I flashed BAMF GingerREMIX 2.1 rom and the MR2.5 radio. I was unable to make phone calls or send texts, however I was capable of using 3G and 4G.
I searched on xda, found a post that said to reflash it. I did it, and still I'm unable to make phone calls or send texts.
Any ideas? I know it's been a popular question, but no one seems to be able to solve it.
Didn't try the 2.5 radio, seemed buggy from the posts. Running BAMF Sense 3.0 just released tonight with MR2 radio, works fine. Did u try the MR2 instead?

I have read through previous threads and I'm having an issue with Skype saying that this version dosn't run on my Thunderbolt. I recently had it running on Stock rom. I rooted and I am now running BAMF 1.6.3 with Kernel 4.4.7 .. I had the same issue on BAMF 1.6.2.
I can download the mobile version or the full version but both of them tell me that it doesn't run and that a new version with video was coming out, yet it was working on Stock. Is there something I'm missing to get this to work?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jason

Last I checked, the only Skype that works on the Thunderbolt is the leaked video one.

If he had it working prior to installing BAMF, wouldn't that not be true? Assuming the OP isn't lying, it must be a ROM issue. I myself am running BAMF remix 1.6.3. I haven't tried the market versions of skype, but the leaked one does work. Version 1.0.1.1025 I believe. I do have major problems with the video aspect of the leaked app. I can call out, but the app freezes and, well, just wigs the eff out when I try to video chat. I'm thinking this is a ROM issue with BAMF as people have reported good results with Skype video on stock so it wouldn't surprise me if your issue is also a BAMF one.
Skype got bought by Microsoft today...

I was never ever able to use the Skype app, even before I was rooted. When you downloaded it from the market and went to open it up, it would give you the message that it wasn't working for the TB yet but to check back later for an update.
The leaked one is the only one I have ever been able to run. Also, myself and many others are running the leaked version of Skype just fine on DasBAMF, it is not a ROM issue. The leaked version is the only one that will work with the TB.
Yea might just be a BAMF thing, but I'm not really sure. If I find the time tonight I might back everything up, return it to stock rom and see if it works again. I don't know if the video one worked, but I was using skype. I can't post in the dev forums under the update for BAMF yet as I don't have enough post.
Thanks for the responses.

Alright then. Well may I ask what version of BAMF you are on and what kernel? I am trying to figure out why video calling loses it's mind on my T-Bolt...

Hopefully Google Talk video will be on the Thunderbolt before too long. Won't need Skype anymore, assuming Microsoft ruins it.
Try using THIS VERSION. Just make sure in the applications settings your phone is set to allow installation of "unknown applications".(this is the working version w/video)
I will try that version and see how it goes... Thanks for all the assitance everyone.
Mine only does audio. I tried it on stock, and on The Perfect Storm 1.3 and 1.4, using wifi, 4g, and 3g. Same results - only audio and no video. I can actually see the video from the front facing camera before the other person picks up, but then the video cuts out as soon as they do.
Seems like no one else has this problem. IDK what else to try. Thoughts?

DID YOU TRY THE VERSION I POSTED PREVIOUSLY???? This version works even on the stock ROM as I have it running on a stock Thunderbolt un-rooted right now.
Thanks.... That version you posted works great. Apprciate all the help.
Anyone able to install the skype with video on the new leak?
+1 to the question in the previous post.
Unfortunately it doesn't currently support it...hopefully soon
Never had this issue where wifi will function without issues, although anything independent of wifi, which is data related, such as market, GT,will simply not work at all.
I attempted some common sense approaches to Apn, sip toggle but nothing.
Full connectivity is present in statusbar.
Regarding ROM. I thought is was my Rom when upgrading to a different version of Faux kernal, but unsure as I even reverted to stock kernal.
I decided to perform a super wipe and flash a new T-Mobile based custom rom with Faux built in.
previous ROM- Beast ROM.
Current ROM- HTC super light- HTC CLAY
This is where I stand now....
Suggestions?
Hi,
The same thing happened to me today. I updated my radio to no avail. Wasn't prepared to re-flash the ROM.
About 5 hours later, mobile data reconnected! It may have been a network-side issue, not my phone.
Has yours come back on?
Thanks for the post. Yea it actually did recently reconnect.
Maybe down as you referenced.
Morning all
I'm one of the unfortunates affected by the problem with 2.3.3 version 1.47. When the phone is connected to a 3G or HSDPA network, all the 2G functions stop working. Well documented, well known, and no sign of a fix until this week when it looks like 2.3.5 and Sense 3.0 are being released.
My DS has been stock until this last week, and I've been running it with mobile data turned off just to make sure that calls and SMS work - which isn't too smart for a smartphone
Since the problem is definitely with 1.47, I was hoping a new ROM would solve the issues. I was recommended CyanogenMod, and thought I'd give it a go. So, I got used Revolutionary, got S-OFF and installed CWM Recovery. Went off to the CyanogenMod website and realised they dont have any stable builds for the Desire S at the moment
So, having had a look around here, and realised there are equally good alternatives, I think I'm going to try Virtuous instead. That's all fine, and I'm quite looking forward to it.
Will it fix the problems though? Anyone?
I don't suffer from this problem. But I can seriously recommend virtuous. It just works perfectly and when I was using it I had no bugs whatsoever
Also I would recommend cyanogen if your not a big fan of sense

Not sure what is happening, but I constantly lose data signal either completely (with an X in place of the signal strength), or just the data like internet and email (but can still make phone calls and texting).
I'm using v21y with various ROMs, I have the new baseband fix that I'm flashing after whatever ROM i'm installing. The data drop will last for minutes, or until I restart the phone, or it will be gone until it decides to come back.
lastly I haven't received an email on my phone (but I have on my computer) since I've updated the baseband and started flashing ROMs. I'm considering reflashing the kdz file and leaving it unrooted.
I have this same issue, but I've had random data drops on previous basebands as well. The most "radio stable" I've seen this was with CM 7.1 on the v21e baseband after running GetRIL.
Currently running CM 7.2 RC w/ March 2012 baseband. Default kernel/voltage settings.

Alright well I've had good luck as of right now, I'm using the "slightly modded stock 2.3.4" that's in the Development section and I just downloaded GetRIL. The RIL is already matching my baseband, I'm also using Faux's latest v14b2 kernel for GB. I haven't had a signal drop for a few hours, which is saying a lot considering with other ROM's i've had data drops a hand full of times every hour.
Thanks for reminding me though, COMPLETELY forgot about GetRIL for some reason. Makes me second guess all the previous ROM's i've blowed over.
So yea, go this route if you want something that's actually reliable, so far at least.
Any signal loss since your last post?
Yup, I was using the MIUI that was built for v21y, and ran getRIL to fix the RIL but still didn't receive any e-mails overnight (i flashed the ROM a little before i went to sleep), I normally get at least 2 or 3 per night, never without ANY e-mails.
Saw I had the "H" in the signal bar, turned on Browser, "cannot connect..." bla blah, but I could text and call.
I was running Eagles Blood AOSP ICS yesterday AFTER I posted this thread, and I had NO problems all day, and I've flashed the Eagles Blood ROM again once I got to work and sure enough, NO signal loss.
As of now, for ICS, it seems like everything is good to go with EaglesBlood, and ONLY that ICS ROM.
As for GB, it's BuruROM P999 2.3.4 "slightly" modified stock.
Those are the only two ROMs, I haven't tried CM7, but those are the only two that don't give any signal drop.
I started with Stock 21y 2.3.4 -- everything was great, but I was missing the customization ofo other roms -- once 7.2 RC3 came out .. and the new libs.. i started trying other ROMS, but it just isn't as stable as stock 21y 2.3.4 was, so i reverted -- but I had lots of data drops/gps drops.
I re-ran GetRIL to download 21y again on stock (rooted) 2.3.4 --- and this solved the problems. So, if you are having data loss, my suggestion is to go back to 2.3.4 and reflash 21y RIL - this seems to do the trick..
I was having a lot of FCs with the stock kernal(FAUX123). I flashed the HARSH kernal, and everything runs perfect on WIFI, except Talkatone is no longer compatable???. When I leave the house, I get no data signal -3G/4G. Any help? I looked through the Harsh Thread for the P999, but it is REALLY long now, and I gave up. Also, if anyone can tell me why I cant register for the ROM updates, that would be kewl, too.
Any help?
I should mention that this ROM/Kernal combo is the ****. got over 13hours battery time with wifi.
