[Q]Reinstall Samsung Stock Weather Widget? - Verizon Droid Charge

How can I reinstall the Stock Weather Widget? I thought I saw a deodexed SW package for the charge here somewhere. Would I just need to drag the deodex and APK to the SD card?
Running Gummy and imnuts Kernel currently. Thanks in advance.

It may not be that easy, depending on what ROM you are running you may need the Samsung app that manages their widgets and you then could likely use the deodexed version of the weather widget.
The hard part is we don't have a key or legend to work from if we what the file names equaled we could figure it out.

I'm not sure what the answer is either, but I had always thought that the stock weather widget was some weatherbug widget?
In any case, you should check out Beautiful Widgets. It costs a bit, but it has great weather and clock widgets as well as skinning features.

[Widgets] Weather

So HTC came down on Weather Widgets for looking too much like the original HTC flip clock, and have since released an update that removes said clock, or at least changes the graphics.
Now, I want to flash cyanogens latest, but I don't want to lose my favorite clock widget. I have backed it up using Titanium Backup, is that enough?
I'm an Android newbie and I've never flashed/wiped a device before so I have no idea what Titanium really does, but I assume I can install all programs directly from Titanium/SD Card after Flash, without having to worry about losing my flip clock?
Thanks everyone!
In order to save the HTC style clock widget just back up the folder "prettyweather-googlecode-com" thats where Weather Widgets stores it's skins. Then just put it back on after you flash CyanogenMod.

Thanks for the quick reply!
That folder is stored on my SD card, flashing a mod doesn't affect the SD card does it? So I should be safe?
Absolutely, I just flashed Cyanogen and my flip clock is fine (I also use Weather Widgets.) When you flash a ROM it won't erase anything on your SD card.
Beautiful! Thanks for the help

That's just your opinion and one with which I disagree.
When I had the old version of weather widget I downloaded the default skin with the skin downloader just so I could switch back to it when I was trying a load of others out. If you have that, it works on the new version (or PM me and I might be able to help )

Now with skin support.
The htc clock is still in the skin downloader, its just called h7c now and isn't the default

can you help me on this. I've downloaded weather widgets from the market but everytime i put it on my home screen i just see the weather and temp readings. i go to the settings and downloaded some skins like the h7c coz i really like the flip clock (htc style) but then the clock preferences is greyed out. im coming from htc hero and i really like the clock with weather integrated and i want this also in my nexus even if it is just an imitation but i don't know how. Am i missing something?
Hi Guys,
sorry for resurrecting such an old post, but has anybody the .apk for Weather Widgets (yr.no)? I can't find it on the Market (it was still there a few weeks ago). It was the only app which got my hometown correctly.
I'm talking about this one: http://www.androidzoom.com/android_applications/news_and_weather/weather-widgets_ljka.html

[REQUEST] HTC Desire weather widget

I love the WIPER effect of the weather widget of the Desire ROM. Is there a way to push the widget into a CM ROM ?
P_
i dont think so, but there is Beautiful widgets and weather widgets on the app market. they have htc skins.
Get the Flip Clock with Weather app (called Weather Widget) from the market and it looks like the HTC Weather/Clock widget and when you click on the Weather display, if it is raining it does the whole raindrops with wiper and all that stuff.
Worth getting the donate version.
Both apps don't do anything automatically though you have to click them. Stock home doesn't support animated widgets yet.
I hope it could be in Cyanogen... I love sun animation when I unlock the screen
Any updates on this? I see that the camera has been ported over so Im sure this can be ported over!

I don't believe it's possible to port over the HTC weather widget because it requires the Rosie framework (which is unique to HTC).
Beautiful Widgets had been making good progress on this up until December of last year when they received a C&D letter from HTC. So now any design/revision has to be approved by HTC first. Unless a developer here is willing to undertake this task don't really see something identical to Sense coming to fore.

Oh well, in the mean time I DL the donate version and very satisfy with it =)
I was using beautiful weather but recently switched to Weather Widget... it's much cleaner nicer looking and I like how you can bind the clicks to the regular clock and the 2.1 weather app... not sure if u can do that on the beautiful one too or not but config and everything else is just nicer on weather widget... well worth the $$.
Not sure if this is a port or a complete code-from-scratch but either way it looks very much like the htc weather/clock.
You can also try doing a search for Beautiful widget 2.35. This was the last version before HTC made the developer change it.

REQUEST: HTC Clock APP

is it possible to port over the clock app from desire ROMs?
or does that also need sense ui?

You talking about the Flip Clock and Weather?
If so, there are plenty of alternative apps on the market for free that you can use that allow you to have the features and skin it as well.
Beautiful Widgets
Flip Clock
and more... (those are just the 2 I have)

i am currently using the virtuous 2.5 rom and have been trying out skyraider vanilla and wanna switch to it except i cant seem to give up the clock widget. is there anyway to get it on the other roms? i prefer other roms to the stock sense i just cant get over the clock as weird as that sounds.

No not weird at all. I'm the same way. At last some one that understands. I've been using Beautiful Widgets very similar. Not the clock and weather toggle. I bought that and it wasn't quite up to par. No raindrops on the glass or clouds and thunder. Beautiful Widgets was worth the money though. I was going to check this Digital Clock out too. Just haven't yet. If you try it let me know how you like it.

The sense widgets REQUIRE sense framework and the rosie launcher.
There was an app that was pulled from the market called 'Fancy Widget'. All I will say is that it was pulled via C&D by HTC themselves for being 'too similar' to the proprietary clock widget you are looking for.
"Fancy Widget" Google is your friend.

Yeah Fancy Widget is the one run by the Weather and Toggle app you have to buy to make it run. Not really what the sense clock is like. I liked the Beautiful Widgets way better. You can play with different skins till you find one that suits you and the Boca weather skin is just like the sense weather.
Actually. That is not correct. Fancy Widget is different and you can Google it. I use it because you can set if to update more frequently. If the stock app updated every 30 minutes like you can set Fancy Widget to do I would still be using it...
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
what about other HTC widgets? I would love to use LauncherPro but I have to have the HTC Photo Album widget to show off my new baby girl. I know there are other photo widgets and I have tried almost all of them but none can compare to the HTC. Please help I am sick of using the rest of Sense....
Every HTC specific widget cannot be run on any Launcher except Rosie and cannot be ported without making an exact replica with the same images like Fancy Widget. People need to realize this and stop asking.
There is a separate Widget named Fancy Widget, it was pulled from the Market, because... IT IS EXACTLY the same as HTC clock, they literally copied the images. It is wonderful, a little more flexible, and can be setup to check more often, and launch whichever clock and weather app you choose when you touch.... Only thing it does not do is animations. Google "Fancy Widget apk" and really look as stated prior if you want the HTC clock...
If you want something attractive, slightly different, and still free check out
Weather Widgets (yr.no) http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.ermesjo.yr I switch between this and Fancy Widget based on how I am feeling lol
As for anyone missing other HTC widgets... support Launcher Pro and purchase Launcher Pro Plus, the widgets are very comparable... and the guy has written a wonderful piece of software... so pay the 2.99!!
I just downloaded Fancy Widget 1.3 and it is basically the same exact thing as the HTC Sense Clock widget but it allows you to configure what application it launches when you hit the weather icon, date or time. I just installed it and haven't seen if it does the weather animations but I could care less about that.

yep its an absolutely an AMAZING piece of apps. love it except for the fact the weather doesnt update correctly or on time. even though i set it update every hour
yesterday it was p***ing it down in brum, but it says it was 23c and clear
the forecast weather doesnt change in the morning, it takes up to two hours to change. if i want it to change i have to enter my location again
if it have an refresh button or something it would be perfect
