App Idea: Chrome to Phone to 'Comb - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

I have an idea that would combine Chrome to Phone, Phone 2 Chrome, and also allow for a tablet to be used independently.
When installed, you give your device a name (Phone, Tablet, EVO etc)
It would operate just like the other two apps mentioned:
On Google Chrome:
Press an extension button and a drop down menu would allow you to select the device to send the page to.
On an Android device:
Press share while on the browser and choose the device or browser which you would like to open the page on.
The page would automatically load on that selected device or browser.
Nice and simple, and only one app is needed!
Can somebody please make this for me (or help)? It would be greatly appreciated
Sam

[GUIDE] [HOW-TO] Google Play Movies & TV - Outside of the US.

I kindly advice you to read everything before you start, so that you don't get stuck in the middle of the process. I made it without screenshots, so maybe it's rather something for advanced users - but basically you'll just fake the carrier for the market and use a proxy.
1. This will only work if your device is rooted.
2. Don't complain. I assume that if you managed to root your device you will also manage to set up a proxy.
3. Grant the superuser permissions when asked by "Market Enabler" and "Proxy Droid", else it won't work. Those are apps with hundreds of thousands of downloads --> they are safe.
4. It works for me. I attach also a screenshot that I just took - I'm in Sweden.
5. If it doesn't work, it means that the proxy you selected is not working, simply try with another one.
Now, let's start.
1. Get the Movies&TV app at the end of this post or from the market if you have access to it and install it.
2. Get a program called "market enabler", it will allow you to fake the location of the google play market and allow you to get the movies+series.
3. Get "ProxyDroid", you can get it for free on the market, link.
4. Search for us proxies, if you don't know how to do that click on this link.
I found good ones here, link, simply click on a number in the "raw proxy list" column and write down a proxy, you will need both the host and the port numbers. Host numbers usually look like this "72.64.146.136" and port numbers usually are shorter, usually like this "3128", "80" or "3128".
If you find a proxy with the following "184.105.235.82:8080", then everthing before the : is the host number, everything after the : is the port number. You will need this information for step 6.
5. Start "market enabler" --> setting lists --> long press on a [us] list and select "fake this provider now"
6. Start "ProxyDroid" --> scroll down to "Host" and enter the host numbers from step 4 and then do the same for "Port". Scroll to the top and select "Proxy Switch" --> a little cloud symbol will show up in the menu bar. The app also offers advanced options, like excluding apps from this proxy, or creating proxy profiles but that's entirely up to you.
7. Start "Google Play Movies & TV", link it to an account. It will tell you that you don't have any movies or shows. Press on the market icon in the top right corner and you'll get to the market. --> Bingo.
8. Don't forget to deactivate the proxy and market enabler once you are done watching.
9. You can also do this without market enabler, the only difference is that you will be redirected to your browser when you want to buy movies&series instead of doing it within the market.
The rest is up to you. It's actually easier as it sounds.
If you really, really, really, really need screenshots I might add some tomorrow.
what market enabler could i use best??
*edit*
Found market unlocker with various google play stores from over the world this app is also capable to look for proxies
Thank a lot I will try sir.:victory:

Guide to using the latest sling tv app

Make sure you are rooted, sideload the market helper apk, and set your device to the following: under: device put tablet, and set it to the asus transformer pad, under select operator, choose united states, and select at&t, then hit activate. Give it root access and after it finishes, go on your phone and go to the playstore website. Make sure it is the website, and make sure you are logged in with the same account signed in on your nexus player. It will tell you that the application is compatable with your devices, click on the drop down menu and you will see you have a device listed as "asus transformer pad." select that and hit the button to install it and in a few minutes it will pop up as installed on your nexus player. It works perfect, been using it for a while. Enjoy! The app works great with the remote, you can also install any other applications to the nexus player this way.
Please note: you will need to sideload a web browser to complete market helper set up, this can all be done from the remote, you do not need a keyboard or mouse. I used firefox that i sideloaded, but any browser will work fine.
Here is a link to market helper if you can't find it:

Can't find the default apps list in Android 5.1.1

Normally I almost never pick a default app because I have several browsers and when I click a link somewhere I like to choose what browser I want to load it up with each time. But now I upgraded to 5.1.1 and after I selected the browser the first time now it auto has become the default browser and I have not found any way of fixing it. I think once I was able to do it from the applications menu, then something changed with an update and I had to do it from the recent tasks window, or the other way around. But now I cannot find any list of default apps or setting to prevent apps from automatically becoming default upon first being selected to perform some option.
Am I missing something here? Google isn't likely to just remove a crucial aspect of the OS, so it's probably me. If you know I'd appreciate it.
Thanks.

You can use it to change default apps.
Make sure that when you select the browser you want to use (I strongly recommend Google Chrome) that instead of pressing the big icon, you press the only once button below it.
This is what I always normally do, as I never actually pick a default. But since the 5.1.1 update I do not even see the option. As soon as I press the app I want to open the thing up with it vanishes and always uses that app from now on. I cannot find the built in default apps list. Apps are all fine and good but where is the built in and why can't I press to use an app once?

I can no longer choose between using Chrome or apps when clicking hyperlink

If I'm using Chrome and looking something up I might click on a Reddit or news link, it asks you if you want to open it via Chrome or if I have the app installed the that app.
Sometimes it's faster just to view the web page instead so I don't usually choose use app all the time.
Something changed where no longer can select use Chrome just this instance, the pop up comes back and you can only choose the app.
I'm not sure when this changed, if it was the Android 11 upgrade or one of the patches since.
For now I just turned off opening links in apps.
Any ideas if it's a bug or one of the many things Samsung changed in 11?
No problem here, go to Chrome and clear defaults. You might have accidentally tapped always.

How can I un-app-ify a website on Chrome for Android?

Hi folks...
So some websites do things to Chrome on Android that I don't like.
In particular:
1. Some sites, when launched from a link on the Home Screen, launch into a mode without any browser controls
2. Some sites don't let me add a link to the Home Screen, but only let me run it "as an app"
Is there any way around these sorts of things?
That is, I want to add a link to the Home Screen that will ALWAYS launch in full browser mode.
Or I want to add a link to the Home Screen for sites that seem to force Chrome to favor running "as an app".
Some news sites I frequent do the 1st thing.
outlook.com (which I use for work) does the 2nd thing.
I'd like them to behave like regular websites, and launch in full browser mode in Chrome from a Home Screen icon/link. Is there any way to force this, does anyone know?
If I'm using the wrong terminology, please let me know. I'm not sure if these sites are running a Chrome App, or an Instant App, or somehow otherwise force Chrome to behave differently.
Thanks much!
- Tim
