How did you manage to flash a ROM after using the s-On tool?
Last time I checked you can't flash roms with s-On.
In any case, I assume you've done a battery pull and can get into hboot, correct?
I attempted to flash a rom and now its stuck in infinite boot because the rom didnt successfully take... i havent tried to get into hboot.
So try booting into HBoot...
This belongs in Q&A though.

Sorry about the wrong forum...But I tried HBoot to no avail....
Remove battery...place battery back in...hold down volume and power button....that should do it.

Glad you got it working, but...
So in other words, you never achieved s-On. Why you were even trying to do that, we'll never know.
Then, you flashed a ROM that was possibly corrupted, which could have been avoided had you used that scary looking long-ass jumble of numbers and letters the dev listed next to the download in his ROM thread, aka, an MD5 checksum, to check the integrity of the ROM prior to flashing.
This, apparently caused a bootloop, which, had you read the stickied guide to flashing roms and solving related problems, located in the general section, you would have known you needed to pull your battery, and try to get into hboot/recovery, which you hadn't attempted to access.
Finally, you tried flashing another ROM, and you solved your own problem... Totally unrelated to the s-On tool. Or whatever.
My point is this: please do a little research before gettin' all crazy with your phone.

Well I was trying to do S-on so I could flash the stock rom for warranty purposes Sim reader issues....I overreacted once I flashed the corrupt rom and failed to realize it was the rom that was the issue...I did read the stickied post at the top and I tried the battery pull and Power and volume down but HBoot would never come up...It finally did come up and I flashed another rom and it worked...I feel really stupid for not trying to fix it first myself and I apologize for this VERY rookie like mistake and I know what an MD5 sum is I just failed to remember to use it.... Once again thank you very much for your time and Im sorry to be a bother

No worries.
Sorry if I was a bit harsh. Please understand, when people panic-post, they start leaving out details/events, so to others reading, it gets frustrating, because we only see what the text of someone's post shows us.
And it does happen, people who are clearly under-prepared to modify their phones end-up posting a whole bunch of new threads asking for immediate help for problems that could have been avoided.
In any case, glad your phone is working.
Oh I didn't receive your posting as harsh at all! But rather informative and helpful I just wanted to rectify my Panic-Post and let you all know I'm not normally this stupid!

Hi all,
I'm having an issue and hope someone can point me to the right direction (thanks).
I followed the all the steps from this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1052064) and after the rom manager asked me to reboot my phone and it went into the endless boot looping. The LG screen show up for around 15 seconds and went back to do the same thing over and over again.
Here are what I've tried so far.
1. Remove the battery to turn back on and issue still persist
2. Tried using the Power button + Volumn down to boot into recovery mode. What it did here was the screen shows the android guy jumping out of the box for around 20 seconds and the screen turn off, then the LG login screen comes back doing it things again.
I have very limited knowledge on android base so I'm not sure what else to try to get my phone back to life again.
I had a post on that thread to ask some other people in there but they seem to ignore my post so if anyone here could help me please, I would appreciate it.
Did you nvflash recovery? If so reflash the stock rooted rom (or any other you want). If you didn't nvflash the recovery you going to have to now to fix the situation..

Hi Squish099,
Thanks for looking into my issue.
I've never done nvFlash recovery before, so according to your response, you said

How do I have going to fix the situation? Sorry for my stupid question.
If you could, can you please provide me some basic steps/direction? Like I said, I have very limited knowledge on how android work so if you could, I would really appreciate.
you can try this

I searched and thats the best i found for ya. hopefully someone is more informed with your situation and can help but in the mean time read through that and see if you find anything helpful.

Unfortunately, I don't think he can do that if he can't boot into recovery at all.
@justin
I had the same problem with my old G2, I couldn't boot into recovery and ended up getting a new phone because no one knew what to do to fix it. Since you didn't use Nvflasher to flash clockworkmod recovery, you can't boot into recovery manually, you have to use the ROM manager app to boot into recovery.
I'm not sure what you can do to fix it honestly, I spent days searching for answers
Oops, damn your right ^. I misunderstood the wikipedia page =/

I don't think people can easily throw away a good phone like this. Hope there is a resolution for this very soon

Noob + endless bootloop + no recovery = brick

Ok so I just got me a New samsung showcase. It came with 2.2 installed build number sch-i500.ee25. Ok so i find out about rooting and all this so i start researching all about it. Here is where i am. I rooted with SuperOneClick. Worked fine. I installed ROM manager to get the clockworkmod but it did not work so I used Odin to install clockworkmod. That worked fine. So at this point I decided i need to backup the stock ROM. I try this using ROM manager but no go. it reboots into clockworkmod and gives me the sd card not mounted stuff. So I read and read and read but i can't seam to find a solution to this problem. I know there other people that have had this problem. I have read through the step by step guides and i really see nothing on this. Anyone have any type of solution.
Running on stock 2.2 rom manager doesnt work. You will need to go into cwm by turning off phone, holding power, vol up and down at same time. after samsung blinks 2nd time let go of buttons and you will boot into recovery.
Thank you. I thought I tried that before but I guess i did something wrong. Worked that time. Now if my memory is correct from reading that will not back up two things. The kernel and something else. How do I back up the kernel? Or am I just not thinking correctly cause I have not had enough sleep.

I had to have Kies Mini open and running on my computer to root my phone
First, Welcome!
Second, Download and familiarize yourself with a program called Odin. This phone is hard to brick. From nearly every situation you can flash back to stock with Odin.
Third, Showcase files are not common. Send me a PM and ill give you my email address. I can better help over email.

What will scare newbies off is when they start flashing crazy **** for another phone in the Phone box in ODIN or something and can't fix it by just ODIN'ing like you guys are suggesting.

I have the exact same phone as you. I just rooted my phone for the first time yesterday and I am having trouble installing CWM. Can you explain to me how you used Odin to flash CWM. And after you flash CWM, is it possible to revert back to stock recovery? If so how?
This is probably my first or second post here on XDA but ivr been a member for the last 6 months.. big thanks goes out to all the devs and everyone associated with XDA that helped me learn about this awesome hobby. Anywho i have a problem thats probably easily solved but i cannot figure out what to do. So bear with me this may be a noob question, My device is acting strange, i recently flashed the coredroid ROM and when i reboot i get my splash screen and then a blank screen... i wiped the dalvik cache and wiped everything else prior to flashing so im not sure it could be that, and i cant go into hboot to get back to recovery that way cause i have a radio.zip on the SD card and whenever i go into hboot it just asks me if i want to update by pressing up or dont update by pressing down, then after i choose ither one it wants to reboot...all i need to do is get back into recovery but at this point i dont know how. Can somebody please help me? Ive never had this problem before so im stumped!!! Thanks in advanced for all whom give me insight and point me in the right direction
Get a card reader take the PGIMG off of your SD. Redownload your ROM put it on your SD reflash.

There are couple things you can do. One would be to get an SDcard reader and just delete the PD98IMG.zip off your sdcard. You can also just take out the sdcard and boot into HBOOT.(I think this should work, I remember seeing this as another option to getting a card reader) Once it does its thing you can then put the SDcard back in and boot to recover
Moving forward, always delete PD98IMG.zips off your sdcard immediately after you use them or just create a folder on your sdcard for radios or other PD98IMG.zips you want to always have on you. Remember to always clear wipe data, cache and dalvik cache before flashing. First boots may also take some time especially after full wipes.
thats one thing i was thinking about doing, but as of now im broke till friday and i dont have a card reader :/ do you think there may be any other way of going about fixing this???? or is that pretty much my only option? Thanks for the input!

OP stated he full wiped. My honest guess regardless of the previous ROM since he claims a full wipe was probably a bad flash or a bad download. It happens from time to time.

If you don't run a MD5 (or SHA1 as appropriate) sum, you're borrowing against trouble.
I always calculate the sum when I download, and then again after copying it to my SDcard.

meh, I haven't checked a md5 number for ROM download in quite some time and haven't had any issues...when it comes to radios, well that's a different story. It's good practice to do it for all downloads but with ROMs for me I don't usually check it. I think I've had one problem in the last 4 months due to a bad download.

OK, that's what I was hoping to do. I noticed in the JB instructions that it said I must be a stock RUU not a custom ROM or something to that effect. I am on CWM 5.Something so a rom flash is NP. Any recommended ROMs? I.e One that worked for you? I tried the wire trick about 100 times over the course of an hour or so(on cm9.1), but then reread the bit shout the rom again.

yeah, Ive been running root since my MT3G way back when...couldnt stand how laggy that thing was with all the bloat... wasnt even that great with CM6 but still night and day better than stock (=hooked on rooting). then upgraded to the MT4g and now this thing... was fairly concerned about all the extra hoops but wouldve just chosen another platform had I borked it...glad I didnt, saved me some funds!
On a related note, what radios are you guys running? Are there any issues between the GB radios and ICS ones? Im assuming so, but with the custom ROMs/kernels anything should be able to be overcome I'm hoping... I know I def. had issues on CM7 -> CM9 on the reg. 4G when swapping radios...
I don't generally swap my radios around since there are only two that I'm aware of. But I DID find that the new one (when I replaced my phone) seemed to lock a signal a bit quicker but for me the original radio gets MUCH better phone reception. Depends on your phone I suppose.
(you'll be glad you went with this phone though. basically a Sensation with a keyboard)

I tried restoring my phone to factory settings, wiping my memory card as if that would do anything. please help it's all I ask!
Hi there, I have had this problem before. I am no dev so I can't explain the technical issue, but this usually happens when you flash a mod that's not compatible with your ROM... if its compatible and your ROM has updated, the mod sometimes needs to be updated to be compatible with the latest version of your ROM.
Reflashing your ROM will completely fix the issue. I hate to say it, but ALWAYS do backups before flashing anything through recovery!!!

He's not rooted it seems. You first need to calm down. Then, go to settings -> About phone and see what build you have. If it's 2.20 then go here. If it's 1.73 or 1.82 go here. If it's 1.85 then go here. Once rooted, if you have anything but 2.20 you won't need to flash the boot.img seperately. In order to flash the boot.img go here.

i am rooted on software 1.85 please help me get this stupid notification bar back, it happened when I used Metamorph to change my battery
Is there possibly a way to revert to the original through "metamorph"? Most tweaks or apps like this only work on certain devices, so check the reviews or description more thoroughly if it doesn't say your device.

That happened to me on my old LG G2X. I tried to do something similar with a different program. It was messing with SystemUI.apk. I had created a backup before it did its work so I just replaced it, rebooted and it was fine. Might not be the same problem just because the symptoms are similar. If you had an unmodified SystemUI.apk file you could probably just overwrite it. Worst case, just flash a new ROM.
But yeah, in the future always take backups before you do anything like that. I learned that the hard way a few times.
