Im new to the Droid 2 Global, but not new to the Android platform (I came from the Samsung Vibrant and helped out with TeamWhiskey's ROMs) This is the first I have seen an Android Phone charge in an hour and 15 mins! And hold an Idle charge for 48 hours! Is this normal?
Mine charges in 2 hours or so, and I find it blazing fast compared to my old Nokia 9300 and Motorola V547.
And 48 hours idle seems pretty much normal, considering you're on Verizon. I get up to 80 hours idle on GSM 2G and 40 to 60 on HSPA without placing/receiving calls or using data explicitly (besides the weather widget) and not touching the phone at all.

Hello all, I'm planning to get myself one, when it will appear in my country... Question is, how much battery consumes in standby? I mean, number of hours before it is under 5 percent and needs recharge, from 100%. For example an Ipad has 30 days, I've read numerous reviews that show EEE Transformer in a bad light, with sleep mode eating 20-30 percent per night, or 30 hours standby(Engadget) at most. Rest of reviewers don't point to standby time, only to battery life, I want to know if it dies after 30 hours of sleep mode. WiFi on and without, it's good to know. For example My Galaxy S with WiFi on and a weather app refreshing every hour, with Gmail, has 2 days before it drops below 30%, I don't talk that much on phone and never use Internet browsing on it.

I can't compare to Ipad, but overnight the Asus drains about 5 to 10 percent. That is wifi set to switch off when screen is off. Second about the Endgadget review, my asus lasts on one charge 2 days (48h) normal use, that is normal usage: playing, web browsing, reading, overnight screen off, etc. So you see 30h of sleep mode is very very very wrong because not optimized/too many apps/wifi on.
So I'm no longer reading reviews of the asus, but reading/playing on the Asus
Hope this helps,
rio
but still it looks not that much compared to apple ipad2, which is kinda sad. I was kinda hoping that this device outperform ipad2 in battery too...
some reviews claims it gets close (1hr difference) and some say not even trying (6hr difference) against the iPad, but I think some of them were using live wallpapers which drain battery pretty fast. It has never stated to be better than the iPad though unless it was with dock.
I dont know if it lasts so much as ipad. However, in my exp. with ipad1 when it had ios 3.2. battery was lasting ages, almost no loss overnight as you point out.
After updating it to 4.2 battery was really drained hard. It was difficult to have it running more than 2/3 days on a row. And the difference came on non use periods. On continous use, it was lasting about the same.
This is, are you sure ipad is doing 30 days?
The only thing that lasts almost a month in standby time in the android world is the galaxy tab.
The battery is definitely not as standby friendly as the ipad. My mom has the first gen ipad and it uses basically no power in standby. On my transformer, I get a drop overnight (8 hours or so) of about 2-3% with wifi off. I use setcpu with a screen off profile to restrict the cpu to the minimum frequency.
It's disappointing because my droid incredible, with a 1500mah battery (1/4 of the transformer?) doesn't drop at all overnight in airplane mode.
I just turn mine off at night b/c I have no need to sync stuff overnight. For that matter I also turned autosync off by default for most apps even when it is on. Basically uses 0 battery that way (maybe 1%). I know that doesn't work for everyone though.
I pulled my TF & dock off the AC on Tuesday at about 7:45AM, both fully charged. As of an hour ago, I had about 72% juice left in the TF (dock is drained). It's been docked the entire time. I've only used it lightly the last 3 days. I did download & install 3.1 during this time as well.
Curious on my battery usage - I just fully charged the phone last night (w/it off) and unplugged it 1 hour and 46 minutes ago - I'm already down to 82%, I was on FB for not even 2 minutes, and that's it, no calls, no texts, no nothing.
Battery Stats indicate Cell Standby has used 50% of the battery, Phone Idle has 48% and the display is only 3%.
Running w/4G on in a full 4G area.
Literally just sitting there the phone is having the life sucked out of it - I think it's the 4G radio. On my last ROM when I put the phone into just 3G the battery was much, much better. What the heck is VZW doing so that 4G sucks the life out of the phones?
I'm running CM7 w/the 2.5. Wonder if the 2.0 radio would be better.
Any thoughts?

It's not the 4G radio, I use "LTE only" and can constantly get 40-45 hours out of my battery. Have you tried that setting or are you using CDMA/LTE mode?

maybe switch to 3g only when not using the phone???
Alright, so the biggest complain to this phone is the battery life as we all know. Trying everything to stabilize the battery life, i have used many apps but no luck. One thing I have noted after trying to fix the battery with a calibrator (root required), I read my phone using 4.1V. This is strange because for a simple Watt calculation, you do w= amps x voltage. If the battery can only manage 1.5 x 3.7 or 5.55 Watts and my phone specifically is taking about 1.5 x 4.1 or 6.15 Watts, this means faster battery drain.
What I want to know if there is some sort of voltage control app or modification to the power management for the phone to remain within the V3.7 specified by the battery.
I will also say that randomly my phone decided to run no more than V3.7 on Feb 14 and this is what happened. I unplugged at 7:22 a.m and by the time 9:30 a.m Came, I was at 70%, but then my phone lasted until 6:15 p.m or 18:15 after that. And noted that i did regular texts (sent and received about 200) had a 15 minute phone call and about 1 hour and 15 minutes of bluetooth music playback (I use Bluetooth headsets **Jaybird SB2**) and some internet usage. Not 12 hours but better than the 4 hours most of us get.
What are your thoughts as well?
really there is a problem with battery life? Mine lasts from 9 pm till 9 pm and i am left 50% to 30% thiaiz rom but official too. Also i dont have any ghost calls. Maybe these too are connected?
So, this is strange, but I'm finally starting to get a view on things:
I have 2 batteries for my Desire S. Both should be in good to perfect state. I tested them before I unlocked and started using custom roms; I could get 2 days out of both.
Ever since I unlocked and started trying out new roms, battery life has been acting very, very strange.
When charging regularly, with the phone on, battery life looks good at first (it stays at 100% for hours), and then all of a sudden starts dropping sharply. I can get only 16-18 hours with very little use when this happens
If I charge my phone while it is turned off (well, in recovery, since there's no way to charge it while truly off), my battery seems to get its proper life: it easily lasts 2 days, i managed 65 hours before.
This goes in cycles and diminishes over several cycles: after the 65 hour depletion, the next charge when on, is slightly worse, after 2 or 3 it gets to a really bad state. Charging it while off "resets" this and I get the full 65 hours again.
What the hell is going on here ? I've used a variety of Cm10 roms (Flinny, Pac-man, blindndumb's... last one is my current). Don't tell me I'm actually recalibrating my battery every 4 days...
i have been using my s22 ultra SD for a month, i get actually a decent battery life.
but the thing is that battery drops quickly from 100 to 99 within 4 minutes and sometimes even 3 minutes, even if it is on standby. Also, it takes another only 4 minutes to gets dropped to 98.
after that, battery drains normally. i mean not that fast
is it only me?
In theory, when your battery is at 100% and you unplug it, it should, technically, drop to 99% immediately. It's only really full while it is being topped up with a trickle charge. As soon as it's unplugged, it's on its own steam and is no longer full. I'm not sure how long you, or Samsung, would expect it to remain on 100%. I imagine that depends on many variables.

It's common
Perfectly normal, also the fast drop from 6%

its just a software tricks to show batt levels
i had Oneplus 9 Pro before with:
100>90 stays 25 minutes
90>80 stays 20
then 50>40 just 13 minutes
but S22u shows a real discharging, dont blame them for a truth
So you get good battery life but you're complaining about how fast it discharges from 100 to 99?
That's some iPhone privilege right there, son.
dont complain about battery life XD
i have a galaxy a3 2016 its draining down to 15% in 4hrs
