The volume on my phone is extremely low. I tried using volfix. Zip but it made little difference.
Using stock radio. Call signal is good and yes my volume is turned all the way up.
Looking for some ideas.

This has been discussed multiple times. The volume on CM is low naturally and right now there isn't much you can do. There's a fix floating around in the development thread somewhere. I'm sure you can find it if you search
Thanks. I did a search and only saw the vol. Zip fix which didn't help much. It's been a while since I have researched this issue, so I wasn't sure if something new came out.

I am annoyed lately that whenever I get a phone call the volume of the person speaking is so gd loud. I turn in all volume all the way down and its still too loud. Anyone have any idea why this is and if there is a way I can fix it..
Am I the only one experiencing this? My wife has same phone and hers does not do it

I have the same problem... Also had problem on the DINC. What you can do is go into the call settings and turn on hearing aids and that will actually help with the volume it lowers it a little...
Don't ask me why but this is an issue with the HTC's
Have you tried downloading audio manager from the market? Its a free app that allows you to change volume settings and for me it has been more accurate than the built in sound settings.

I have tried that and it did not seem to help as much as turning on hearing aids.
I think is not loud enough. I find myself trying to turn it up after is all the way up.

I am having the same problem on my rooted Thunderbolt.... any ideas how to fix it other than turning it all the way up on a call then turn the volume down? kinda gets annoying..
I agree, the call volume is very loud even though I have the volume turned all the way down. Doesn't bother me too much though...
If you're using BAMF by any chance...
I had the same problem on BAMF Remix. After flashing the patch to remove the call recorder, it has been working perfectly.
flash a differnet kernel. some have an audio "enhancment"
where can I find this? I would like to try it. =)

Whenever I have this problem, I turn it up all of the way and then turn it back down. Works every time.
volume
I flashed the new kernal 4.4.6 with no recorder this morning and it fixed my problem!! I am so happy!!
I also flashed the non recorder version and that cured my way too loud volume. Now I don't have to hold it 3 feet from my ear so I don't go deaf.
Can someone post a link to the patch for removing call recorder please? I find the in call volume way too loud. I've searched through a few hundred pages of different BAMF posts and haven't been able to find the patch.

it's in the first few posts for adrynalyne's froyo kernels (one of his posts).
So do I just install one of his kernels that doesn't have support for call recorder? I still can't find a separate patch to actually remove call recorder. I just want to lower the call volume.
I didn't need to flash anything under the current version of das BAMF. The call volume was way too loud, so I went to das BAMF toolkit, application settings, and removed call recorder.
Problem solved.

I have a problem. I own an Inspire 4G (obvs), and have been running CM7 for quite awhile now. Recently, i was stupid and decided to take it apart to poke around (research for a friend, I swear!). Anyways, i didn't exactly know what I was doing, and in putting it back together, somehow ruined the volume rocker. Normally this would be a non-issue because i can just adjust the volume software side. However, I just realized that you need the volume rocker to navigate clockword mod. Is there any way around this that someone else knows about? I haven't flashed a ROM in forever, and all of a sudden got the urge. I can't do it without clockwork, though. Please help!
Wrong place, this should go in General. This section is for dev.
my apologies, i thought that since I was inquiring about clockworkmod that it would go here, seein as how its all about roms and stuff.
Is the switch itself bad, the ribbon in between, the connection to the mainboard, or ?
If the former two, I'd buy a cheap broken Inspire off of ebay (shattered screen, etc), but with a good switch.

I think you answered your own question. Sorry to seem like a ass, but why would you attempt something like that when you didn't fully know what you were doing?

I had the same problem. My volume rocker broke when taking out the battery. Went to at& the store and told them that it wasn't my mistake. They asked me to go to at&t warranty center and the rep changed the phone for me.
Hope this helps.

I think I hear the moving trucks. Yep. There's a moderator coming now.
I know there are tons of complaints about the Inspire/Desire's volume rocker, but through all my searching I've only found a couple of people with my problem, and no solutions.
When I press my volume up button, it clicks, but nothing happens. It started with CM7 and I have since changed ROMs (specifically LorD ClockaN's ICS ROM that shows a volume slider when you put the volume down ) so I know that isn't the problem. Pretty sure it's hardware related. The furthest I've opened this thing up is taking the volume rocker off, so I don't know if there are any internal problems or what to look for. The little nubs on the buttons are still there and there is a satisfying click sound when I press up or down.
I've seen a lot of mention of "flex cables" but I can't find anything that really tells you what that is.
What can I do to fix this? I'd love to not be restricted to one ROM AND it's really annoying that I can't flash radios or anything without using fastboot since you have to press up to confirm. :/

You could flash 4EXT Touch Recovery. Touch recovery is nice. You just may have to flash/push it using adb.
Are you still under warranty? I've heard some people have issues before with the volume rocker, but very few. Wish I could help ya there.

it can be fixed but you have to replace the entire button assembly, should be able to find the part on google (i dont know the part number) and there are plenty of tutorials. Personally i would try the warranty route first as a lot of things can get damaged if repaired incorrectly or if you are not experienced in this.
Called HTC and they said I have 4 days left on my warranty and that it would take 2 to 3 weeks to get my phone back. Holy crap. I can't even imagine a day without my phone.
I am using CM10.
Does anyone know of an app to reduce the volume of the receiver (the person talking) on the S3? I think I read this is a known issue on CM10 ("stable" release). It's ridiculous. It's like it's on speakerphone.
There is no setting to enhance volume that I could uncheck - or anything related. At this point, I am just thinking I need an app to cut the volume until the Cyanogen people figure out a way to fix it. Using the volume rocker barely changes it.
(Other than this, I love CM10 but I might have to go back to stock just to drop this volume!)
ive got the same issues using CM10 stable on my Telus SGS3 (i747m).
Would love to be able to reduce the speakerphone volume, but there is no way at the moment. Anyone know anything about this? Even the CM team?

Since I'm new user in the forums, I cant post this directly to the right place (Development section), so I'll have to post it here.
I'm not sure if this is a bug in the ROM Odyssey-ville-v-2.0.RC-1-UNOFFICIAL-20130822-0842.
The problem I have is this, I occasionally tend to loose all the sounds from phone. The volume bars shows that there should be volumes turned up.
It's easy to restore them, get volume all the way down, then back up.
But what I do not know is when the phone decides to go silent, this way I might miss a call or two before I notice that it's silent once again. So if someone can shed some light on what's going on.
FYI:
I didn't have this problem on PAC-ROM (ville_PAC_JB_4.2.2-v23.0.0_20130723-221828).

Might be that you haven't correctly wiped the partitions.
Use that SUPERWIPE script from PACman ROM thread and flash it through recovery, then flash Odyssey back.
Odyssey is a very good ROM and shouldn't have this issue.

Finally had time to fiddle with the installation.
Made few cleans with the superscript and installed OdysseyHybrid-v2.70-RC and everything seems to be back in order.
I had used that superscript on the previous installation also, so it seems a bit odd that the phone acted like it did. Anyway thanks for your insight on this matter!
