fastboot and did a factory restore to fix the bootloop but the restore restores me to CM9. That's not the main problem though, my internal SD card isn't recognized by the phone so I can't even flash another ROM. Please help. :3

Does recovery recognize your internal storage? Try factory reset, format system, install cm10 and gapps and try to reboot

Nope, that's the problem. I formatted everything already. Also, I don't have CM10 on my internal SD. I don't have any ROMs actually.

Have you tried going into the storage settings and make sure sdcard is mounted? And have you tried to USB Mount from recovery to your computer to verify that windows sees it and it isn't a hardware failure

That leads me to believe it may be a hardware issue. I'll see what I can find out
When you say settings app, you mean inside of recovery, right?
Can you see if you can mount the storage in adb

Oh I thought you meant the actually settings app. But mounting in recovery doesn't work either. And it shouldn't be a hardware issue, it was working just fine yesterday before I got stuck in that boot loop. And my phone isn't recognized in adb. :3 Everything is broken! Haha
So you can boot into your ROM, you can boot recovery, but you can't access storage..
What happens if you do 'adb devices'? If nothing shows up go install the aokp/cm10 drivers. It may work for cm9

Nothing shows up and those drivers aren't working. Is there anyway I can do a complete factory reset and then work my way back from there?

You can RUU 1.85

If you did a factory reset in hboot (as opposed to in recovery) it wipes your SDCard without formatting it. I did this once too, and if you're in the same boat, try the solution in this thread:

[Q] Wont boot, need help

I have a phone HTC Desire S
like a year ago I rooted it. Revolutionary method I think...
Well been playing with roms cyanogen etc
Yesterday installed Andromadus 10.1. It was great but the phone rebooted on its own and got stuck on the Cyanogen loading screen I rebooted and it happened again.
I went into recovery and now it says the E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command error :/
Can you guys help me fix this phone?
what details do you need?
I don't know if that error is about SD card or internal memory but have you tried booting without SD card? I think its probably internal memory, but maybe a dodgy SD card would cause that.
Failing that, can you not fully get into recovery to reflash the device? If the recovery partition is corrupt I think you'll need to reflash the custom recovery via adb fastboot command.
Edit: also maybe the cache partition is corrupt and needs formatting

Lollipop doesn't boot. Kitkat can't access internal storage

Hi folks.
I'm facing a really weird problem. My friend's N5 doesn't want to boot with Lollipop, it shows the boot animation, but nothing happens, more than an hour and nothing.
I tried to flash back to kit kat. It indeed booted, but just to say that the camera and gallery has stopped, and gallery couldn't find any storage. When I go to the storage section in the settings, it doesn't show the pictures, music and other sources, just available space, cache and apps.
I tried to flash a custom rom to, but they all give me bootloops.
I never had this problems with my n4, so i don't know what to do anymore.
Any solutions?
Flash lollipop with fastboot. Then boot into the stock recovery and do a factory reset. Everything will be fine.
Sent from my Nexus 9 using XDA Free mobile app
I've already tried that, didn't work :crying:

You flashed the factory image with FASTBOOT and still had this problem? You sure?
Hmm. Try fastboot formatting all the partitions and then flashing the image again. Can't hurt.

Yes, i'm absolutely sure. I'm used to use fastboot to flash my Nexus 4. I downloaded the proper factory image from Google and flashed it using both flash-all.bat and manual input in the cmd.
I tried to erase the partitions, format using TWRP, and install a custom ROM.
With twrp I can see the the internal storage partition, and even mount it to access by computer. But when the device boots, it just can't see the partition.
I put a song in the internal storage with twrp just to test, and when the device booted it didnt recognize the song, but when I got back to recovery, it was still there.
It seens that the problem is in the internal storage, but I don't know how to fix, and what could have caused it.
* Sorry, my english is bad :/

Try wiping cache in TWRP.

Tried that. I first used fastboot erase, didn't work, and then I use twrp to format to another fs. After that, I flashed the image again. Still nothing.

I have wiped everything lots of times.
It's the first time I have a hard time trying to fix an android phone...
Now I flashed kitkat image again. It booted but with the storage problem. Then I update via notification, and it stuck in lollipop boot animation.
I will let it booting through the night. Or it boots after a couple of hours or the battery dies.

Yeah this seems kinda crazy. Usually when stuff gets messed up like this a factory image clears it up. In your case, I honestly don't know what else to recommend. Sorry I can't be of more help.
Replace internal storage, nothing else you can do
Nothing worked in the end. My friend will send the phone to tech support.
Thank you guys for the help.
:good:

Encrypting device gone wrong, android and recovery broken now, seems softbricked?

So, I made a big mistake.
I tried to encrypt my device, but it got stuck at 100%, so i rebooted it and now it's completely messed up.
When i boot it, it asks me for a password, when i enter it, it says decryption unsuccesful and my data is corrupt.
It gives me the option to reset the phone, which is fine, but it reboots the phone into recovery.
But i can't get into recovery, i can't read it properly but as far as i understand it fails to mount /data 5-ish times and then reboots again and tries to boot android again, bringing me to the password screen once again.
I don't care about data, i have backups, but i just want my phone working again.
TL : DR: phone boots, asks password, says data is corrupted, reset phone, goes into recovery, fails to mount partition, reboots, back to ask password.
If i have to do something in ADB let me know, i'm far from good with it but i can at least get it working...
Edit: RECOVERY WORKS! I got that one working again! Problem is that it still can't mount the /data partition so i can't seem to reset/wipe the phone properly.
Edit 2: Device is up and running again. I re-flashed the recovery via the bootloader and ADB, did a full wipe with the recovery because the re-flash fixed it and the wipe fixed the mount problem. After the /data partition could finally be mounted again i just flashed a ROM as usual with gapps and problem solved!
The microSD was broken too but after formatting that with a PC the phone could use it properly again. Did take a few tries tho, no idea why.
