its the signal meter on the huawei ascend it shows both 3g and 1x at the same time, i read somewhere that in the build prob file you can change hd_new_doublesignal=1 to hd_new_doublesignal=0 and it makes it only show either 3g or 1x depending on what its using. could that be reversed to make it show both on the desire? but my build prob doesnt even have the hd_new_doublesignal line.
EDIT: i added ro.config.hw_new_double_signal=1 to my build.prop file rebooted and the bars are the same, so theres more to it than just adding that to the build.prop anyone know what i would need to do? i have my sisters ascend here to pull any file i need off of it to do it.

You have to change/edit the icons in the SystemUi.apk, or in a Themefile in com.android.systemui/res/drawable-hdpi

would i be able to just pull the icons from the ascend?

ok i replaced the icons in systemui.apk with some 6 bar icons, problem is there not accurate. i have read i need to edit the services.jar file for the 2 new bars to read correctly, problem is i read that i must add some strings into the StatusBarPolicy.smali file, but when i decomipled the services.jar file i have no StatusBarPolicy.smali file ?

+1 for that..try to search, but could't find!!
anyone please?
I'm pretty sure it's a theme. needs deodexed I think. If I'm wrong please tell me cos also looking for 1 but all I got is an app that sits on the left side of notification bar
at this point is is impossible to add % to the original battery by the use of an apk.
you need to modify the theme (framework-res.apk). more info here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7113274#post7113274
thank for your help, this mod works on Froyo? I'm using eclair & dont want to upgrade yet
i guess i will try one of the battery mods from modaco.com that where ment for the desire. i'll post up later if it works
this would be great!!!

This is a notification Icon set that I created based off of the Gingerbread Icons. I decided to post a zip file with all the icons in it so that a user can add them to the files they have on there own phone. This will preserve any custom modifications made to those files. Please enjoy and if you use them in a theme or anywhere else please make sure to credit me. Below is a pdf with the instructions on how to get the icons in the files and install them with a flashable zip. If you have any questions please send me a PM I will try to answer it ASAP. Most of the users on XDA are pretty advanced so I think the instructions will be nothing new or different from modify the files in other ways.
Enjoy! AND ALWAYS DO A BACKUP BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT TO CHANGE ANYTHING!

having trouble witht he zip link
I just tried it and it fully downloaded
Ok, I just tried it again and it worked. Thanks!
I followed all the steps and it looks like the only icon that actually changed was the signal bars...hmm
what icons did you copy over and did you put them in the right files?

There should be a option in CM Settings -> Power Widgets -> Color
If not, it must be implemented on CMParts.apk

Decompile "systemui.apk" using advanced apk tools (you can find that on XDA) and then in the res>>drawable-hdpi>> you will find ".png.9" files.
And then in Values>>color.xml will help you. also the res>>drawable and res>>xml>> some file matching superstatusbar...
Edit these files and you will get desired results.

Modifying The Icons On Status Bar with SystemUI

In the past days with older version of Android, it is easy to do by modifying PNG files in drawable-xxhdpi folder in SystemUI.apk, but now with the new version like Marshmallow, I can't find those specific PNG files of Wifi, signal strength and battery icons in systemui.
Not only the Z5 which I'm using now, my HTC One M8 with 6.0.1/Sense 8 can't find those files either.
How can I modify those icons now with Marshmallow?
The picture below is my HTC M8 with Lollipop+Sense 6, I have modified the Wifi and battery icon.

From Android Kitkat on, statusbar icons are drawed by code instead of being rendered from .png files.
You should root and install one of the Xposed modules that have this function, for example Xstana
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/app-xstana-navigation-status-bars-t2834474
If you are able to, you can take the challenging apk-editing way to change the icons (editing of xml and smali files inside SystemUI.apk). For the battery icon you can follow this guide (and try if it works on Z5): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2761928
