1st- We try to keep these kind of questions in the general section. The "Development" section is for actual roms, hacks, and mods. It gets kinda confusing, I know.
2nd- Rom Manager needs clockworkmod to work. As of right now It is not working for the sgs4g. As previously stated they are working on it.
3rd- There are no real "rom's" to speak of yet ported to our device. There are a couple in this section that are basically stock rom updates.
I would read ALLOT before starting to mod your phone. This will get you started, and you can read how to use odin in the vibrant section, just remember do not flash anything from that section.
Thank you and will do

Check Here for CWM. This is the only way to use it now. It will be available in the market soon.
Rom Manager will boot you into recovery, until that time when we get a fully functioning Rom Manager, if you have a rooted and CWM installed phone.
but some people are saying that the option too flash it is already there now??
options- galaxy s vibrant and vibrant (mtd) which one is sgs4g

You can flash now. Just not with the ROM Manager app. You have to use CWM and do it through there. Read how to do it in the Developers threads.
thats what im asking when will koush add our fones to rom manager app???

Who knows.....only Koush will know. Krylon already sent him it for approval. So hit up Koush and you will find your answer. That is if he has the time to answer you back. Just wait. If you can't wait then just do what the rest of us are doing. It's not that difficult to do what is asked to get CWM working if you want to do some Flashing now.
Well I already did that but I just wanted to use rom manager because its easier to get updates and crap like that

It is possible, don't listen to him.. make sure to have clockwork recovery, and flash this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17398464
[ROOT] G2X Gingerbread 2.3.3. stock ROM with flashable zip in Clockworkmod Recovery works with stock froyo or your stock Ginger ,there's also an unroot zip

Noodles is right. It's a VERY simple process when you follow the instructions. It seems like no matter how many people I tell about this, it never catches on and G2x users keep saying "it's not possible." It either needs to be stickied, or added to the "[REF] ALL ROMS | ROOTING | FAQs | STICKIES | POSTING RULES | Read Before Posting" that's already stickied.
*EDIT:
just PMed the author of the thread I just mentioned. Hopefully he'll add it to his list...
Seriously, simplest process.. unbrickable in my opinion.. back and forth.. root and unroot so many times with this, especially since I've had 3replacements .. I probably sent 2 back with the green signals by mistake but they're all unrooted when I sent them

I would like to thank you both it was the easiest process once you find the right people who are wiling to help phone works flawless !Thank you both again

Well only reason he was giving you precautionary tips was because you needed to create a whole thread on where to get ROM's when the Dev section is just a couple spots under the General section...

True. Im thankfull 4 any advice n tips. Ive just used one click root for mac though it seems i didnt root. I hold down volume n power n it seems like it restores me back to stock.
I will be nice and point you in the direction you need. Look up NVflash this is how you get cwm. Unlike most phones you can flash the recovery before you get root. Make sure you do a backup of the stock rom and keep a copy on your computer. Then flash what ever rom you wish.
By keeping your stock unrooted back up will allow easy restore of stock system and the use of nvflash to go back to stock recovery if warranty is ever needed.

Thank Scooter and follow the links he gave you. You don't really need to achieve root in able to flash ROM's for this phone. You just need CWM via NVFlash and you're good to go.
To put it onto perspective, NVFlash is kinda like Odin.

+1 for funniest thread tonight, and since I feel like crap and this made me guffaw, that's a +10.

Is it possible to make internet snappier?

I just rooted my phone yesterday and removed all the bloatware (big thanx to Lumin30)
Now I'm wondering if I can make it even snappier without flashing too much stuff on it.. since I'm too new to this business and would prefer having my phone mostly stock

Boat browser is the fastest I've used. DL from market.
If you have cwm installed. I'm assuming you do since you're rooted. Dsexten's adrenalin shot and the scroll mod can work wonders for making things snappy while maintaining a stock phone.

Please use the Q&A Forum for questions &
Read the Forum Rules Ref Posting
Moving to Q&A
For actual data speed, you can probably make it faster by leaving your phone on CDMA mode only (keeps you locked in 3G/4G). If left in Auto mode, it will revert to EDGE when you aren't using data.
I feel like it makes a noticeable difference, since your phone won't need to switch back and forth.
As for the actual speed of a browser, I've been using Dolphin since I got my phone. It's very snappy.

Thanx.. can u please tell me a way to flash that... I'm new to this. My phone is rooted thru superoneclick.
I'm on stock gingerbread. I would love to be able to run that rom since it will free up a lot of system storage... is it glitchy at all?

It will be easy for you. First download SGS Kernel Flasher from the market.
Thanx again Lumin... I downloaded the kernel flasher, what do I do now
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
Read the first link in my signature where it talks about SGS Kernel Flasher.
ADD:Alex - Let me know if the directions were clear or if you need any additional help.
It was somewhat clear... I appreciate u making that thread and taking ur time to answer but I'm still somewhat clouded... I need to install a kernel with vodoo lag fix before I install a rom.. when I go to the link of vodoo lag fix it says attention its still buggy and vodoo sound maybe coming soon... all of that is making me somewhat worried... but the rom flashing steps are confusing to me since I'm like a blind baby to this flashing stuff.

If you don't want to use the kernel then you can use KJ1. I haven't had a problem with the kernel. And when you flash the custom ROM it will have that same kernel -- just updated. You only flash that kernel to get CWM to flash the ROM. When you flash the ROM it comes with a kernel that will overwrite the kernel you flash with SGS.
And Voodoo sound is not the same as Voodoo lagfix.
You just need to follow the direction to get where you want. If you think some of the directions are clear... then tell me which one's and how. I will take a look at and see if I can make them clearer.

Check your mounts in mounts and storage and read the OP of ROM for correct mounts – U=Unmount / M=Mount. I had to change some coming fresh out of the box.
o Then choose 'install zip from sdcard', then 'choose zip from scard', then go to bottom, find ROM you copied over, select install and wait.
thats a lil confusing...
and to double check the first step:
all i have to do is download Subtly Modified Stock for T959V KJ6 v0.1.1-rc1 and flash that kernel with kernel flasher from the market? simple as that?
Yes on the kernel.
Don't worry about the mounts. I need to change that. The aroma installer will handle that for you now. What ROM are you going to flash?
ICBINB 2.3.7 since I read its mostly stock with no theming and is super fast and only uses 46mb internal space since it heavily debloated... would u recommend it?
BTW thanx again man!
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
Yes.
Go reread the guide. Take notes when you go through. PM me anything you think needs to change or be added. If you have flashed the kernel - just flash it - follow the directions to flash the ROM and you are good to go. Take note of the steps in the Aroma Installer you do and PM those also and I will add them to the guide. Aroma Installer is what you will see after you select install for the ROM.

Hopefully you noticed when I said reread the guide it is because I updated it. I am asking for your input as somebody fresh using the guide. I know what I am doing and it is easy to leave out the little steps when writing the guide that noobs may need. Hopefully you can help make it a better guide!
Good luck!

Hey Lumin.. so I did like u asked I believe u did miss a step.. I just installed quick boot.. did a back up... but from cwm recovery I don't know where to navigate to install the icbinb rom... it has a list.. back up.. reboot.. update zip file or something like that... etc which one do I chose? And do u need to extract the icbinb rom zip file? Or just put it like that in the root of my sd? Before that do I need to wipe anything? Thanx a lot again
