Basically I am new to the forum and I heard I can use "Android" or "Windows 6.5" on my HTC Diamond Touch, so herre's my questions;
How do I upgrade it?
How do I back my Data up?
Is there a Android ROM that has everything which fully works? If not I'll settle for a Windows 6.5 with no bugs aswell.

Sorry all but....
I am simply trying to find out how to flash my HTC TYTN II from Windows Mobile 6.1 to 6.5. The only thing I have sucessfully managed to do so far was to re-flash the orginal ROM the phone shipped with from the HTC web site. Is it a problem with my phone or is the HTC ROM update program user friendly in some way (looks identical!?) that no others here would seem not to be? I have read no end of programs that seem to need to be used or installed on the PC and\or phone but no clear set of end to end instructions when using the images from here!? I have tried 4 or 5 different ones and all lose connectivity as soon as the program starts to try and flash my phone. Fortunately pulling the battery and powering back up restores normal functionality. This leads to my final question please. Do HTC write user friendly ROM update software for their devices that work without anything else needed where no else seems to or am I missing something? If nothing else assuming I need to this manually could someone please point me to where I can finda full set of instructions please?
What other than updates that simply seem no to work on my phone am I missing soemthing. I am even more seriously considering the Nokia N97 now as Symbian updates are simple to apply and work out the box! Not like these nightmares it would seem!

WM 6.5 has been announced but not officially released, so there is no HTC update. I don't know what you have been trying to download.
The only 6.5 roms available are cooked roms derived from leaked betas of WM 6.5 or roms derived from M$ development tools packages. So if you want an HTC/M$ 6.5 rom, you are out of luck, because it does not exist.

I have AT&T Tilt, barely used, Cant get help to upgrade from manufacturer no longer support. Can you please tell me what upgrade is available and instructions on how to install. Thanks very much Lost.

Just bought my first windows mobile, htc touch hd, and I want to flash WM 6.5 on it.... I have several questions:
Is it safe to do that? or should I be worried about some complications?
what kind of knowlege I should have to do that? or does it as simple as having a new windows operating system on my laptop?
where can I find a step by step clear, simple english, instructions how to do that?
Is it different from the upcoming official windows mobile 6.5? am I going to be able to download applicatons from the upcoming offical windows mobile marketplace?

I just get the same problem. I googled this but still didn't get any answers. So where can I find a step by step clear simple english instructions how to do that? I know nothing about flashing the phone.....
You will need to find a rom specific for your phone
first find out if you have a GSM or CDMA carrier, if you try to flash a GSM rom to a CDMA phone you will brick it. (brick = bad)
then check out a rom website like for example, MightyRom

If you follow instructions you won´t have any problem. On my opinion cooked ROM´s by our great chefs here at XDA are much much better than the official ones
Then enter to blackstone section and select your 6.5 desired ROM

First of all, thanks for reading this, it's my first question and there were a lot of answers about some questions from users that were usseful for me.
I have HTC Touch Diamond 2 and i would like to know the best way and the safe way too, to install wm 6.5. At the Support from the oficial HTC site, it was possible for me to download the file that will install it.
And i would like to know the best software to make the Backup in HTC Dimond 2.

I have a Touch HD and i want to flash the Rom from 6.1 to 6.5, but this is my first WM Phone so i have absolutely no idea what i should do.

Where instead of file #4 in the 'files you need to download' list, you need to download a 6.5 ROM from the 'Blackstone' forums.

This is a development forum not a rom forum. Also you might what to look at the devices as the diamond has many windows mobile roms.
