Just some fyi

For the heck of it I tried installing an APk through astro file manager. It installed no problems.
I do have a completely stock inspire I bought yesterday.
Just thought I would make a quick mention because I kept seeing that side loading was disabled.

Just tried again and no go, app install blocked for security reasons

Don't know what to say then to he honest. I had astro on here to handle SD card stuff. Downloaded the rock player apk from the website. Installed through astro with no problem.
To make sure I wasn't going nuts, because I had rock installed through the market, I uninstalled both installed rock apps, restarted, and installed only the apk via astro. I did download the apk from my phone.
That's how it worked for me.

try a different apk besides that possibly cache or something affecting it. but I do know I cant and probaly no others can otherwise would be no reason for sideloader.

I just downloaded pirates vs ninjas and installed via astro again. It'd working. Did you try installing the apk via astro off the SD card?

Yes, the Inspire allows sideloading.
Make sure "Unknown Sources" is checked under the Applications tab in the Settings.

Stock inspire supposebly doesn't. The stock rom doesn't have the unknown sources option. I honestly have no idea why it does on mine.
The backlfip allowed it this way. After the Aria though att locked android from installing anything but off the market.
This shouldn't work on my phone, but it does.

this dude is confused lol check unknown sources! yea well just be glad it works for ya because i dont think it does for anyone else, and yes I tried some through astro thats what i always use. Tried again after reading your post no go.

How to uninstall Google Books?

Hi,
I've installed Google Books some weeks ago to play with it. But now I'm not able to uninstall it because the option is disabled. Today I went to 2.3.4 but there is the same situation.
Is there any way to get rid of it?

It is a system/app. Im pretty sure, you have to root and use something like root explorer to delete it from the system.

Its installed as part of 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 ROMs. I installed it manually when I was on 2.3.2, but its now disabled as I'm not in the US and I'm running 2.3.4.

+1 or use Titanium Backup or uninstall it or ADB or whatever your most comfortable with
root access is a necessity.

Everybody does have Google books installed but if you are outside the US it is usually frozen and doesn't show up in the app draw.

[Q] Is there a way to disable DSP manager?

Basically I don't need it. I didn't enable any of the compression options, but I still got FC on DSP manager together with my music app. I'm wondering if there is a way to completely disable it or delete it.
Running CM7 official on NS4G. Thank you very much.
UPDATE: I uninstalled it using TB. Thank all the help.

I think you can "freeze" the app if you have titanium backup

You can even uninstall it using Titanium Backup.

Open your file manager (Root Explorer, ES File Explorer, etc), browse to System / App, mount as read/write then delete the DSP apk.
Done. I do this with every rom that includes this app, since I never use it.

Hello, I installed a rom on my htc s one, miss the application location is very useful to me where I can find it?

If I understand your question, you're asking where does the app get install?
System apps goes in system/app
Download app (sideload) goes in data/app

What rom are you using? because they might have removed more then just the apks files.

[Q] How to switch off App update notification?

Ok, So, I have XE Currency 2.06 installed on my phone. Now, Xe, had come up with version 3.01 and then 3.02. I tried them, did not like them and hence went back to 2.06.
The problem I have is that every time I restart my phone I get a notification that an update has been found. Is there anyway to switch off the notification for specific apps?

First of all copy / backup that version u do like on TB.
2nd:
Just turn off all update notifications on Play market. Just go there once in awhile to update the apps u want.
