Hello, sometime I see my topz calling an internet connection, although no program is apparently running. I want to know which program is attempting to go to internet... How can I know that?
Try SPB Wireless Monitor, it will let you see which app is using for data connection (mms, internet, email, weather, sytem, browser, etc). you will be able to see it per day, week, month, custom period. Reports per traffic or cost, you can cutomise all.
I use it and find it very usefull so I can control my data plan (that is not unlimited )
I am using Wireless monitor, but problem is, when I see that system is using my connection, but somehow that dosn't help me, to find which application I have to stop.

I need that info in realtime, like when I see that a connection is just called I need a software that can tell me which program caused that connection in realtime...
Hi.
I recently bought Xperia X10.
Yesterday i downloaded a network monitor from market and in the morning i had 12Mb traffic
Today i disabled google sync, facebook and twitter updates, removed the weather widget from screen and i still see constant traffic.
Coming from Nokia 5800 XM, i had always a warning every time an app tried to connect to internet.
Android has something like this?
Or a way to see which app is connecting to internet?
X10 is not rooted yet so, i can't use any (iptables based... if something like this exists) firewall ...
Thanks
Install APNdroid from the Market. That should solve the problem.

It won't.
The idea is to have access to the internet but i want to know which apps are accessing the internet and allow/deny them.
I don't want to block all the traffic
I use apndroid too. Because there is not actually a app with can deny the dataconnection for apps.
I know you problem. But i have set the config, when i activate the connection my apps (mail) will automticaly update.

Where is this widget that you are talking about to turn on and off only data?? cant find it on my HTC Desire.
turning off all data DOESN'T help because will stop all the updates and sync.

which stats-counter are you using?
It's the same on my SGS2.
I'm using Call Meter 3G (beta) and after every reboot I have 12MB more on my stats.
Now I don't know if this traffic was really a download-traffic or CM3G just count 12MB + on every reboot because of a bug???
Did you test another stats-counter?
I've also tried to disable as much as possible with autostarts to fix this but I couldn't.
But the stange thing is if I reboot in the flight-mode (so you dont't have to enter a pin) it's the same --> so I guss it's a bug?
Any solution or ideas??

Edit:
I tested Call Meter 3G (beta) and DroidStats together and it seems like CM3G is buggy because DS don't add 12MB + after a reboot.
So let's hope the developer will fix it...
Another thing you could do is to compare that app's reported stats to the stats you get from your carrier (One place you can find the carriers stats is in the carrier web site).
Hello everyone,
I own a Nexus 4 and I have just gave a try to AutomateIt (FREE) app and everything went ok. I like it, it's really powerful and easy to use. So I decided I need AND/OR logic to link multiple triggers, but that requires the full version (PRO) so I installed the full version. The main problem with it is while in background/foreground, it sucks the whole internet in less the few hours. I don't know what it downloads but the network usage is about 100MB in less than a day, no matter if it is in background or foreground.
Is there anyone who found a reason/solution for a similar issue?
I know, the solution would be to restrict background data. Still, on WiFi will drain my battery and network usage keeps high itself.
Thanks.
I have the exact same problem! For now I disabled background data. Before that it drained battery big time.

Hi,
Are you sur that's a legal pro version ?
Put a firewall and do not allow AutomateIt to access the internet. It does not need internet access to work, unless you really want to download any of the "ready" solutions. I use Android Firewall: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jtschohl.androidfirewall
Cheers!
G´day,
I have a question related to tasker & face gps location:
Can Tasker do this: Record my gps route and when gps fix is lost send the last speed value to the system ?
Idea is to keep the Navi moving on while driving through a tunnel.
I don´t know how to handle the position values yet, but maybe its enough to send the speed?
Is this even possible ?
Second thing is, that when my GPS fix is lost, some of my programs just hung up or vanish in the background. I use quite a lot overlay programs and poi warner and such. Plan is, to start the simulation right after when the gps fix is lost. I´d rather can live with a false location than with the need of restarting all my overlays.
What say you ?
Regards, Gopher.
A while a go I came accross an xposed module that could control a user's usage of a WiFi network. I.e. his bandwith and his weekly data usage. I can't seem to find it now. Could someone give me a link to it if they know about it? Thanks!
