I'm running the stock Froyo with the Faux Kernal, and paul's patch. I started getting this problem when I restored to stock from CM7 with the Trinity Kernerl. The error will just come up randomly and I can't download apps until I reboot. I tried re-installing google talk but no luck. I'm out of ideas, and this is quite frustrating. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.
Try this: after you restore don't reboot but do a factory wipe while still in recovery then reboot. I had the same issue when restoring the factory rom in the development section and that fixed it.

I an restoring to Stock now, will factory reset in recovery, then reboot.
I also formatted my SDCARD and factory reset, wiped cached, delvik, wiped system, each 3x before restoring Gunman's stock.
If this does not work I dont know what to do. Everything has been flawless on EB and Ultimate (both Froyo), but all of a sudden having problems with Market.

Did you clear cache/dalvik cache/factory reset (data wipe) before flashing?

OK erasing data too worked. thanks!
You need to do that every time you flash a new rom. That's also why it's really nice to have root so you can make backups of everything
Swyped from my Nexus S
I got this while replying to a text message...
I've been getting quite alot of these, from even various applications. It's driving me nuts!!!!
Is there any (permanent) solution for this??
ROM: Gummy
Kernel version: 3.1.10_IcyGlitch_V14-BS_I896-I897 [email protected] #1
Baseband version: T959TLJL3
I'd be forever grateful if this problem could be solved... I really love this ROM
First I would reboot to recovery, then wipe cache, in advanced wipe dalvik cache, then fix permissions. If the problem comes back , I would back up your apps, msgs, that you want, then, wipe system, cache, wipe data/factory reset, and reflash. Maybe a newer rom.

This is a bug firmware, also sometimes a problem when using swap. I recommend flash newest ROM, they are much better.

I did the first thing you reommended, it didn't work and to make matters worse, ma phone doesn't pass the boot screen....
I quickly rebooted in recovery and made a nandroid backup - followed your second suggestion but i never made a backup of ma msgs because you didn't say so in the 1st suggestion... i can load new roms but can restore from ma nandroid backup
When you wipe dalvik cache, your phone can and will take several minutes to reboot, because it's rebuilding the dalvik cache. Secondly, wiping dalvik cache and fixing permissions wouldn't cause your phone to not boot. Between my wife's and my phone, I've flashed Roms, updated, experimented, fixed, stuff, etc... hundreds of times, and never has a dalvik cache wipe / fix permissions caused the phone to not boot. Hesitant to try to help, because you seem to be blaming me..... But if you can't restore a nandroid, it could be you're on a kernel in which the nandroid backup/restore feature doesn't work, you are running an earlier ICS build.

I'm sorry if i came across like that...
just that the phone is driving me nuts
ALSO.... it's the second time i am seeing where reboot take way longer than usual after restoring from a nandroid backup. I av done quite a few and reboot takes less than 10mins. I attempted one the other day and 2hrs 30mins later all i saw was the splash screen and boot animation, phone HOTT!!
This evening again, it looked as if it was going to do the same thing thing... it passed 20mins, i can't sit around waiting for that again
It sounds like a flash to stock KK4 (Full Reparation) would be your best bet. If you're already on G. B. bootloaders, I would recommend the NO BOOTLOADER version, no use flashing bootloader unnecessarily. After that, I would flash the rom of your choice, following the instructions in the O. P. line by line.
Maybe a lot more current rom.

Then I recommend re-flash the stock kk4 NO BOOTLOADER, format the internal sd, install the ROM again and install all the programs manually, not with the nandroid backup.

So I'm coming from Synergy Nightlies 73. Using TWRP2.2 I did the normal steps before loading a new ROM. ( Cache Wipe, Dalvik Wipe, System Wipe) Once I flashed the JellyWiz Beta 4 ROM the phone booted up just fine. However, it froze within a matter of seconds and I had no functionality. I pulled the battery a few times and each time the phone would freeze. I had to restore my previous ROM. Any ideas or has anyone had this problem? I really want to try out the new JellyWiz.

with cwm, it would be under mount and storage>format system/data/cache.
I don't use twrp but I'd think there's a similar option.
Also check md5 to make sure you have a good download.

I don't see that option(format system) anywhere. I went under wipe and wiped Cache, Dalvik, and System. I did try to select the Format Data but that option failed multiple times.

I've always used CWM without any problems until recently. It wasn't creating back up of my ROM. So I made the switch to TWRP which seems to work fine when loading other Synergy builds. I checked the MD5 and it was good. I may have to go back to CWM however, without a back up I'm afraid to flash anything.

Yeah, know what you mean about not having a backup. It always a hassel installing everything from scratch.
Have been using cwm 6012. Never had a problem making backups....or anything else.
But yes I'd try the system format along with clean wipe before installing Incubus beta4. I'm testing it right now too. Has few minor bugs, but overall very fast and slick

So I went back to CWM Touch 5.8.4.9 everything worked like a charm. I was able to back up and install Incubus Beta 4. When I was using CWM I realized when you wipe data it says factory reset. Which is an option on TWRP in the wipe menu. So I believe that's what I was doing wrong. Operator error! Thanks for the the replies.
I haven't been able to get wifi tether to work on Beta 4. I'm going to search the forums for the solution. Just wondering if you've had an issue?
I've just flashed the ViperOneS v2.0 from v1.2.1 yesterday, I've followed all the instruction from the thread. After flashing the Rom, it keeps showing "Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped." I tried to send a bug report through the Venom Hub app, but it keeps telling the there is a error and it is unable to send the report. Can anyone tell me how to fix it?

re-download rom and check md5
did you flash boot image per instructions, if under .13 hboot you may be able to flash just the rom and no need to fastboot boot image
but, you need to wipe all including system in recovery 2X and not in aroma. i have my best luck that way
also try a full rom install as opposed to custom, if you did a custom

I also experienced force close on certain app, is there any solution for it?
I've tried to wipe all the stuff and reinstall the rom, but the problem still exists. Is there any other solution for it? I can't even manage my contacts , whenever I want to link ny contacts, it force closes by itself.

Wipe systém twice

I tried wiping all the stuffs twice, but the problem still exists
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
also on fc's clear apps data for tweaks and hub
redo it all again, but this time wipe sdcard first. of course back card up before wiping, just don't restore. i think new rom flash will repopulate what must be there like android secure and a couple others. someone can confirm that.
if it don't work you may want to go back to stock and start over
Is it necessary to wipe the sd card also? btw, I've lost the 3G connection after flashing the rom, I can only connect to the GSM network and when I switch to WCDMA only in my network setting, my phone shows no service is available. Is it the problem of the radio?
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
i can use any radio and have no issues
start over with a fresh flash of 2.1 the upgarde manually
don't have to wipe sdcard
but if you start over with full wipe 3x including system. and reformat your sdcard before doing all that. it only leaves your phone. not all phones work well on all roms.
best to fastboot boot image
don't wipe in recovery and aroma, just aroma
don't use twrp 2.4.3.0, or what ever number is for latest--leaving work so kinda in hurry
after you boot first time, reboot and clear caches and boot back into os
claer data on tweaks and hub apk's
not saying you need to do all this, it just eliminates everything but your phone
anyway--good luck
I got the same problem and just reflashed everything and it worked.
I tried reflashing everything but the problem still exists

Over many iterations of Beanstalk my phone has had random reboots, sometimes hanging at the beanstalk logo, other times it will just freeze and i'll push the power button for screen on and nothing will happen. I'm trying to figure out if my hardware is flakey, anyone know an app for that? Or if maybe my installation procedure is the problem (it is posted below). I did a clean install of 1.205 yesterday and already 3 crashes. I wiped the dalvik and regular caches this morning after the 3rd crash to see if that may help. Any advice is appreciated. I dirty flashed 1.205 before and it didn't even seem this bad so not sure if it is completely random or what. Thanks!
Installation Procedure:
Flash Clean Wipe - Stock UCLB3
Factory Reset (Erase SD)
Flash Again w/ Bootloaders
Factory Reset (+Erase)
Flash Clean Wipe - Entropy Kernel
Factory Reset (Erase SD)
Copy CM9, Bean ROM, Gapps to SD Card
--CWM CM9--
Flash CM9
Reboot System (Do NOT use 'reboot recovery' in advanced)
System Hangs -> 3 Finger CWM Boot
Mounts -> Storage
Format system, data, cache
Flash CM9 again
Reboot
After boot -> Factory Reset (DO NOT erase SD)
--CWM--
wipe date/factory reset
wipe cache
advanced -> wipe dalvik cache
Install Beanstalk ROM
recovery reboots
auto resume install (if not flash zip again)
Install gapps
wipe cache
advanced -> wipe dalvik
After boot -> Factory Reset (Erase SD)
Also, I am not overclocking or undervolting, someone suggested that before so I turned it all off.
Sounds like your restoring apps and data with titanium backup or something. Are you? If so, that explains the reboots. I highly doubt it's the rom

I seriously doubt it is the ROM, not trying to blame it.
Trying to figure out if my hardware is going flakey and causing it, if I'm doing something wrong with the install, or some other thing I'm messing up.
I do restore with Titanium, but I only restore apps, not data.
The only other major thing I have changed that I can think of is the DPI to 182.
Ok the apps you restore, are any of them backups you made when you where on a gingerbread rom?
Like, say you were on GB and backed up some apps. Then flashed ICS, then JB, and then restored apps?

Nope, all backed up from previous JB ROMs. :\
Do you know any apps that can test the cpu/ram to see if it is going wonky? I looked but only found one that doesn't support the Infuse.

Use cpu spy.
It will tell exactly what the cpu uses and if it's going into deep sleep (very important).
I'm thinking there is an app that's preventing the phone from going into deep sleep

It actually hasn't crashed since I erased the two caches again. Hope I'm not jinxing it now. Been up 35 hours. 53% of that time in deep sleep.
