This is probably more of a kernel issue then a rom issue. ANyone using BAMF 3.0 RC2 w/ dreamkernel 2.2.2 and a bluetooth headset confirm this issue.
When I connect my headset a Platronics VoyagerPro+ it connects to both the phone and media audio. I only want it to connect to Phone Audio and play sound from speakers. When I uncheck media audio then do a headset disconnect or reconnect (turn off and on headset) it reselects media audio to be played on headset.
i believe thats a known issue.
I'm on the same set-up, but I use a Motorola headset and it doesn't connect at all to the media audio. I agree that it is probably a kernel issue that one of those guys might be able to help with.
I wasn't sure what spot to post thanks

Here's my issue... I have a kensington bluetooth headset that pairs as both phone and media headset. If I'm playing mp3s and receive a call, it'll pause the player and answer the call. After I hung up, the music player will continue to play the music, but I stop hearing anything from the headset, even when the phone still shows that it's paired and functioning.
I've tried different music players and they all had the same problem.
I tried dialing a number out in the middle and hang up before anyone answers, and that works as the music will pick up after. The problem seems to only occur if a successful phone connection is made.
I don't think it's a problem with the headset because it used to work fine when I had my iphone 3G. And the music player will continue to play if I don't pair it with my headset.
Could someone else test this and report your findings?
I have the saame problem when connecting via bluetooth to my car stereo... I have to shut the bluetooth off on the stereo and turn it back on before it will work again... the control from the stereo will work but no audio comes from the phone or stereo

Same here, player keeps going but I don't get any sound out of my headphones. Have to toggle bluetooth off/on in order for it to work again.
Anyone have suggestions on how to resolve this?

I found that it has to do with the stock rom. I flashed the Desire Z rom and it resumes fine... Odd they didn't correct this in a OTA.

I'm now on CM RC2, and yesterday I received a call while driving on bluetooth and the music resumed after the call... so I guess it's fixed!

That sucks. I use it sometimes. If you find a fix or alternative, please post it.
Rhapsody and Android Music output fine through the phone's internal Bluetooth stack. Is there something special about SlingPlayer?
well the android music player doesnt work for me and neither did any other music player i downloaded maybe its just my phone? neither did i heart radio
I emailed the dev he said that he hasn't heard much reports from people yet and he doesn't have the phone to test with it. Personally I think it's the Rom we have. Once a aosp rom or CM7 it will probably work again. There are somethings my g2 could do this phone can't.

Oh, I think I just realized why must stuff works and yours doesn't. All the devices I've connected are Bluetooth Media capable including my headset. The first time the headset paired, the phone only detected Bluetooth audio and it didn't work. I re-paired it and the phone recognized audio and media and then it worked. You need a headset that supports A2DP audio streaming.
not sure
i dont know about that when i used the same headset with htc hd2 running android it worked but this g2x doesnt

I have a rooted HTC Inspire and flash revolution rom 5.1.11. However, I cannot stream the sound or music to my A2DP bluetooth headset(Jawbone Icon thinker). Actually the reason I bought this headset is to stream sound of apps to my Bluetooth headset. After I rooted my phone, the phone cannot pair with my Garmin GPS either. Can anyone tell me how to do it? Thanks
figure out. the reason is simple. I have to upgrade the firmware of the bluetooth headset. After getting the latest upgrade, everything is ok.
I've looked at a few threads about a Bluetooth issue, but I'm not having that. I can pair a bluetooth headset and listen to music all day long. I do when I work out in the mornings as well.
The problem is when I get in my vehicle (I've tested it with regular headphones as well) and hook up a 3.5mm cable, it only sends system sounds. I cannot listen to iHeartRadio, music player, or Pandora. I'm sure any similar programs would yield the same result.
Rooted and with a custom ROM (currently Bean's but it also happened when running Synergy). Has anyone found this a little finicky?
Interesting...I assume you're using stereo Bluetooth, which works fine by most accounts.
That sounds like your hardware is just totally defective. Have you tried turning Bluetooth off and using the headphones? It may be as simple as it still sending the media stream to your Bluetooth device, which is normal behavior. As we have found out the hard way, you can't use both at the same time.
This issue mainly affects those of us without car A2DP Bluetooth that allows streaming all audio so we need to use the aux jack for media audio. When we do that we cannot use Bluetooth for calls unless we disconnect the stereo cable.

Yes it was stereo bluetooth. As far as defective hardware goes, I actually think it's a firmware/software issue. This is due to the fact that when I first installed Bean's Rom it worked again for a day. I probably went to the gym in between the days and then noticed the problem. The bluetooth is off when I'm not using my headphones.
I just placed an order on Amazon for a double din Clarion deck with just about every bluetooth profile offered (exaggeration... have you ever wiki'd bluetooth profiles?).
Thanks for chiming in! Always nice to get a reply.
I use a USB bluetooth dongle with a 3.5 mm headphone jack in my car in order to stream music from my phone. I plug the dongle into the lighter outlet for power and then connect the dongle to the aux jack in the car's stereo. Everything works great when playing any media. However, it won't connect for call audio. If I were to dial a phone number, the sound from the key touches play through the radio, but as soon as the call connects the audio plays through the phone's earpiece. I am not able to get the in call audio to stream through my bluetooth. When I go to the bluetooth settings, I see an option for media audio and nothing for in call audio. If anyone can help me get this fixed, that would be great. Also, I am on CM 10 RC 1, but this did the exact same thing on stock touchwiz.
Bump
I have the same issue on stock. This thread isn't the same as what you're asking, but he does state that he is trying to find a workaround to the same issue.

Thanks for the reply. However, my issue is that once a call connects, the audio goes through the phone's earpiece. I can only stream media (youtube, Pandora, music, etc.) through Bluetooth, but calls won't connect to my Bluetooth setup at all.
I really hope someone has a solution to this.
