Hi guys/gals
I've just got my first Android game to a reasonably stable state, though this assumption is based mostly on emulator work. I only own a N1, so I have no idea whether this app will even run smoothly on older hardware. I'd love to hear some feedback, here's a market link and apk, enjoy!
Description:
Herd little particles of dust off my desk, racing against the clock. Either battle for high scores in time trial mode, or try and tackle 5 mazes (more coming!) in three levels of difficulty.

I have only compiled against 2.0 for now (and as a result there are some incompatibilities). In the future I will get around to making it work for 1.5+. This would also be why it didn't show up in the market for you, sorry.

I haven't tried the game yet but the instructions has a spelling error. You wrote "Normal - not to bad" when it should be "too." Just a heads up. Going to try the game now.

Thanks! I've also noticed the target image is wrong too...

Nice game aside from the spelling error, you can't exit with the back button in the main menu...

Galaxy S
I just tried the Market-version on my Galaxy S but no matter what game or level I choose I only see a blank desktop, nothing else. Home/pause buttons work fine though.

That's very interesting. Are you handy with logcat? Would you give me a hand if I sent you a debuggable apk? I'm afraid all I can give in return is kudos

Game works great on my evo (froyo). Same for me with not being able to exit the game with the back button. Home will close it though.

This would be due to me catching and ignoring all back presses . The reason I do this awful thing, is that if you go back from the menus, it will go back to the game, which has finished, and crash the app. (The game itself happens in a separate activity). If anyone can give me a tip on how to avoid this that'd be grand...

Looks fun, I have a Galaxy S so look forward to it's support.

Any chance of helping me debug? I don't know anyone personally with a Galaxy S, so it's going to be impossible to fix otherwise!

I could yes. Right now during the day I don't have a usb cable, but if I can do it all on the phone using terminal if needed that's fine. Later I could hook up if needed. PM me what you need. I'll download the app now.

[GAME] DUNE on Android : One of the best "point & click" ! FREE ;) !

Hi all !
More than 10 years ago, I was playing Dune on my compter ! Now, I tried to "emulate" it on my Windows 7 64 bits, but it's crashing so I looked around to make it work for Android, and I succeed on my HTC Desire HD (WVGA Device). Should work for all other WVGA devices, dunno for others !

How to ? Step by step :
1. Download and install this : http://code.google.com/p/adosbox/downloads/detail?name=aDOSBox-0.2-beta.apk
2. Get the game for free HERE* : http://www.bestoldgames.net/eng/old-games/dune.php
3. Extract the folder "dune" from the zip to the root of sdcard. Unplug your mobile from your computer
4. Launcher aDOSbox downloaded in step1 and then :
- Make Menu to get keyboard
- Type cd dune and do enter or hit the square with one inside
- Type dune and do enter or hit the square with one inside
- Game launched !
*I did not tried with the ENGLISH version but with the FRENCH VERSION HERE, but normally it's the same
Tips in game
- Personnaly, I only use the pad from the emulator + the square with the number 1 inside which is equal to "normal clic" with the mouse
- To save/load game :
> Make "SEE DUNE MAP"
> On the left down corner, go to yellow "ball"
> There, you have Menu with "Save/Load Game", 2 slots available
- You can also save when you are in front of the mirror

oh man, i got a huge list of good old games, i just need more space on my phone to install them all.
there are several good legit abandonedware websites, which will pull any title off if & when they become re-licensed.

One of the best ones I know is "Home of the Underdogs"..... Oy... Yet another way to waste my time.... Lol.

I was wondering the same thing, only way around it I found was to clear the app's data (via Titanium Backup)

At a risk of looking even more noobish, I can't seem to get a keyboard to appear when I start up aDos Box?
The keyboard is active when I shut down the app, but not when I'm in it?

I'm having the same trouble. when i quit the app the keyboard is displayed on the home screen. its as if the keyboard can't be displayed in front of dosbox

In aDOSbox, to make the keyboard appears, simply press Menu (maybe several times). Did you tried to do that?
In the game "Dune", you never need the keyboard

GTA3 on optimus 3d

Hi boy, i download gta3 , after download of data the game crash.
I have download sd data powervr, but nothing, someone can play with this game?

Works in the 3d converter did buy the game from market also say its compatible but after you get ingame right after the burning car the game hangs right before you enter the city when you drive your friend:/

Mine market said "incompatible device"...

Maybe the galaxy nexus version works on all sgx540 phones,because the game not work in sgx540 and to android maket rockstar games says "Coming soon to Samsung Galaxy Nexus" galaxy nexus have too sgx540....sorry for my bad english.

I tried it, What I did was open Chainfire 3D use the tergra files, Made sure "Disable MapBuffer emu" was ticked and then I loaded the game through 3D game converter.
EDIT: Hangs on just after burning car :/ Perhaps maybe it will work if we get a save file from just after the burning car?

I got a friend to send me a savegame after the first autosave and was able to load the save but the game still hangs after roughly the same amount of time of gameplay. Bit of a shame. Hopefully theyll update the game at some point to add support for us.

im download apk file craked and download in-game data file too, from my wifi. affter load RAM OK, ROM OK and rockstar logo appear. and then is turn off screen to black. i restart phone and did three time but nothing worked.
maybe we just need to wait an update from rockstar.
dont down load the powervr version sd data share by other website like approb. because i download and try open game but it alway ask me to download data again. i just down right version by wifi.

My LG Optimus 3D has the King 3D rom, a patch for overclocking it at 1.18 (and not 1.2 as the rom does... it solves some problem), chainfire 3D and the nvidia plugin.
installed the [email protected] apk, downloaded the sd files directly in-game, then reeboted and executed the game using the 3D game converter.
i also ticked "Disable MapBuffer emu" on the per-app settings inside chainfire3D. (not changes at all, ive simply tried to do as DyNaMiiTe as written...)
the game starts well, i can play for a while, but it's very laggy and sometimes freezes.
i think we have to wait for an updated version from rockstar...

Got Update Right now and i can confirm GTA 3 working on our Optimus 3d now and btw dont pirate good games this game is worth all the money! Since we got the update that fast and too support the developers! Dont pirate games that are worth its money

Its an app that allows you to run the original terraria pc game on android and is fully able to map to Xperia Play hardware buttons.
Sounds like he has given up perfecting it but is 90% ready. Here is what he has left us with.

Grab this zip: Conversion
Install Perl for Windows (Strawberry)
Install Python for Windows (Python)
Install your android device’s driver and adb (Sdk)
Extract the contents of Prepare.zip
Copy “Content” directory and main executable into the folder you extracted in step one
Copy Players and Worlds from “My Saves” (your save game location) to the folder you extracted in step one
Double click or execute ConvertCopy.cmd
Run the app, make sure you select xnb for the image format. Also no need for the desktop app at this point or dropbox unless you want your saves and content to sync.

I was actually wondering about this and how would a smartphone user end up playing Terraria. Hitting those little blocks with with a pair of big thumbs seems rather hard.

Has anyone tried it out yet - I never played the pc version but heard+read many great things about it.

Tried to play it today although (I know I'm in the wrong forum) My Galaxy S3 keeps forcing the close on booting the app, so I have no idea if it works.

Sounds like your issue is that the game conversion Sd data is not right as you should see the menu and loading screens in game at least.
Some people have been able to load on Xperia play with lazy load setting enabled but overclock and optimized ram (less installed apps or maybe use of ram manager/ supercharger v6) mite help you achieve this.

Its not the problem of starting the game itself.. I am not able to start the Branches app.. it startsup and closes after 1second on my Samsung galaxy S3.

It's not the full game but only an android .net emulator to run it on. You will need the original terraria pc game (convert it with branches tool) to be able to play which is not provided.

A little late, but...
So I know this thread is a little old, but I have a question here.
Does anyone think it would be possible to run the standalone Terraria server command line application off of an android device?
I think this would be great if I could take a somewhat older and weaker droid x2 and turn it into a terraria server host, it would greatly reduce the strain on my pc.
If no one really has an answer to that then I may just continue crawling through piles of useless search results until I find something.

if you can run the full game you should be able to do that.
By the way... how does the game control on the play? I mean, can you control the mouse with touchpads? It's not optimized, so it shouldn't work. If it doesn't, maybe gamekeyboard does. Did anyone try it out?

Hello, Thanks for the report. Officially we only sopport official roms. Anyway, I will try MIUI on my Galaxy S3 and I will try to reproduce the problem and try to find a solution, but officialy we only support stock roms. On stock S3 works perfectly . Thanks for trying the game.

Just started the first few screens. No technical problems on my Samsung Galaxy Note (N7000) - with my own Custom Rom based on XXLT4 for Germany.
Classical adventure with really interesting graphics style and already some crazy ideas to solve (the washing rat).
Will give some more comments next week (I fly back to Germany on Sunday and will try more in the 11h flight etc).

I have installed MIUI based on 4.12 (samsung base) and everything was working right. I whould like to reproduce your issue to see the log and try to solve this (even if we do not support custom roms). I will try other MIUI rom soon, which rom are you using exactly? A forum link whould help. Regards.
