Here's the Droid 2 multi-touch keyboard ported by invisiblek that I themed with the Froyo Stock keyboard. It should work on any Froyo based deodexed ROM. This will replace your stock keyboard so make a nandroid backup first. I'm also including the FRF91 stock keyboard. Both files are installed from recovery.
Thanks to invisiblek and enragedpaza for all their help and guidance.
Works great! Thanks for including the stock keyboard.
Great Job it works wonderfully. I do like the white one though. I use it on all my 2.1 devices!
I anyone can port it plain white that would be AWESOME.

It should as long as your hardware supports it.

Thanks. Much better than the white version. I appreciate it.
having a slow moment here so bear with me .. flashing this replaces stock keyboard .. i got that .. now op stated that he included the stock one also ..
so couple questions
1. if i flash this then flash the stock will i have both or will it just over ride each other
2. is there a htc ime port for froyo devices
thanks for the responses
never mind i used the search button and found my answers ..gonna flash this now
1. If you flash both, whichever you flashed last will take precedence. At the moment it's one or the other sadly.
2. Not sure, sorry
is there a way to install from sd using terminal?
Sorry if this has already been explained elsewhere but, what sorta additional functionality would this offer over the stock keyboard? What are some of the multitouch functions that are possible that become second nature through use of this it you know what I mean?
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
any way to just install this without removing the original keyboard? guess this version cant just install like a normal apk or like the htc keyboard.

I was wondering the same thing, then realized that it would be better figured out if I just flashed the damn thing myself. I think the stock keyboard is kinda slow, but this keyboard allows me to type more quickly without having to utilize spell check as often. The only thing that sucks about this KB is that there is no customization such as turning off key previews or changing the vibration duration.
Other than that, I wish we had a fully working HTC IME with multi touch (maybe we do, I forgot).
apparently u can hold down shift to cap one letter like on a real keyboard, not sure gonna try it now
works great on leofroyo.
is there a way to disable the fullscreen UI in landscape like HTC_IME ?
Root Explorer
is there a way to install this via root explorer?
I am using the hd2 - with darkstone sense build so i do not have the option to flash via recovery.
Hey, so i had issues with colors after installing BFS Matr1x, which got me looking into the whole 2.3.3 color deal. people say its more vibrant, and since i dont recall having any sort of issue with the colors but actually loving them back in 2.3.3, i was wondering if someone would be able to make a flashable zip that works with any rom and kernel and fixes the colors to make them pre 2.3.3? i saw a thread about matr1x kernels with pre 2.3.3, problem is that one isnt updated + its a whole kernel. i wanna be able to fix the colors on whatever kernel i happen to be using, rather than wait for someone to fix the colors of each update or each kernel seperately...in my mind it seems like it would be an easy development, but im no dev, so what do u guys think?
Hope someone can help me out!
Thanks
~ Ramy
Good idea. Like in an app or something?
Like a flashaable zip like we had with tethering fix and such apps work too tho, of we can achieve same quality

The colors are modified at the source level. Wont happen. Matr1x pre 2.3.3 was updated

Snandal is a really nice guy and if you ask him nicely he just might build your favorite kernel with pre 2.3.3 colors given the kernel source is available and accessible

I wouldn't mind a Netarchy 1.4.0 universal with pre 2.3.3 colors only if you are bored and have nothing better to do. TIA.

You may want to try the new Baseband and 2.3.4. They did some work on the camera and seems to be a bit better. The ISC build's do not have the Video drivers for the camera to function fully.
thanks for your reply...i am new to this mobile terminology as well technology...can u suggest me any url for updating baseband version

If on cm7 flash the LG camera modified for cm7, and if on stock the flash the regular LG camera. It's way better than the stock camera.

I guess try googling it, it should come up. It's amazing as always.
Does the Front camera work with it for skype and such? I know when I used the LG cam for 2.3.3 the front cam did not work correctly
I never use the front camera. You can always nandroid, flash, test, then nandroid back if it doesn't work.
Is this the mod you are talking about?

The first one. And its actually better than the 2.3.3 version. Confirmed working, I've been using it for a while now.

Hi,
My dad has a P500 and since his eyesight is not so good, he can barely read the phone numbers and text. I think his device has Android 2.2, and there doesn't seem to be an official upgrade to Gingerbread in my country.
From what I understand, there is no option in Android itself to increase system font size. I found an app for this (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.a0soft.gphone.bfont&hl=en) but it needs Gingerbread at the minimum.
Can anyone here recommend a Gingerbread ROM that also supports a Russian interface?
Thanks.

Root that phone and flash CyanogenMod, then there are so many new features, you can also change font, overclock it and make it faster

Should I use the official Gingerbread CM for P500, or do I need to install a custom one from these forums? (Note, I found an official "stable" one here: http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=stable&device=p500). I assume it has a Russian translation, right?
I'd love if it if you could give me a link to a something proper!

So you recommend the stable CM7 from the CM website?
Btw, what about neko's Ginger Snap ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1529777)? It seems like it has pretty nice UI, do you happen to know anything about it? Or should I just flash vanilla CM7?

Stable cm7 has more bugs than the up to date nightlys (yes, from cm site)
Also, feel free to flash Ginger snap(it's based on a nightly build) if you like its prebuilt themes/tweaks/kernel

Use this app..
Heh, this is so ironic! The apps (both Big Fonts and Spare Parts) both seemed to increase fonts everywhere except one place that bothered him the most - the contacts!
When you click on a contact, it shows a list of their phone numbers. Like "Home" and under it the actual number. These phone numbers are very small, and it looks like the font size change doesn't affect this particular field.
Maybe there's an alternative contacts application that has a different interface that I could use?

I am using exDialer and it does have the option to increase the font size for the contacts list. To change the font size, just press menu > preferences > appearance.
