Hey guys,
I am having a strange issues. I am rooted and wanted to install Gummy ROM from my installed EE4. When I do factory reset from CWM Voodoo lagfix 3.2.0.1, the phone gets stuck on formating sdcard/.android. It tooks so long that I had to pull the battery and reflash EE4. Since then my phone as been really sluggish and slow. Has anyone experienced this yet.
Also, the card takes forever to load and ready itself whenever I turn the phone off. It says scanning... for a good 2 minutes until I can use the phone
this should be in the general section.

im not an expert on this by any means. but it sounds to me like the file system on the SD card was somehow "messed" with.
I would try to turn off voodoo lag fix, let it convert back. then reflash whatever kernel you were using, and flash imnut's CWM. then, before booting, reflash gummy 1.75. reboot the phone, wait for file system to convert back, and see how things are

So I flashed jts kernel last night everything worked great...woke up this morning and stuck on boot logo...my phone has the lag fix enabled...can I use a stock rom without kernel to fix the issue??

Re.
Great post, I'm having the exact same problem. When I turn my phone on I get Samsung for 30 minutes non-stop. If i plug into wall or computer the charging batter shows up with no juice and the wheel to check battery life but this time its not moving. I tried to reflash my kernel but it didn't boot. Instead I got the connect to computer logo im not sure what to do. Please help. Also I was in the process of restarting for the new update but it just got stuck on Samsung and here we are
I used this method below to force the device into downloading mode
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=929326
then i flashed the odin package below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1116867
then it works now
I also had lagfix enabled when something happened and I was stuck on the Samsung logo. I looked for a ROM that has the Voodoo lagfix properties (Altered Beast) and flashed that. On first boot it went into recovery, so I disabled the lagfix. Then when it booted I flashed the rooted ED1 so I could flash the EE4 OTA (for the radio).
Note: During the EE4 upgrade, it will look like it hangs at the middle point. Just wait it
out and it'll finish on its own.
I used Odin (in a VM) for the downgrade since I was unsuccessful with Heimdall (I only have Macs).
So yeah, I flashed the rooted ED1 and Voodoo within 9 hours after getting the phone. Everything was going fine until I got the EE4 update notice this morning. Without thinking (I had just woke up) I tried to install it. It rebooted and was stuck in Samsung several tries for as long as I would wait it out. I finally ran Odin again and reflashed the rooted ED1 image and Voodoo again.
My only issue now is that I cant get anything from the Market to download. It says Starting Download then immediately disappears from the notification bar and wont install/update anything. Same results downloading straight from the Android Market website. So Im just trying to figure out this now. Installing new market versions hasnt solved the problem, and neither has the clearing of cache and any other trick.
i had the same issue, cache did not mount in none voodoo system, voodoo never converted it back. flash with this odin package in the form it corrected my issue

weird....
well as weird as it sounds i was still able to get into download mode even though it was stuck on the samsung logo....what i did was flash the yellow cwm because i hadnt flashed it, after it installed i was able to get into recovery...i tried to disable the lagfix via cwm and nothing happened it just booted like normal only difference was the the low battery sound went off continuously for like 3-5 mins as it booted up..and the battery was like at 75%.... then i walked away from the phone for maybe 5 mins cause i had a customer walk in and when i returned it had rebooted itself into the triangle with the android in it...did a battery pull and rebooted like normal then randomly like 20 mins later did the same thing...reflashed jts kernel to see if that would fix it and it was a no go....still same issue...i know its a lot of stuff to take in, my main concern however would be how to force disable voodoo so that i can just try and start from scratch..any takers?? and thanks for the replies earlier guys I was beginning to think it was only me with these issues..I appreciate all the help and feedback
EDIT* just though about it..could I just take out the memory card and load it into my computer and do the whole disable-lagfix thing in the voodoo folder to achieve my goal??? then just start from scratch?
I just got a replacement G2x and ended up one click rooting it. I installed bloat freezer and started freezing programs that I did before. I accidentally froze "launcher" since I am using launcherpro anyways. It seemed to be ok, but then I froze App Pack and it gave me the constant force close like some of the apps do. I pulled the battery and upon starting it up again, it gives me the LG logo at full brightness. It then dims to half brightness and then goes black. (unresponsive)
I try power + volume down and it brings me to the unpacking android like it should for a factory reset. Shortly after, the screen goes black and just sits there unresponsive but with the notification lights lit up. I had not gotten around to doing an nvflash recovery yet and dont have rom manager or clockwork installed yet. I just want to get back to stock or be able to at least boot up.
Please help.

I believe factory reset on stock recovery is volume up + power. Either way, I'm pretty sure you have to hold them until it starts the restore process.
Nvflash CWM recovery, restore the stock nandroid dump.
This should take roughly 10 mins to complete and will get you back to stock (minus the recovery).

what he said. took the words outta my mouth ahah
Thanks guys, I had done the NVFlash before, I was just worried about bricking my phone if I did it when I wasn't supposed to
Well after doing all that, it still only boots to the LG Logo. I can enter clockwork recovery and even do a factory reset (and the G2X stock nandroid backup) but when I restart the phone it won't bring me past the LG screen.......
Any other suggestions?

Send it back saying they sent you another messed up one, and then again I suggest to you and everyone else to forget about rooting, since there are more negatives that outweigh the benefits to a rooted phone. It's just foolish and it's no wonder that the G2x has a lot of problems, it's because most that do complain of a problem have rooted or tried rooting the phone.
If I send it back and they get it to boot, it will still have superuser which means it was rooted. I don't want them to void any warranty and I am sure they would not have let it out of the warehouse like that.....
Rooting is not the reason the G2X has problems. LG is the problem....
Anyone have anything useful for me to do. I like that I can at least enter recovery and do a factory reset, I just need to get this thing to boot past the LG logo.
Did you do full wipe before restoring. Install a different rom instead of stock....

After you did the reset and it would not boot up - have you tried pulling the battery and booting up again? I have had to do that a number of times.
I have pulled the battery so many times. What will flashing a new rom do that a stock rom won't?
After you restored the stock nandroid, did you wipe data, cache, dalvik again?
Wipe before and after restore. It works, I've done it oodles of times.
In addition to what GideonX posted, make sure you format system, format cache, and format data.
I did just as Gideon stated and it still cannot boot past the LG logo. I wiped everything before, flashed Gunmann's stock nandroid backup, then wiped everything again....
What now?

This same thing happened to me on my second night of fooling around with the phone. I fixed it by reflashing with the nvflasher. Make sure you follow all the steps to the T.
I followed every single step exactly. I ended up just putting the battery in and it booted fully after about 5 hours of sitting there. The battery was at 1% about to die. I don't know what made it boot up near its battery death. Either way, I was able to unroot and the next time I turned the phone off, it wouldn't boot again. It looks like it is an issue with the phone itself
Same problem
Hey, did you fixed the problem??
I'ts happening with my G2x...
Some times, it wont boot up, i leave it alone, and then powers up with 1% or 0% battery.
Today booted up with the right charge. And works flawlessly. But if i power it off i'm shure that the problem will be back.
How

I only installed PBJT voodoo lagfix kernel two days ago, along with 0817_charge recovery.
My data kept dropping so i restarted my phone. After the restart I kept getting FC's before I could even slide my puzzle piece over.
I restarting my phone again only to have my phone shut off after the droid boot aninmation.
I did a factory wipe without luck. I also disabled lagfix, and still no luck.
I ran across the "How to fix your phone" thread, but Im still waiting for the ROM to finish downloading.
Any other tips would be really helpful. Thanks!!!
*Edit* Follow instructions in How To-Fix your phone post. Just be sure to download ED1.

that might be your best bet at that point, odin EE4 stock with PIT file and start over
My infuse is rooted with zues. A few weeks ago, it was stuck on the samsung boot logo and it keeps looping. I wiped data and cache and installed zues again and it was fixed. Last night, this happened... so my phone turns on for 2 minutes max, then turns off and starts the loop. I can only keep on for 2 minutes before it starts looping again. by saying keeping it on for 2 minutes, i mean everything works! talk, text, games, ect...
so i turned it off, went to clockwork or root menu, whatever you guys call it, and i wiped data and cache. Whats weird is that even on boot menu or clockwork, it still wont stay on, it keeps turning off and turns on and loops!
i installed zues again, still turns off and loops
next step? is my phone dead?
Did you have any undervolt settings applied?
The phone is not underclocked, it is not overclocked. It was rooted, I unrooted it. its currently unrooted absolutely factory stock and still doing that. What can I do to fix this?
warranty is over as of 3 months ago
Forgot to mention the most important thing!!!
When I am on the phone with someone, it works perfectly forever, as soon as i hang up, it ends the call. this key thing might help someone find the solution!!

Don't panic just yet... I doubt your phone is dead.
You say you've "wiped data and cache". Are you also making sure to wipe /system and Dalvik Cache?
Try flashing Zeus again.
Boot to CWM, Wipe EVERYTHING (/data, /cache, /system, Dalvik Cache). (Alternatively, get "Clean Wipe" from Qkster's Scripts and flash with CWM to easily wipe everything.)
Flash Zeus and go.
If you're still having problems, perhaps try a different rom?
okay, I read everything you guys wrote.. This is where I am, I am open to suggestions
I am on the stock rom and unrooted. Phone still boot loops. What should I do now? Step by step instructions would be great. Im unrooted, so should i root again? even though im having this problem?
bump! really need help with this guys!
Have you tried going back to stock?
If it keeps looping while on download mode then I would say you are dealing with a hardware issue.
Sent from my sweet & buttery Infuse
It just came to me that it doesn't loop in download mode. It does loop in clockwork, I flashed the stock kernel using ODIN and went completely stock through ODIN.
How do i fix this? i'm pissed that i had it for a year and three months and right after the warranty ended, the phone stopped working! Samsung never again unless this issue is fixed
I'm a newbie to flashing, so take it with a grain of salt. At least two more things seem worth trying to me:
1 - Try factory data reset (assuming you already tried the wipe Davlick and wipe cache). I'm not positive what this does, but I think you may lose some of your data if it's not backed up.
2 - If that doesn't work, try qkster's Heimdall UCLB3 stock (since you can get into download mode...shouldn't be a problem). This is complete back to stock so should be able to clear any software problem I'd think. I know you may think it's redundant since you are already back to stock, but worth trying imo since some things just take more than one try, and you may have had a bad flash the first time around.
Why zeus? try latest ones with jelly bean
Hey,
Try other roms based out of jelly bean. They are pretty stable. CM10 with 09/14 build is the latest
Here are the standard steps if you have CWM enabled.
1. Factory re-set (only when switching between different roms).
2. Cache partition wipe
3. Dalvik Cache wipe
4. Install the zip file
5. Re-start and wait until it re-starts. Initially it will take some time.
I have tried various roms and versions as well. Best would be the CM10 Jelly bean.
Thanks Kran.
Over the summer I rooted my Droid Razr HD phone and recently have been trying different roms to use and finally found one I liked (Liquid JB official). After being out late one night my phone died because it ran out of battery. Once I got home I tried plugging it in and letting it charge for awhile before turning it back on. When I finally tried turning it on my phone got stuck on the red Motorola "M" symbol. I let it sit for almost 30 min thinking it was just trying to load everything but this never changed. Is this usual for a rooted phone not to be able to turn on? It seems to me like my phone is not able to find the boot up file for the rom? Any help would be great I really would like to go back to using a different rom.
This problem has also happened to me using other roms to like Beanstalk and Eclipse and happens whether my phone dies or I shut it off or just reboot it.

thats defiantly not normal. you should wipe everything 100% clean and start over, also updating your recovery to the latest version. during the wipe process make sure you wipe "data-media-/sdcard" too (NOT external sd, unless you want to and have things backed up).
also, its extremely bad for the battery to let it run down to the point where it shuts off. its only a matter of time, repeatedly doing that, before you plug it in and it will not charge no matter how long you leave it on for.

In all likelihood, this is not a LiquidSmooth issue. I would suggest a clean install as the previous posters suggested. The latest stable version of LS is now at v2.10 for Android 4.3
LS 2.10 must be installed as follows, according to the devs:
New Flashing Instructions
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
wipe dalvik cache
format /system
Install ROM, NOT GAPPS YET!!
Reboot system, first boot may take a few minutes, don't panic ;-D
Setup your phones settings, anything that isn't Google related
or let your phone sit for 5 minutes
reboot back into recovery
wipe cache and dalvik
then flash gapps
reboot and enjoy

For the xt926, the download page for LS 2.10 is here: http://d-h.st/users/jsnweitzel/?fld_id=15202#files
gapps 8/13 or newer are supposed to be used with this ROM. dl from here: http://d-h.st/users/jsnweitzel/?fld_id=21058#files
The official ROM page is over at G+ https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/117452480298315341829, if you have any additional questions.
Give it a whirl, and let us know what happens. Good luck.

you are wiping very well, i was just confirming you wipe everything possible short of the external sd.
the wipe im talking about in twrp is wiped when you wipe "data", the one where you have to type "yes" before it will wipe. in cwm, in the formatting section (i forget what its called), there is an option that specifically says "data-media /internal sd" or something close to that.
as for the latest recoveries, here is a tool by Tucstwo that i have been updating lately http://www.mediafire.com/download/2o061zcmzlaycb5/Razr_HD_Recovery_Flasher_V8.rar
also, twrp 2.5 doesnt have all the selinux bugs worked out, you need 2.6.3.0, which is in the above utility.
