[Q] HDMI output not working on any ROMs except stock 2.2 and 2.3 - T-Mobile LG G2x

HDMI output was working on both the stock 2.2.2 rom and on the 2.3 leak, but any other 2.3 rom I use outside the ones based off the 2.3 leak will not do HDMI output. I have had nothing but trouble with this phone (Horrible screen bleed, Random reboots, boot loops, lock ups), and I only got this phone to use HDMI with emulators and the wiimote controller (which doesn't work on stock roms of course), and I was just wondering if anyone else is having this issue or if there is a work around?
Currently on most recent EB 2.3 rom with most recent sv ext4 faux kernel.

I'm on eb 2.3.4 and hdmi works fine for me.

I've tried it on a monitor using a DVI to HDMI converter and on a tv using HDMI and neither works.

Mine worked great on ultimate rom. Play angry birds on 50 inch LCD at work.

[Q] Cm7 and MHL

Has anyone had any success getting MHL hdmi adapter to work with cm7?
Not yet. I haven't flashed the ROM myself because of this reason. but I'm sure its gonna be fixed before the full release. I can't wait to hook up the ps3 remote for the emulators while using the mhl output. Hello n64oid!

Idk
I really like the hid support with the rom, but it's just not the same when you can't output hdmi. Hopefully someone else can confirm if it is working, because I can't seem to get it to work.
out of topic but related, does anyone feel its possible to get the USB host functionality working on the Sensation with CM7 or with any firmware?
I got my MHL/HDMI adapter cable in today. It's the real deal, the correct one for the Sensation but it won't output anything while i'm using CM7 Alpha 8. I like CM7 because they use the correct bluetooth drivers for the sixaxis controller app and emulators are great now. But no dice on outputting them or movies to the tv.

Best rom that has hdmi working

I use hdmi almost daily to stream netflix and other stuff so I need this in a rom. I really liked miui but hdmi doesn't work. So which rom would be best

Any stock ROM. Weapon G2x is based on stock and it's really good, I'd recommend that.

I don't think Weapon would work for him since its 2.3.3, if he's trying to use netflix.
...unless netflix is working now for Weapon which if that's true when did that happen?
Edit 9/22/11: netflix has received an update and it works w/ weapon now!

You are sol. The roms that work with Netflix don't work with HDMI and the roms that have HDMI working Netflix don't work.

You can try:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1150037
Its a fantastic rom and I know netflix works on it, and a friend of mine says he is using the same rom and that HDMI is also working on it.
Sorry cant say for sure (cant find my HDMI cable to try for you)
hope this helps!
CM7 nightly 143 works for me for Netflix and HDMI to my 1080p tv. At a friends house I couldn't get it to work (the HDMI) and after a lot of digging realized that CM7 HDMI only works on 1080, he had a 720 tv. CM hasn't built the HDMI setting that were in the stock rom, which exist in a lot of other roms though, like miui and xboarder, which netflix might work with if your tv is 720. Good luck.
CM7 works with HDMI
I just rooted and installed CM7 yesterday. I installed Netflix and am using it at this very moment with the HDMI connection.
G2x with CM7 2.3.5
noob...sorry about the lawn thing
I am running CM7 nightly build 146. My HDMI works flawlessly with netflix, but when I try to stream an avi/divx file it drops out. It comes back for a minute or so and drops again. I am thinking of changing to trigger, but other than the HDMi the phone is kick ass. Decisions, decisions...
Please don't yell at me. I'm sensitive

CyanogenMod 7 HDMI settings

Does anyone know if HDMI works on CM7? I have 2 other stock G2x and they all work but for some reason they don't work on 1080p, you have to put it on 720p even if its a 1080p TV.
HDMI works on CM7, but you can't adjust the settings. It looks good on my 1080p Sony Bravia though

It works well in cm7 but when watching videos it cuts. It's good for photos and emulators.

I'm having that problem w/the latest Eagle's Blood.
same problem
Worked fine stock rom. Cuts out cm7. Pretty much unusable trigger 0822. But my trigger mod with faux kernel O/C 1100 scored an AnTuTu benchmark of 5729. Far enough above stock that I can live without hdmi!

Rogers Stock GB able to import MHL kernel from att?

currently (as im sure a lot of you guys know) rogers roms does not have any MHL support so all the att guys who are using roms based off of canadian rogers are not able to output to HDMI.
Is it not possible just to lift that MHL part inside the froyo kernel and integrate it into gb's kernel? so everyone can have HDMI support?
Im thinking of buying an adapter (us poor rogers guys dont even get a free adapter.. or a SD card for that matter! our phones comes with nothing!!!) and then playing N64/PSX/SNES/NES on my HDTV w/ bluetooth controller
Do want. And where do I get a Bluetooth controller

If your running stock then you can order a controller from phonejoy. It's a ps3 controller that has been modified to work with stock bluetooth. It already has support of all major emulators. It's like 50 dollars usd after shipping and taxes. Mines ordered, but still haven't come in yet.
Other alternatives requires you to run cm7 or miui. Then you can use your regular Nintendo wii remote (wiimote from market) or ps3 controller (sixaxis from market)
I'm using cm7 with these controllers now and I'm having a blast. N64 games, playing goldeneye is a lot of fun. I only need that hdmi out and then I can play it on my 62 inch led tv.

[Q] 4.4 - Any signs on working HDMI at sight?

I remember last time having properly working HDMI-output somewhere around ICS-times. I feel poor without working HDMI
Is it possible that someday we get it to work correctly?

Framerate is too low and the output resolution is under 720p so there is no way I can scale it fullscreen on my 16:10 tv.
Framerate drops to insanely low also on device screen immediately after you connect the HDMI.
It worked on ICS last time I remember, it broke when JB came.

Mine has not worked at all since ICS. It does not display anything to external monitors over the micro HDMI port. I have tried 3 different brands of TV and 2 separate HDMI cables so its not that. The output did work on ICS stock but I upgraded to jellybean stock and it stopped working. I am currently running CM11-20140308-SNAPSHOT-M4-tf300t and it still does not work.
Must be your cable. .... omnirom and cm11 both work without an issue for me.
Pic is my tf300t running omnirom 4.4, connected to my Sony NSX-24gt google tv. Also works on my 50" hisense led tv.
Audio and video are fully functional.

Cant be, this is still the same cable I used on ICS when I got it and it was working correctly. Im running on latest CM Nightly atm..
Could it possibly be a hardware incompatibility with newer roms...?

I have seen others say some TV's are picky. Im not sure as I ran the latest nightly of CM and my hdmi out was working properly. Have you tried the latest Omni homemade build? If you flash back to a 4.1 rom, you get working hdmi on the same tv? I dont think it makes a difference but you could try using the same recovery and BL im using as well. I wonder if the BL could cause a driver issue?

Hey, i must have, missed something.
Are you saying that you got a rom working with full HD on the Asus tf300?
Or is het just outputting to HDMI the same pixels as the tablet has? Which is less than full HD.

The TF300T never had full working HD via HDMI, only ever 720p.
The changes that occurred in the newest kernel release (10.6.1.27.5) only allowed 1080p output for full HD videos.
Having said that, it would appear that the CM11 kernel (meaning the custom ones as well) are still based on the 10.6.1.15.3 kernel
EDIT: DERP!! No the CM11 source does contain the changes for 10.6.1.27.5 I'm just blind

The OP isnt getting anything working. My tablet is outputting just fine ( as screen shot shows ) using omnirom. Ive never had any issues with my hdmi out. Im thinking some just have very very picky television sets. Ive got a high end sony and a low end hisense. ....both work fine. Hopefully the OP figures it out.

Im sure the problem lies somewhere in my tablet.
I have tried with same cable that worked on ICS with three different Samsungs and on my own Benq TV where it used to work with ICS.
Same problems that I described occurs with all TV's I have tried yet.
No HD AFAIK
