Hello,
I'm building a chat application with the Android SDK, I have everything working perfectly, except one thing... in the chat activities (that display conversations), I have a list that's gonna display a list of other started conversation activities.
How can I get a list of other subactivities (chat activities) of the main activity (contact list activity)?
I may also need to know how to bring a running activty to the front (even if multiple instances of the chat activity are running, find one that has a specific propery, such as the endpoint chatter's name, and bring it to front).

I am currently beta testing tirllian but I might give this a go too. Three questions first though:
1) does it support myspace chat
2) could you give me more info on the message history feature
3) how are users displayed (e.g. does it display their actual account username or does since some networks support changing the display name does it show what ever the end user has chosen as a display name, does it show their contact pic/avatar)
Glad to present my latest app: Corporate Contacts
I was surprised to find out that Android actually internally supports much more options, that the Contact app works with. Groups are one example - that is usually the
"Category" when syncing with MS Outlook. So, I made an app that exploits the underlying system a bit more. Check out the app, and the video below, for an introduction. Updates are to come...
NOTIFICATION: I am giving away some registration keys for the app, which unlock the full functionality, and remove the ads. Write me a message if you're interested!
Latest version: 1.5.3

The free version is ad-supported and has several limitations. For the full version, without ads and limitation check: https://market.android.com/details?id=eir.corporate

Just to let you know, if anyone was following, that the bug on ICS is fixed.
This place comes handy to present some new features. Introducing the patriotic themes for both Corporate Contacts and Fast Dialer.
BLauncher is a simple android launcher, which supports query items from different sources such as application, contacts, settngs etc. You can also execute an action on item at given position.
sytax: regex[/[position]action]
For example: 'hello' means search hello from default sources, '1234' means search 1234 from contacts and call log, 'message/o' means open the first match of applications contains 'message' text, '/3c' means call the third phone number in the call log.
You can set many sources in many pagers, For instance, 'a,l' will shows two pagers with applications in one pager and call logs in the other, 'mc,s,e' will shows three pagers that all SMS and contacts in the first one, all system settings in the second one and all calendar events in the third one.
BLauncher is an open source project, you can find source in github and google code.

CalCall:-
This is my first app. This is new concept can be helpful to many. You can post your review here about the app and improvements I can do to it.
This is a BETA Product and may have some bugs. We are improving on the concept.
This app basically uses the GOOGLE CALENDAR as the Source of Information to display the Name of the caller on call screen during call. So please install Google Calendar from the Store.
Concept :-
In Business we receive lots of calls but we can't store all those numbers in our contact, as most of the times we only receive the calls of clients/others which are temporary. Storing the number in our contact may clutter the contact book making it difficult to maintain.
Also if we have multiple devices storing the contact on one device won't display the Caller ID on the other device. Synchronizing contact can be sometimes difficult. This will create the same problem of cluttered Address Book.
We normally store our appointments in the Calendar along with the number of client. Why not search the same during call. This is our solution to the problem.
This basically uses
1) Calendar as your secondary contact book.
2) Calendars can be synchronized, hence essentially making the synchronized secondary contact book.
3) This app can display additional information stored in the calendar along the contact. (For alpha stage only the location is being displayed. later will come other options)
Just store the information of the client in the Title of Calendar along with his number in the Description. And same will be displayed during the call on screen.

Hi all,
I'd like to invite you to try my app:
Another chat? Yes. No. Wait! Did you ever hang with friends in downtown and wanted to split? But hesitated - how will you find them again? Sure, you can agree to meet in an hour in certain spot. But what if you are late? Or what if they see some fun place and want you to come there? This app can help! You see yours and your friends’ locations on the map in real time. And you can text them – the map and chat share the same screen.
Do you like hiking in parks and want to share your location with relatives at home? Are you an avid fisherman and want your buddy to get to this real good spot you just found? Do you have guests coming to your cottage but don’t want to call them to check how far they are? With Location Chat you save time and have piece of mind that you are connected!
Location is updated with the frequency controlled by the app settings (10 seconds to 5 minutes). You have full control of whether you're sending your location updates. Disable it at any time or let the timer to turn it off. Your location is shared within the chat. Contacts in other chats will not see it, unless you choose to enable it there.
Share a place of interest on the map: simply add a marker with the icon of what it is, e.g. "Picnic Site" or "Cabin", and your friends will see it too. And of course all normal functions of a messaging app are included: group and individual chats with text and picture sharing, forwarding and replies.
You can use Location Chat on smart phone or tablet with a data plan. Just register an account and you are ready to go. No personal information (phone number, email, etc.) required.
Features include:
- Simple, familiar interface with chat and user lists.
- Chat screen with integrated map. Upon turning on location sharing, other chat members will see your location on the map.
- Private (one-on-one) and group chat.
- Marks that can be published on chat map and shared with chat members.
- Take and post photos, share with other chats or messaging apps.
- Chat messages can be encrypted with password.
- Read and dismiss messages inside Android notification.
- XMPP standard is used as protocol
If you have a feature request or a suggestion – feel free to share with us! The app is in active development and we would welcome any ideas!
