when i surf or watching movie, the divice generate heat. and battery perfomance is bad i am using 3G.
also last night it's not charging i have turn of get out battery and than turn it on so many times than it charged i don't know the reason....
device is awesome 3D effect is awesome the audio is good but the speaker volium is low.... when it ring...
tell me abt other review.....
Traded my g2x and 200 for the sensation. Yes, I REALLY WANTED IT lol.
Two days after trading, heres what ive noticed...
Pros...
Nice screen, in comparison to my g2x, I'd rate them equal.
Battery life, GREAT! 24 hours of light use, about 16 heavy use. G2x was 8-16 stock b4 rooting.
Cons...
Lag, naturally sense ui is going to hang more often that lgs' "stock" framework. With that said, unless my battery temperature gets over 40 degrees c, it runs smooth. After 40 degrees? I have to reboot and let the phone sit to cool down.
Heat, my particular device gets rather hot with heavy use over a period of 30 minutes or more.
Keyboard, the "swype" mod on the htc keyboard really can't compete with swype itself. However, its awesome having a rough hybrid of the 2.
What's with the nonscrolling live wallpapers? Dual core processor and it can't handle scrolling live wallpapers? Confused...
In the end, I am happy with the sensation, but I do wish I didn't have the heat issues so bad... Once s off and root are accomplished, I'm sure cm7 will run beautifully on this phone. Until then, I'll get my sense ui fix. ;-P

got my Sensation 2 days ago, really digging it so far.
love the big screen.
not sure if it has to do with qhd's higher pixel but typing seems lot more accurate... this just could be due to the screen size.
the phone is so sexy... Design department at HTC did a great job.
hands down best looking handset currently out.
battery life seems decent.
speaker could be a bit louder but I guess it's typical of HTC product.
having fun with the phone so far.

I just got mine Yesterday and I love everything about it. Its an amazing phone
Got the phone this Friday and love it ... honestly, i didnt noticed any of those major bugs i saw when browsing throughout the forum xept the white lines someone mentioned but thats problem of like two widgets and not the phone itself. Yet theres one thing, maybe its bug or whatnot, whats pissing me off ... imminent audio muting and call autopickup when using any kind of headset, its very annoying especially when u have a call from a person you dont realy want to speak with (example yer boss on Friday and Saturday night ... dig it? )
On the other hand ... iam not realy impressed by the 8Mpix camera nor the so called "fullHD" videos since they look like ass no matter what you do.
Anyway ... on the scale from 0 to 10 ill give it a 12 ... where 10 is my iPhone 4 16GB and 3 my lol HD Mini failphone.
I love it based on its potential. Once its rooted this phone be is gonna special. Right now it feels like the software is underusing the hardware imo.

Loving the phone. build quality is amazing. you are actually holding a phone and every other plastic phoneish stuff feels like a toy from then. Only con is they could have made the speaker and headset volume a bit louder but when we get root i am sure this will be fixed.
People who are complaining about lags. Sense 3.0 is a great interface and my phone does NOT lag. I know people are gonna say their dhd with a custom rom will run smoother but sensation is on a stock rom so please stop telling about this. Sensation is going to fly with custom roms it is gonna be so smooth that it would slip away in your hand.

I've had the Sensation for 9 days now and it's simply amazing. Coming from the HD2, I'm amazed by how fast it is (one of the few who don't whine about how it doesn't feel like dual core phone?) and so far, everything works the way it should *knocks on wood*
Again, coming from the HD2, I also like how the phone feels when you're holding it in your hand, so much better than the HD2.
And I also don't mind the locked bootloader. Of course, it would/will be nice to have it unlocked, but I can live with having the stock rom on it.
Battery an issue
Love the phone so far, except the lack on mini HDMI, battery could be better and of course the low volume, 8 out of 10 for me will see how the SGII stacks up

After owning my Sensation and hearing about all the issues on here. and having one or two myself. im having mixed feelings about keeping the sensation over my Desire HD. Anyone else feel the same way
Just wanted to really know how many people own a sensation now or keeping it or selling it off.
might help me make a decision. or see how other people feel.
After all it is potentially £450 ($600) daily part of our life

me too, i have noticed that my network signal is not far behind from my dhd. sometimes it sems better but majority of the time it is the same or 1-2 bars lower than my dhd. its easier to deathgrip the sensation.
but dhd does suffer from deathgrip too i tried it.
Also im thinking the problem may be cured a little either by HTC or if different radios are released and roms.
So far, im very pleased with mine. Great screen with realistic color reproduction and resolution, Sense is nice for stock and i really enjoy the shape of the curved glass. The phone feels slim in your hand because of it's palm friendly shape.

I must say I am keeping mine. the full price @ 648 isn't worth it but I'm a phone addict. This screen and sense 3.0 is beautiful. If you put your hand at the back of the phone to have the audio come up and it bounces off your hand then the speaker is loud but unfortunately it shoots out in the whole room and its low if you don't do that. The phone gets hot sometimes but not as much as the first day. It's was burning up. Beyond that, the memory isn't an issue!

I thought i'd never see a phone that felt better than the Nexus One. Then hearing it had a 4.3" screen, I thought it would be a behemoth like the HD7, the only other 4.3" phone i've owned. But it feels much smaller and natural to hold. And i've always been a fan of Sense.
Unless some bugs start showing up, this puppy's staying.
I've decided on the evo 3d. Bye bye sensation

I love mine, but the internet connection is very slow most of the time. If I'm not on Wifi, it's pretty bad. Maybe a custom ROM will help, or new radio, etc. But yeah, definitely keeping it, barring some tragic accident or malfunction, in which case I would just buy a new one lol
I own this htc sensation just for a day.. I am very dissapiont with the wifi signal wifi signal can block by one finger! this is unacceptable. I don't think I can keep it, I want to exchange with a samsung galaxy s 2.

Hey fellas. This is for people who are thinking about getting a sensation. If you don't care about this phone.. DON'T READ. Thanks.
Well I just got my sensation about an hour ago from walmart. I'm really digging this phone. The screen is huge, the colors are fantastic and its lighter. TOO light for my liking honestly. Feels like I'm holding a vibrant. I hate the fact its so light. It feels fake to me kinda. I love the way the g2 feels. Its not light, but its not chunky and heavy.
The build quality is pretty good. It feels FANTASTIC in the hand but I still don't like the lightassedness this phone has. I still prefer the battery door latch that our vision has but its not hard at all to get the back off.
Speed: not even going to lie. Its fast. Pretty damn fast. But compared to our vision is what you guys want to know. And having them side by side having the sensation obviously stock and my vision obviously not (oc'd to 1.2 gigs) I don't honestly see a difference.. at all. Probably after root gets here and a little oc hits this then we will see.
If anyone wants to know anything ie want me to run tests against it etc just let me know. Just for reassurance : THIS IS JUST FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE DEBATING ABOUT GETTING THIS PHONE AND WANTED TO KNOW SOMEONES OPINION. I love reading people's opinions on phones and I always come here to read people opinions on their experience with the phone I want. Just wanted to give back my opinion. Maybe it might help someone, maybe it won't.

To me honestly I LOVE this screen. very nice and responsive (unlike my vision sometimes sadly) and the colors are better. i am a little biased sure (ive been waiting for a 4.3 inch screen for a while) but the big factor for me at least is that the pyramid is visible outside. i think its a really big step up.
How are data speeds? I know it's a 14.4 device, but a newer radio may be better optimized - also -how is the reception? Battery?
Have you had a chance to use HTC watch yet?
I have a G2 currently and love it, I really like the look of the Sensation though..
4G is insanely slow right now honestly. i think its because the device isnt even released by tmobile yet so im not making it a biggie right now. when its working though, its extremely quick, especially on wifi. and there is virtually no lag whatsoever anywhere especially when using the device. and it gets faster over time. havent used htc watch though yet im sorry. cant make any calls on the battery life. this is still my first run through of the battery.

Looks like it has the Sense keyboard to me. The gingerbread keyboard is black right?
I am also coming from a G2. I love this phone in every aspect. However, I do find myself switching back to the G2 every now and then simply because it has root and a trackpad for scrolling long articles. Thats probably the only thing I miss. A trackpad, never realized how much easier it made things. Would you all happen to know of an app that givesu a thumb scroll in every app like the music app has? I have no idea why htc, or google (whoever's fault it is) chose not to integrate this feature all around.
Well, not here to ask questions as I already bought the Galaxy S II(was between that and the Sensation),but I can tell you some things for sure.
Sometimes, you're gonna miss that extra RAM that HTC for some reason didn't give this phone.768mb on the Sensation with Sense 3 is as pure stupid as the good camera with no flash on the Galaxy S.Second is that, although the Adreno 220 is REALLY good and is bound to get even better with root and, obviously, overclocking,it isn't really the beast that'll handle the qHD screen with ease, especially when scrolling through screens.
For the rest,I still think that it's a hell of a good phone, just not quite the upgrade from my Desire HD.Not comparing or fanboyin' or anything(ALL my smartphones until now were HTC after all),but just HTC could have made it better.I kinda like the Evo 3D though...
I haven't seen any lag on the sensation at all.are you referring to the sense launcher when you say scrolling through screens? Cuz with that, there is no lag either. I knew there was less ram when I bought it and I thought I might end up regretting it but I honestly haven't seen any reason to and this is just stock. I can only imagine afterwards. I don't think I will overclock like I did my g2. 1, for the sake of the battery, and I don't see how the speed could really improve much

Well, take my word with a pinch of salt as I don't have a Sensation. But on my Desire HD with Sense 3 rom(768mb of RAM too),RAM is always less than 200mb free.No lagging there too,but after some use and some 100 apps installed,I think it would show.
i currently have a vision
but im dying either for the sensation or the evo 3d, do any of you hapen to know if theres gonna be a 850mhz version of one of these 2 beauties?
. Just because 100 apps are installed, doesn't necessarily mean they are all eating ram. I do however understand what you are saying. I guess only time will show as I've only had it for two and a half weeks now. I think that extra core will kick in then. From my knowledge, the sg2 has a processor where both cores are on at all times where as the sensation's cores can run independently of each other. I think that will lead to better battery optimization. Maybe the lag, if any one experiences any, is when that second core is kicking in. I haven't had this happen to me, but to comment on the topic in case anyone is switching, my advice would be to absolutely grab that sensation. But keep your g2 if you can cause it was indeed a great successor to the first ever android.

I have a desire but plan to get the sensation next week. I have been following the threads on here and there seems to be a lot of issues:
3 types of screen some good some bad,
Poor build quality, creaking handset,
Data issues, cutting off,
WiFi issues, cutting off during screen off,
Sense keeps rebooting.
Would you advise anyone to get the sensation?

I've recently upgraded to an unlocked Sensation on Orange from an HD2 and just love it; it doesn't freeze, creak, get hot, reboot, leak light or have a grainy screen. It just sits there, urging me to play with it and enjoy it, like a kid in a toy shop.
All I've done is play games, download music and silly Apps and I've even managed to read some threads here and download the Terminal Emulator to find out which screen I have.
I really enjoyed the HD2 and now have that for work as they supply some postage stamp sized Nokia thing and at 48, I can't see the blighter!
For me, the Sensation was the right move and I hope to enjoy it for many months to come. My son has the DHD and he's sniffing round mine, with his roms and talk of bootloaders!!! He can bog off and buy his own!
I upgraded to the sensation a few weeks ago from the Desire and to be honest the only thing that is better on the Desire than this is having root and s-off. Go for it

Yes.
Asked a similar question in the [Q] forum. Just picked one up.
After hearing approval from my N1 brothers, I concur.
Its worth it.
I read the complain threads here on xda and most of the time the issues are not as bad as the posters make them out to be. I have an Incredible S right now and before that a Nexus One. The Nexus One got so many complaints, but after I brought the phone it ended up being one of the best phones I owned. Same with the Incredible S. As for the Sensation I'll probably get one this summer.

Yes it's worth it for me! Upgraded from an HTC Wildifre so it's pretty much night and day with the Sensation!
Internal hardware wise the SGS2 are better but OS software implementation Sensation are the best plus the higher resolution support are way good for videos on Sensation, I recommend the sensation over SGS2 anytime. I gave u 1 example on just the lockscreen, with SGS2 u have to drag the whole page right to the top just to unlock it and that is irritating enough for me but with the sensation it unlocks the screen just with a bit slide. So it is still up to u again on what to buy in the end. U have to try it both before u buy any.....goodluck

Jasand the phone is bound to have a few glitches with software which HTC will fix in firmware updates the only glitch I have is the free RAM which is always around 129mb despite the phone having loads built in ... But I have run a few things at once and not had a slow down just use the built in task manager if your worried but to be honest android does a good job at managing background stuff for you
The only other issue is battery just use juice defender
What I would do however is buy from somewhere reputable as a few of us including me have had faulty handsets (hot battery and I mean HOT)
Good luck in your quest

I hope Costco has a sensation sale soon I wanna get one
So there's a guy who will give me a new sealed G2X and $100 for my sensation now I had the g2x before and before it got the ota 2.3.3 but the only reason i would be reason I would be trading is for the pure speed of the g2x because let's be real our sensation is slow I mean I have full s-off and custom ROM with no sense and my quadrant still blows Mabey 1800 to 2100 how is that ? Please tell me thats not for long and its only because the roms suck right now on the sensation? I have the G2X and no it doesn't blow the Sensation out of the water. First off, before I removed Sense, the Sensation has always opened apps and interacted with apps faster than the G2X. It also loads Google Maps faster as you scroll through the map. Browsing has always been smoother while scrolling through the pages and the two games I play the most, run smoother on the Sensation. Really the only thing the G2X was faster at was the UI but now that I am using ADW with Sense removed, my Sensation us as fast as my G2X. If you want, I can show you a video of how fast my Sensation is.
I care more about real life experience rather than what some beanchmark is telling me. Quite frankly, I don't even believe most of these benchmarks as I don't think there using our asynchronous processor correctly.

Lol, take it from me. DO NOT GET THE G2x. Even Tmobile and LG are trying to wash their hands off it right now. If it does get an update or the so called update in few weeks, it will most likely be the last. I seriously doubt they will be able to fix ALL the problems. I was lucky enough to get exchange my G2x for Sensation and so far it has worked right. The one thing that didn't work for me and i needed was BT A2DP. The random reboot i could deal with but imagine you are talking to someone and bam, your phone is rebooting. You wake up the the sound of your phone rebooting .... Please read up on the G2x forum and don't say we didn't warn you.
PS: Make sure if you do get it that the 14days grace period is valid and go from there.

I'v been using the galaxy s2 since propably a week after it came out..and I can say this phones is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!
I hardly get the random reboots ever. And currently there are a lot of updates.
And in terms of specs im sure the galaxy s2 is better as it has more ram, alot more storage and the exynos chipset is also faster. It also has super amoled plus.. or are you after the tegra version?? :l I suggest i9100

The only thing u would use the LG G2x for is a shim for my wobbly patio table.
Sensation 100% man. Maybe the only thing u wanna do is flash a ROM without sense 3.0 and Ur good

i just came from the g2x and i wouldnt go back too many problems you have to mod that phone heavily to make everything work, the only problem i have now with my sensation i got today is the video camera? does any mode record in 30fps cause its not working on mine
Besides the software problems have you seen the chin on that phone? I think it might be bigger than the chin on my face.
Keep your sensation

It should record 1080p at 30fps in well lit situations. Doesn't do so well in situations with no light.
I'm definitely disappointed with the sensation 4g. It lags a lot in my opinion. While sense is a beautiful UI, it is just to heavy. I bought this phone off contract ( 549.99 Plus tax) thinking this would be it. The fast phone that I have been waiting for and I swore to myself to not buy another samsung phone but looks like I'm gonna get the Hercules or whatever galaxy s 2 is coming to tmobile. At the end of the day you have to see what's best for you. I honnestly do not care about the ahs display, its very nice don't get me wrong, but I rather have the wvga phone that is just smoother on a day to day basis. Iam almost certain that a lot of people are a bit disappointed with the sensation. The truth is it underwhelms. Come on 1.2 GHz dual core and it lags?
It lags? Haven't noticed it really. Been using Leedroid since day one (yesterday) and adw launcher.
The o2x is a disappointment like all lg phones. They should just stick to something they are good at like televisions.
On paper it's great but software is trash.

Still BOSS 8)
Rock solid,
Beautiful screen
Great sounds
Does everything
Rooted
Running CM9
Very smooth and fast.
Makes the iPhones look positively dinosauric
Absolutely no need to upgrade either.
ADORE
A very nice posting from my brick
Totally agree
Have no plans on changing my Sensation this year, as it does everything i need.
All these 2012 Smartphones don't really offer anything that makes me want to change.
Had mine for 3 months now and looks like I made the right decision absolutely love it look forward to many more months of awesomeness from this phone

Yes.
YouTube is a bit choppy,
But that's it really ....

Love the phone! Had a iPhone a few weeks when my sensation was on service (dust inside the display, got a brand new display for free )
After using a laggy iphone, I realized how much i love the sensation.
It's a sensation... Easy as that.
Same here. My Sensation is 6 1/2 months old, it has no scratches and still looks and feels like on the first day. It's an awesome phone, but the ability to run CM9 makes it still more awesome
I am also running CM9 and got it clocked at 1ghz and hahaha even at this speed is super smooth.
I am really glad that we got CM9, it would be hard to get a phone that doesn't get CM9 support to be honest because these companies overlays are full of bloatware and drain battery super quickly.
The real problem with HTC phones is Sense. I got to have it at like 1.7 to be smooth but then the battery sucks really bad. Then if I clock down to about 1.2 which is when I notice a battery difference, it's all choppy and stuttery.
Just yesterday I played with an HTC One S and I don't really envy anything about it.
And I too feel the same way as a previous poster and that is that I don't feel the need to upgrade.
CM9 + Sensation= Fast, Smooth, Great battery life.

Go to the Android development section, the thread is called Open Sensation. Should be on either the first or second page.
Your phone needs to be rooted and S-OFF, and you need to have the ICS firmware. Flash through recovery after complete wipe, and enjoy.
