[Q]HTC Likes? - HTC Sensation

It's in the the Manage Application menu but not in the app drawer? Also can see it when I create a launcher pro activity but it doesn't launch.. Any one on Tmousa that's got it to work?

Yes have you set up an htc sense account?
also, have you updated to 2.3.4 through htc software updates? if your still running 2.3.3 your particular problem might arise being that htc likes in available only in 2.3.4 for the sensation.
let me know the status after checking these couple things and let me know.
i have htc likes but your not missing anything. to be honest i almost wish i can remove it. it is constantly running and eating up cpu usage which causes battery drain.
im still working on getting rid of this juicer
Hit the thanks button if this helps and keep me updated on your status lets try to get this working for you.

fatality hero rom slow solution :) sms solved

howdy peeps iv been having a play round with the rom to try and decifer whats causing it to be so slow and also iv noticed that messages were also not being recieved.
I HAVE THE SOLUTION
right the slowness is caused by the flip clock with the weather update feature, i noticed that when you go back to the home screen it straight away goes to sync the latest weather information, theres two ways of boosting the speed one is either to simply change the clock to one that isnt weather or click onto the weather bit and disable auto weather update
you will notice that there is now no lag swapping from screen to screen, this deffo cheered me up as the slowness did start to peeve me off
and now for that text swiping demon lol, if you have noticed that your messages arent coming thru i found the fix, its the sms widget, there sems to be a bug which is eating them all up lol, basically get rid of it and you will notice you have friends again.
just thot id share my findings with you, because i am now more than happy with my new rom its speedy and have texts again lol
i wonder if i take the message widget from an much older hero rom like the beta rom would it still have that bug
thats what im looking round for, im checking the dream forums because there roms are flowing out and they seem to have no message probs , ill get back to yas
EDIT: ive just replaced the message widget with the one from jachero latest rom, so far so good il let ya know if i get any problems
heres the alternate message widget
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=1PFF4ALW
success
i have had no problems with texts whatsoever since the change over i deffo recommend this to everyone who is experiencing these problems, i have recieved texts and pic messages from various devices and no problems when before i would get the odd one
This sounds like a great find, only one thing.
How do I get this to replace the current messaging widget on my HERO rom?
I want to try the Hero ROM... but the Fatality ROM which is the one that works BEST! on my Magic, seems to have been taken away :'(
There's another link to the download on the second to last page I think, have a look because that's where I got it from.
just place the message widget on the sd card and open it through a file explorer on your phone, its what i did just installs like any other aslong as you have allow android applications from other sources selected
Did you tried with this optimized rosie?

It should be for Jachero's rom but it may work on Fatality's rom too.

I think the OP is referring to the downloadable HTC widgets such as battery widget, etc. These will not install from the Market nor do they show up when clicking to download from the widget list to add to home. I too, would like to know a work around to install (not a different widget on the Market) because I really miss the HTC battery widget.

Oh, shoot my bad.
For some reason, the Download new HTC widgets button worked on my v2.0 rom. It showed the downloadable ones and worked on the HS

I think the widget isn't installing because it isn't an official ROM, but that is just a guess.
Could be part of the problem. However, it did install on the Eris based 2.1 roms which had very different frameworks than the Sprint based 2.1 roms. I believe that is the real problem. The Eris roms were more like the Sprint 1.5 roms framework wise.
Just wondering if anyone's found a fix for this? I miss my battery widget lol
still waiting for this myself. hopefully it will work with the release keys

Which ROM is best for me?

Hi guys,
I'm really getting overwhelmed by all the different ROM's out there for my HTC Desire and what each offers and I was hoping if I post what it is I'm after, someone may be able to point me in right direction...
I ditched HTC Sense as I was running low on space and like the idea of having Gingerbread, I much prefer the look of it over HTC Sense so after relentlessly reading up about rooting, I did so and went for Adam G's Oxygen ROM. Great Rom, don't get me wrong, and it ticks all the boxes (i.e.: Gingerbread, more storage space, ability to move apps to SD card). However, I'd like something more stable.
I'm encountering a number of issues with the ROM;
Randomly rebooting and getting stuck in a boot loop
Screen spontaneously failing to respond
Both of these issues only seem curable by pulling the battery and rebooting.
I have no problem with HTC Sense, I'd just like it without all the stock apps that come with it (e.g.: footprints, 2 music players, 2 calendars - HTC's own & the stock Android version, etc) or even stock HTC Sense but with a way to move them to SD/ remove them manually.
Hope you can, as said, point me in the right direction and if you need any more details just let me know.
Please can someone remove this thread please, I've found removing system apps from htc sense has been covered many, many times before and I think this would be the best option for me. Thanks.
I was in the same position as you - tried Oxygen and had problems a few months back.
Now v2 is awesome, but I liked the styling in Redux 1.1.2 Themed version - give that a try - works on the Oxygen partition, too, so you have more space for apps. I've 301mb free after a clean Redux install
Have you had any problems with it freezing up, rebooting or anything? How fast is it?
I've just put a pre rooted stock 2.2 Rom on with apps2sd but seems to lag a bit. Also want the gingerbread keyboard back!

[Q] Battery Widget

Hi, i recently updated my sensation to ICS but it was causing errors and the phone was constantly restarting so i decided to do a factory reset. Now all is running smoothly but the HTC widgets i originally had such as the notepad and battery widget have gone.
Don't have the widgets option in the ICS HTC Hub either, any help?
Cheers, Mark
Currently using the widget from the EVO 3D for now, not the same and doesn't seem to match the proper reading. Anyone got the sensation battery widget apk?
if its the battery widget from the htc hub your looking for this is it
Is it just me or does this battery widget seem to want access to everything on the phone, there really is no need for it to have access to some of these things!
Thank you so much. I've been searching for this widget and my HTC hub doesn't work with a ICS custom ROM.
I think I found a way to make ics HTC hub work. When I first installed I skipped signing into the hub first thing , then I found it NOT to work after when I tried to sign in later . However if during the very first install you sign into the hub as soon as it asks then the HTC hub WILL work for the rest of the time. I figured this out during the process of installing several different roms. At first I was skipping the process of signing into the hub first thing during set up and that's when it never would work again. But then I tried siginning in during set up and found if I do that the HTC hub WILL continue to work for me. It will ask during first set up to sign in. Do it! Because if it's skipped it will continue to not work even if you sign in later. This has been my experience with HTC HUB. Now mines working fine when before it would never work. Give it a try and see if it makes a difference for you. However, I'm running Ordroid 9.0.0 but its a 4.0.3 or ics base also. With sense 4. Hope this helps. It's worth a try. Works for me.

Same here, although I can access soundhound and tunein from the music app...
Never had this issue.
My Soundhound Icon is here sitting on my apps menu.
Just wondering... Do you have your apps menu to show All apps?
Mine is still there, however the girlfriends is having that issue...
*Edit1* Did some digging, there are more apps having this same issue. Mounted to the computer and found some files in .android_secure, turns out it's the missing ones. Funny thing happened while I was typing this out, HTC actually called me regarding another issue I have been dealing with and I informed them of this issue as well. He tested and saw what we see. He'll be getting back to me tomorrow on both issues. I'll update once I know more.
*Edit2* Uninstall soundhound, and reinstall from the market. This will automatically create a new icon on your home screen, but it still won't show up in the app drawer. Good temp fix. Also, using the built-in google search widget you can find your installed apps that don't show up, including Tune In Radio, which I have never seen in the app drawer.

Same issue here. The icon for tunein radio disappeared out of the blue from the home screen and the list of all installed apps. The only way to get to it is through "settings- apps- all".
*Update*
HTC Called me back last night. They are still running tests and will be working on this all week. They plan on contacting me back by/on Friday evening. They are also testing the calender notification issues.
Wow- please keep us updated. Thanks!
