Has anyone used JuiceDefender? I've been testing the free beta and I'm not sure its doing much (set to default balanced). The Widget just says n/a but I thought it should say how much power its saving?
Yeah i've been using it pretty much since day one with my thunderbolt. It definitely increases battery throughout the day. It give me a figure of how much battery i saved when i shut it off and its usually from 1.8x to 2.05
Using since day one with my phone aswell.. This is one of those Apps I believe should come standard on android smartphones. Not only does it save you juice, but the options for settings within the app are pretty useful aswell.. Deft worth the couple bucks..

I assume you guys aren't using the free version then? Looks like its not having much affect with me, presumably because the free one doesn't control wifi.
got a problem with juice defender ... i use it to stop mobile data and turn it on just when device is turned on
so when someone calls me and leaves a visual voicemail i get the sms message but the audiofile is missing ...
so the phone cant download the voicemail when data is turned off...
is there a way to fix this ??
Do you mean a mms message? If so, as far as I know, mms won't work with "just" wifi. Im pretty sure the data has to be on. As far as a fix, to be honest I haven't looked around..

Uninstall both JD Ultimate & JD, then restart phone.
Install JD Ultimate FIRST and launch it. It will ask you to instal JD. either get it from the market, or install the private beta, if you have it.
Once both are installed, launch JD.
I'm running it in Advanced Profile.
IF YOU'RE IN A 3g ONLY AREA, you need to check the box for "Mobile Data Autofix". It SHOULD NOW toggle your 3g data connection when you unlock the screen. It takes about 45 seconds because it's restarting the radio; but it does come back on.
IF YOU'RE IN A 4g/LTE AREA, no need to check the Autofix box. The 4g connection pops right back on IMMEDIATLEY after unlocking.
I have tested this successfully in 3g Richmond, VA AND in 4g Boston, MA over the last week consistently. I have also reported my findings to the Latedroid Feedback & Support Forum. The Devs have confirmed the sequence and are invesigating it as a possible firmware issue.
So, for now, 4g is working perfectly... 3g works with about a 45 second delay. And I'm @ 1.76x battery savings boost! Went almost 12.5 hours on 4g, heavy internet, sms, and FB app use. But, now, unfortunately I'm back in slow 3g Richmond!
Well, I bought and installed JD ultimate because of this post and I messed up my phone big time.
It seemed to work great at first, then I totally lost my data connection and even turning off the app and restarting didn't fix it. I finally did get back my data by deleting JD and restarting/pulling the battery etc but the system is still not right.
It is very laggy now and I will have to do a system restore (something that always makes me a little nervous)
I am running gummy 1.9.1 and I really don't want to redo the whole system, but I may have to I suppose.
I would not advise anybody to try this app at this point.
~John
I have been running JD plus on Gummy GB for about 3 weeks. Switches just fine and my data has been coming back. Why do you have to have ultimate? I have not seen any updates on my version either?
I think I must be lucky but it has been working for me.
I can't imagine how JD screwed up your phone the way you describe Jmorton. I doubt it's the app.... Ellisz, you are lucky! Lol! There are a couple support threads open on this issue over at Laterdroid. For whatever reason this is what worked for me. I already owned Ultimate from my Droid X, so that's what I use.

This is the ONLY change I have made in weeks and the problem started almost immediately. Removing the app did get my data running again and the phone does seem OK now after multiple reboots/battery pulls and clearing the memory.
I guess it may work in then GB ROMs, but in my froyo setup it caused all kinds of problems. Iwill just shut off 4g with my toggle when I don't need it and carry a spare battery which is no big deal.

I just stumbled on an app called "Tablet Talk" and I love it so far...
I've been looking for something to use to send and received SMS from my TF and this app seems to fill the bill nicely.
It's fast; just as fast as sending messages on my phone itself. The interface is nice, and connnecting is a breeze...
Just letting everyone know in case they are in the market for an app like this.
yes great app. the dev is here also

I use it all the time. It has really been getting a workout since football season started. My son lives across the country and we have been wearing out the airwaves discussing the talent or lack thereof!
I particularly like it's ability to connect both via Bluetooth and Wireless.
Does this use Push for syncing messages?
I'm currently using SyncSMS, which does the job at a bare minimum of whats acceptable. Currently it does not support Push, and relies on preset sync-intervals or manual. Also, even tho it claims to use ~400kb storage, it hugs an entire 38mb (!!!). Quite critical on my quite crappy x8 phone.
If this is in any way smaller, and use Push, I'm all over it.
Edit: Gave it a quick spin (15 minutes refund policy.....). Seemed to be running constantly with icon in status bar (no Push?). Relied on IP address to connect, making it tedious to connect when changing WiFi networks. Shame I did not get a proper chance to see if having this app running 24/7 had any major impact on battery life. Un-installed/refunded for now.

Which is great when you want someone to use two different numbers to txt you through.
I kinda keep my cell and text separate from my GV account, so this app may be what I need.
Yes GV is great but that's beside the point of this thread
I bought the app Tablet talk and am loving it. Simple, easy, and so far not a single issue. It was well worth the $2.99 I paid for it. I probably would have paid up to $4.99 for it above that I would have gone with one of the other offerings.
I leave my tablet and SGS III connected via blue tooth and leave the wifi just for internet usage. The small size of the app is really a good thing as well, since I only have the 16GB edition.
I would highly recommend the app to anyone looking to send SMS from their tablet, using their current phone number. For me it keeps confusion down with my contacts.
Yeah, I use Tablet Talk a little.. ahem.. I have over 6000 text messages in the messaging thread to my Fiancée.. And I use it ALL the time. When I have to use my phone to send a text I start to get the hives. It is by far the app that I use the most on my tablet. I have kind of a low self esteem and she is a HOT Russian (previous model / previous gymnast) and I need to make sure she thinks about me every 5 minutes or so..BRB.... Yeah.. she's still there. ahem.
Anyway.. Really is a great app. When there was an issue with MMS which I found right away after an update the dev responded right away and sent me code to fix it the next day and quickly updated it for everyone.
I of course just got her a TF700 for Christmas and I need to somehow get something that works with her Iphone now. It's too bad TT doesn't have an iphone client.. That of course would be the bomb.
Great app.

Yes, love it.
Very good app. You can sync messages through by connecting through bluetooth "less battery then wifi", if they are on the same wifi network "aka home", or if you are on your phones wifi hotspot "aka using your phone for mobile internet"
You can also sync all messages from your phone to your tablet so you arnt out of your conversation. You can sync anytime. Dark theme to save battery.
It is relly nice to text on from your number walking around your house while your phone is charging
I'm now too using tablet talk mine came with a phone dialer too for Bluetooth usage tho

Hey All,
Anyone having missed calls issues? I have been getting them for a while now but now its starting to be a bummer anyone know what the issue could be and how it could be resolved? Also phone is getting a little buggy :l Go Launcher EX stopped working...or at least the icons don't load...so I have switched so ADW Launcher for now which I'm liking but its just too complicated for me (standard user) I fixed my too long text problem with Go SMS Pro by making it split my texts after 156 characters I believe? Sometimes phone slows down...not sure if that's normal....Sometimes my Beautiful Widgets Superclock wont load either :/ but the weather part will....Phone used to die quickly im a failry heavy user but I dont remember it dieing this fast before, I have it on for 10 minutes...and I see the % at the top right drop from 100 to 87%... =( I just did a Battery calibration yesterday I think im seeing a improvemnt..not sure lol, I should have recorded how long it lasts >_>.Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I remember a fresh flash of Valhalla Black has all of the ringtones set to none. You have to go select the ringtone you want or it will be on a silent ringtone.
I doubt that is the problem since I have a custom ringdroid ringtone on currently. I but I will change it and see if I receive any missed calls... Let me try to explain it further though I don't receive some calls period. But I look on my friends phone and it shows that they did indeed call me... Sometimes message me and yet I received nothing from them... =/

Could be network issue too... It's not a uncommon thing in the cell phone world. Text messages too?? How often does it happen? Can it be repeated and logged. If so, try posting a logcat in the Valhalla Black thread for help.
Yea I know it can be but recently its been doing it much more before it was roughly about once a week? Now it's daily =/ how do I would I log this? Catlog?

hello viper and other readers. im noobing and guessing this is for a sgs2. viper can you give me more on the text message splitter mine is the same.
but too my main issue if anybody could help my sgs2 has had difficulties since coming out of the box tethering in wifi mode. i can turn it on and get other devices to connect but after thirty seconds or so the tethering signal drops out and i loose my connection. i have to go back into gathering and portable wifi hotspots and retire the box again. if i stay in the tethering box i can watch the tick disappear and my devices will loose connection again. i am running a sgs2 i9100 xwlp7 and have rooted the phone which seemed to lengthen the tethering time to a maximum of two minutes but it perfect the drop out 100% of the time. any help here would be appreciated.

Don't want you to start reading into the threads and wind up it not working.
Some apps are compatible but roms are not.
You have been warned.
Fully charged 7am in the morning, by lunch time my phone is completely dead. Using it on Nexus 5 4.4.2 stock unrooted on t-mobile $30 prepaid plan.
When looking at android battery info it shows talkatone at the top using 60% of my battery. CPU total shows it is using 5hrs, so what is it doing for that long?
Anyone else have this issue and know of a fix?

I don't really consider that a fix. Any info on troubleshooting or figuring out the cause of this would be more helpful as I know many users are using the app fine. Something is wrong in my case. Some days it works fine, other days it just eats CPU nonstop and kills the battery.

Talkatone is used to receive google-voice calls, greenifying it sorta makes it useless.
However, I have a hunch talkatone gets stuck in a reconnect loop sometimes when reception is low. Any logs or something I could investigate?

I use the google voice app fine too, but it doesn't do free voip calling. You can only text and listen to voicemail.
I suspect it has something to do with switch from 3G to my work's WIFI. Talkatone tends to get connection loop issues. If there was a away to log when talkatone starts misbehaving...For now I just have to actively try to monitor and watch when it starts behaving to see which conditions triggers it.
Maybe there an app that would auto kill talkatone when it uses more than X amount of CPU time?
I've been running the Zenfone 3 ultra for a week in US on AT&T. A few quetions ???
First off I've had this Phone (the 64gb, 652 model) running on AT&T in Illinois for about a week now. My Impressions are good for the most part. Screen is beautiful. Sound is amazing. Battery life is real good so far. Its fairly quick. I get good speeds, H and H+. But I also have some problems too. Maybe you guys can help me out a bit.
Texting is slow. Im sure its a setting but im not sure what. I've changed the APN to what I think it needs to be and took it to AT&T and had them check it over and it got about 50% better. But still not all the way there yet. Suggestions???
The thing tends to be somewhat of a ram hog. Would changing the Launcher help? Im not in love with ZenUI but i dont hate it either. Any way that you guys know how to trim it down a bit? I got 4gb of ram and it uses like 3 of that just sitting there. I can drop that to 2gb if i use there built in task killer. Any way to make this better? Is there a list of apps i should uninstall or disable?
Im not really sure about the Asus mobile manager app. I hear that task killers are actually harmful over all. Is that true? Should I disable it? Its actually baked into the rom so that when you kill all open apps it runs the task killer function.
With all this screen realestate it sure seems to do the bare mini um of multitasking. any way to fix this? A new launcher perhaps or a multi-window app?
Is there a way to root this yet and put a rom on it?
Thank you for all help you can give!

no I don't sorry. My issues came back, but I found that my issues were with AT&T and not my phone. At my house I get crappy service with data and mms. If I go to my moms house my data and MMS are just fine.
So your issues maybe with the towers by your house. AT my house I get perfect LTE, but it seems ****ty HSPA+.

I found out the issue is with the towers near my side of the city. I get slow to nonexistent MMS and even though it shows full on HSPA+ signal there is no Data to the phone either. If I travel away from my towers to a new set everything works just fine.
I was referring to the ads in all the apps.
