Hi,
I bought this HTC Desire HD months ago together with the otterbox case. I loop my handphone strap to the bottom of the case unfortunately, it only last for 2 months and the case snapped . Do you guys have any suggestions on a case where I can actually attach a handphone strap on? I tried searching on google. No result =(.
That's an interesting question.
As a hobbyist I reviewed a few cases I tried, although I've not tried the Otterbox.
This one has holes for a strap but I don't like the case itself:
ray-out Silky Touch Silicon Jacket:
This one has holes also but I wouldn't trust the case to stay on if you hold only the strap:
ray-out Rubber Coating Shell Jacket:
This leather one has a tag you can put a strap through:
SoftBank Leather Case:
The one I use comes with a strap but no way to attach it to the DHD:
Brighton Net TPU Case:
I'm assuming the holes shown in some of the cases are for a strap because they are very small.

Having used a TPU case on my E71 for the last two years, I've already ordered one for my new Desire Z. Now I'd like to find a leather case with a belt clip (preferably horizontal) that will hold the whole package. Does anybody have any recommendations?
Also, I saw mentioned in a few threads that a magnetic closure on the case can cause problems (potentially long-term) with the compass? Is there any truth to that? If so, I guess I want a case with no magnetic closure!
I'm looking for case for my Epic and also a holster that will hold the phone with the case attached. I tried to do this with my HTC Arrive but the case made the phone so bulky that I could barely squeeze it into my belt holster and then the magnetic cover would hardly close.
Is there any case + holster combo that I can purchase or at least a holster with enough room to hold the Epic with a case attached?
I really liike the Seidio Active X case but I'm afraid it will make the phone too thick for most if not all holsters other than the Seidio snap on holster.
I was also looking at these two Amazon items but don't know if they really would go well together:
I can't post links but these two are from Amazon.
Premium-Crystal-Rubberized-Snap-Samsung
Horizontal-Leather-Samsung-Magnetic-Closing
Any suggestions?
Seidio has a combo that comes with a holster and case.
platinum case and clip
Best Buy has a case made by platinum. great case and holster as well. case does good job of protecting the phone.
Thank you for the responses. I saw both and for the holster, is there one that is not a phone clip-on holster, rather more like the leather holsters where the phone resides inside and there is a magnetic lock to hold the opening closed?
I might just go for the Seidio Active X case/holster combo if I can't find another option.
Try this maybe?

Thanks. Looks like I was a little late to the party. Went to purchase the case this morning and it was officially sold out.
i use the Seidio case/holster combo. i have the.. i think its called "active" one now (belt clip with a plastic and rubberized case on the phone. holds phone face in against your body). I previously used the "surface case" and holster combo. Both GREAT items (i still have the surface case, but due to something that was totally my fault the holster broke. not a reflection of the product quality. i love it).
my phone has the Seidio screen protector and Seidio "Active" case/holster. its been dropped SO many times. banged around daily. screen and softkeys are still scratch free. screen protector barely scratched (thats how durable it is. even in a pocket with keys or coins its still perfectly clear). phone still working great. LOVE the case. its a little expensive but well worth the investment to protect your superphone.

I think I'll purchase the Active X case and holster combo. Hopefully the phone will stay in the holster while at the gym. I saw a great review of the product in this forum and even though the price is a lot higher than I would like to pay, it seems like it is worth it.
I got my htc sensation and I just want the perfect case for protection. I've read the other threads but there weren't for this two. It cause mostly everybody likes the case mate but is the ballistic more protective since the corners bigger and the back better. And don't say the otterbox cause I don't like that one.
I've got the CaseMate Tough and it's perfect.....
Tough outer plastic cover, with a secondary rubber cover that sits nicely over the phone.
Only criticism is that it is awkward to take on and off and I had to trim around the headphone hole to get my headphones to fit...but that is minor.....
Just wish I had it on my phone before I dropped it.........
So my plan was to get the slimmest case I could for Verizon note 4. On my note 3 I had the incipio feather case (loved it-although little protection).
Got my note 4 and no readily available cases. Went naked for a week. Ordered the spigen thin fit (incipio feather not available?).
Got it (no mic hole issues as it is open on bottom). It is a bit slippery but is exactly like feather case. Very very annoying how ever-increasing does squeak when put pressure on sides - clearly mold only 95% accurate...
Now this is the slimmest case out there.... And I am so missing carrying this phone naked. The Samsung back feels so grippy and nice. Amazing how even this thin case adds noticeable bulk.
Starting to get contaminated with "this thin fit case doesn't protect much anyway.....
This phone naked is the bomb. Anyone routinely not case phone and have success.? I saw someone yesterday with note 3 looked like a banged up car on sides. Slapped the spigen back on. Hahaha
As an aside, waiting for the official Samsung protective cover - may be a good solution. But, sold out on Samsung site..... Anyone have this one? No video reviews that I can find.
For the squeaking, just put strips of masking or electrical tape on both sides of the inside of the case. Silly that you have to do anything, but this is a solution.
Recently, I bought this case from Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0762F2T19/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It's fine, but a bit slippery. My old Motorola RAZR M had a case that was very soft silicone with a clip on hard plastic back that protected the phone VERY well over the last 5 years of use. It also didn't slip out of my shirt pocket.
It had a nice fat lip on the front so you could place the phone face down without harming the glass.
See attached photos.
Does this type of case even exist for the PH-1? Even the Tudia case I have in a softer more "grippy" silicone would be better.

Incipio Dual Pro -> https://www.incipio.com/cases/smartphone-cases/essential-cases-covers/dualpro-essential-case.html
Probably closest to what you are looking for.
I saw that one already. The hard back covers the sides and it's the same material as the Tuda one, so still slippery.

The dual pro outer shell has soft touch finish which isn't slippery.

Thnaks for the tip, but still not what I'm looking for. The one for my Razr M (look at the pictures) was a very soft silicone rubber case with a hard plastic "claw" that clamped around the back and a bit of the sides. Worked great.

Rick, I know exactly what type of case you're looking for, as I've been searching all over for one as well. You're not alone. Your photos and description of your Moto case look similar to the Ballistic brand case I had on my Samsung Galaxy S2 that protected it so well, that when I took it off last month after 6 years of daily use, the S2 still appeared brand new. Upgrading from the Galaxy S2 to an Essential PH-1 was quite a jump, and I was hoping to have that same level of protection, but alas I cannot find it either.
Hopefully Ballistic or Tudia will step up eventually and offer bulkier, thicker-built rubber and hard-wrapped cases for the PH-1 for use in more rugged environments. I have the Tudia TAMM case, but it feels too thin and flimsy for any kind of real protection from the types of environments that I work and play in. For now, it is better than nothing.
ApptMtneer,
You are SO correct! My RAZR M still looks new after almost 6 years of daily, in the shirt pocket) use. I really hope that one of these comes out. They tend to be relatively inexpensive as well. I bought two for my RAZR M (just in case!) and still have a brand new on in the packaging.
If you see one, let me know. i will do the same.
