Looks sweet. Downloading right now.
ty. ive been waiting to check this one out. reminds me of mass effect...loved that game.
Absolutely amazing. This is what I was expecting of tetra. Beautiful graphics and seems like a real game. Set the graphics to high and its still silky smooth, but I am overclocked to 1.6

How much can you play before having to pay 15 bucks to get the full game?

I get the feeling we are being drawn into it and then asked for cash. Looks like a nice game on the TF screen. I had assumed this was a multiplayer online game to start off with. Feels a bit like Dark Prophecy.

SPACE ADVENTURE WITHOUT RISK
The current reference title in the Sci-Fi genre is available free to download from the Tegra™ Zone app on the Android Market and can be played for unlimited time offering full functionality within the first solar system. To access the whole galaxy with over 20 solar systems and to complete the six to ten hours, fully voice acted storyline, you have to unlock the game via in-app purchase for $ 14.99 / € 11,99 / £ 8.99.
Edit: Updated OP post for "1 solar"
Is it me or does it run kinda bad? (medium details).
I'm running the game on the highest settings and it plays perfectly. Played for about an hour and really like it. Will consider getting the full game if it continues to be compelling.

Overclocked or stock?
Im getting huge framedrops on high , even on medium. 3.1 Stock
Everything stock and running it on High. Very smooth and I'm very impressed. It is rather pricey though.

+1 stock here and nice and smooth on high settings
Good looking game and like above running fine on high (I'm @ 1.6Ghz tho) - At work so haven't had a proper play but will do over the weekend.
Wow, thanks for posting. Maybe making a sticky/corner for quality apps that are free?
Hello,
I've installed it too on a stock "non-overclocked" TF.
It works very nice in full details.
I also tried it some weeks ago on an iPad.
Graphics were quite "old-fashioned" on the iPad.
I'm pretty impressed to see bumped textures, etc...
Great.
done ....was waiting for it
damn, what makes this worth $5 more than the ipad version?

I guess i am done with the free part. I play on all high on g2x. runs perfect. but how do i get back in the first solar system?
I think it's awesome, and I don't think the price is unfair considering I would pay a quid or 2 for games normally, whereas this has awesome graphics and a lot of gameplay and clearly would have taken a lot more time/money to develop than the average game. As such I'm gonna pay for it, it's my kind of game
Just to warn people though, if you want to try it out for a decent amount of time then just do freelance missions and stuff, it turns out that if you follow the story mode then you end up in another solar system pretty soon and you can't get back to the first (which you can play for free), then you can't do anything unless you pay.
anyone have trouble launching the game I finished downloading the assests on my eeepad and now i just get a black screen when i launch
EDIT: Uninstall and deleted SD Card game assets and reinstall fixed my problem.

Hi,
I just want you to take a look at this game.
In this game you have your own game company. You have to develop games (you say which genre, type and name).
The graphics.... Okay forget the graphics, however, this is a great game!!!
The app costs 2 Yang (or what ever), but in the market is a lite version.
BE WARNED: It's a highly addictive game!!!
I played this game for a solid 8 hours straight one night on my iPhone. Glad to see an Android version now!
Yeah the game is super awesome.
yeah.. gets boring after a week
It's a cool game for a day or too, then gets too repetitive. Still I play it from time to time. If they add more features that would give the game a better replay value.
Highly addictive and unique gameplay I would say but it gets boring after the first cycle.

This game is awesome. Love the 8-bit graphics! I've developed 3 consoles now, and i got over 2 billion dollars in the bank.
I was hooked on the demo so bought the full game for my wildfire.
The full app doesnt work properly - I cannot see the top bit of the screen (ie the amount of money I have, yet the demo doesnt have this issue).
Any ideas guys?

Full-version bug reports:
1. Amount deducted for payroll is off by a factor of 10. (The popup says 1100 will be deducted, then only 110 is..) I think it might be off in one or two other places like this, too.
2. Something new I did recently output the term "null" at the beginning of a line of text in the popup. I think it was using the Bug Spray when I didn't have very many bugs, but I don't remember for sure.
'Tis quite a great game, though I do have a question:
When a game goes on the market, and the blue bars show up, what does that area mean? Each bar is a week, I get that, but what is the relative height - sales? Then what's the green box overlayed on it?

Got 2 more:
3) When allocating points to a new game, if the number of "free" points goes above 9, there's an extra 1 prepended to the number (so 10 becomes 110, etc)
4) The cost to move to a new place is another off-by-ten: The popup asked me if I wanted to pay 25,000 to move to a new studio, but I only had 7,000. Taking a guess, I selected yes, and the move only cost me 2,500.
And another: "Congratulations! <Game> has sold 500k units!" when the actual number in the status bar is 5,000k. All the congratulations messages of this type are the actual number divided by 10.
This game ROCKS!!!!! Highly addictive.
Although I lost my autosave after 24 years due to my 4 year old son not knowing what he was doing. :-S
So have started a fresh game. :-D
Hi guys. I finally managed to get EW's ads out of the way; now these two games are pretty much the same. The only differences are that DH3:
- has better graphics
- has 4 classes instead of 2
- is a little more varied in terms of objectives
- has better controls, most notably has double analog controls like age of zombies
- has a mage class that can physically hit and doesn't use mana for EVERYTHING, forcing you to purchase super-costly mana potions. I don't know if you can equip multiple spells yet, as spells are way too expensive of course ¬¬
- is a freakin memory hog. Like 20 mb on internal storage.
Listing these pros makes me wanna play it instead of EW, but the memory thing is quite relevant if you think about it. EW uses like nothing.
What do you guys think? Also, the freemium thing is quite annoying, but maybe one is "less freemium" than the other. I think I'll usually just play DH2 instead as it maybe is the best actual RPG on the play besides psx diablo. But you know, when you have 5 spare mins at school you wanna have a game like this.
So what's DH?

Dungeon Hunter.
For me... the 20MB hog automatically biases me towards Eternity Warriors. That aside, EW gets pretty damn addictive after the first 10 waves. OP, you'd be wise to check out DH2. It's awesome... DH3... not so much.
You always get everything straight, i like that
I already play DH2 and it's awesome, I think it's even better than Diablo on psx. I just wanted a game like this for short bursts, and I may follow your advice on EW. But when I play the mage I always end up running around, doing stuff waiting for mana to recharge and then kill more monsters, repeat. Maybe things would change if I played the warrior :\
But then again, DH2 also works for 5 mins games.
Dh3 is more of a freemium survival hame. Whereas the previous DHs were rpgs....just deoends on what you like I guess
Sent from my R800x using XDA
I know, I was actually putting DH3 vs EW. I uninstalled DH3 anyway, that was just too much heavy. I now noticed Dink Smallwood can be played with gamekeyboard; gotta try that out, but I still think DH2 is better
I recently found OnLive, a cloud based gaming app that is on multiple platforms, including android. At the moment, they have titles such as Assasins Creed II and Brotherhood, SplinterCell Conviction, Homefront, and many others. Their volume isnt as big as Valve's Steam, but it has been recognized by the Steam community.
Some basic pros:
-No need to download your games, their on the cloud.
-Their game selection is expanding.
-You can play a demo before you buy.
-No fee for having an account, but there is one for a membership.
-Analogs are compatible on the PLAY.
Some cons:
-You cant play offline.
-You have too keep up with your bills to play.
-No mods in games.
-Less variety of games compared to steam (which doesnt support android).
-Games are about retail price moat of the time.
- A lot of data is used streaming your game.
when i last used used it, it was very slow and lagging all the time on my wifi broadband (30Mb)
I've no problems with it. I've only 2,5 meg broadband. Sometimes it's pixelised a little but work like a charm.

What? OnLive is out for like 6 months, XDA members went over it. Yes, it's as good as it was before.

It work's great for me. I only do the demos because the majority of the games I own on Xbox and I can't afford to pay twice for a game. I use it for a cool factor to show console games on a phone that no one has heard of at the parties I throw.

I love using onlive, one because its all cloud gaming...so I can play most of my games on my pc and then if I'm going somewhere and it has wifi (I rarely use my data *only 2 gb.a month*) then I can continue where I left off....or if I'm planning iny from.my pc to my laptop.
The only thing I dislike about the Play and onlive is the lack of L3 and R3 physical buttons OR touch screen buttons, and for most of my games, like Dues ex and AvP, it gets hard to play....but the play is Awesome for.Assassins creed games, (I've got 2 and brotherhood) and orcs must die....I think the only mistake I've made is buying dawn of war 2 when i first found onlive 3 months ago...
But the advantage is that you can always find other players for multiplayer games ( Homefront ftw, even though I don't have it, I'm.waiting for somekind of sale where it will be at or below $10....which is when I have bought my games lol)

It drove me to buy the OnLive console(which kicks ass), but on Xperia Play I'd always thought it suffered from input lag.
Recently upgraded our router to something newer/more oriented towards gaming and now the input lag is drastically decreased; it's actually quite practical now! What I also like is that I don't always have to be confined to WiFi. In places where I have a good HSPA+ connection, I can play without being bound to a router! It's no replacement for having games that can be played without an active internet connection, but being able to play full-blown Assassin's Creed games and the REAL Street Fighter IV:AE make this quite a winner for me.
My one persisting qualm is the L2/L3/R2/R3. There is absolutely no L3/R3 whatsoever, and L2/R2 takes over the volume buttons. What they really need to do is just have L2/L3/R2/R3 as virtual touch buttons near the bottom of the screen.
If you get it, check out a lesser-known game called A.R.E.S.: Extinction Agenda. Amazing game!

Yeah, I agree with you on the R and L 3 buttons. I wish for some games though that we had the ability to flip the l2 l, r2, and the l1and r1 buttons/triggers around.....I sent onlive an email about that at the end of march and they said they would look into it.

Works great for me.
BUT:
- A lot of games are too dark.
- A lot of games are unsuitable for the Play's buttons. ie. they need more.
- A lot of games don't suit a small screen. For example, the ball in Virtua Tennis is tiny & moves too fast for small, handheld gaming.
The controls suck basically, mainly because of the lack of l2, r2, l3, r3. The touchpads are also quite crap for these games :/

from the preview I saw, it definitely beats gamelofts 2.5d ds-ish port. Yes, I bought a console hit for my former DS, and regretted it again after getting CoD4, so horrible.
So the general theme is thatyou have to have fairly good Wi-Fi to enjoy w/o lag. Also, is it true that OnLive's servers go down from time to time, I've heard things like this on other forums and want to confirm whether or not it is common. I want to try i .t, but I want to know that it is convenient before I attach my identity to anything else and forget.

I've only ever disconnected from onlive when my internet has effed up....you have to have a marginally good wifi to have it look good, but onlive normally tells you first if you have connection issues. And you can.use aCC or DC to buy a game and then delete the card off your account, so nothing is permanent.

OnLive : input lag
Persistent Input Lag
*my internet speed is 105mpbs/10mpbs
*have tried 3 wireless N routers (no channels overlapping)
-playing Street Fighter is grueling
-playing Batman is ok.
=I really wish it worked without the lag.
{EDIT} as a top edit I'd like to remind people that your connection no matter how fast will still create input lag in your games. That's a server issue cause by how the data / input is sent and received. If you want more info on it, check into NVIDIA and GAI KAI. Gai Kai has better visuals but the frame rate for some reason takes a dive...
{/EDIT}
I've used the system since August, and I'm a happy customer!
At first the visuals were very muddy looking (arkham city looked really bad) but after the following update the devs must have changed something because the colors are more vibrant.
The control lag is passable, even when playing some pretty intense games. I have split second on there (and the play pack) and I've gotten numerous 1st place trophies once I got used to the latency. It's not bad at all it's just not perfect because it's not 1:1 (it's really close though).
When I got it in august of last year I thought to myself "boy I wish this had xperia play support" and what to my surprise not a week later I didn't have to use the game keyboard lol
Here's my pros and cons in a TLR
PRO's
-you're playing PC-quality games on your phone
-full Xperia Play optimized (even the volume buttons count as the shoulder buttons though it is a little awkward)
-hundreds of games to choose from and recent ones
-the price point of some games is astounding. I got a few games for only $2 you just need to look at sales frequently.
-graphics have improved dramatically since I've used the service
-the lag in controls is passable (more in CON's)
-you can view other people playing the game and there's a FREE 30 min trial with almost every game
-did I mention it's PC games on your phone?
CON's
-you can't play any 2k games on the phone right now (no bioshock, borderlands)
-the lag in FPS's is tough. Even games like splinter cell where you have to aim your gun in a tight spot it's tricky. Possible but it's a pain when it's not 1:1. I couldn't even play FEAR 2 or 3 it was death up the butt
-battery drain LOL
right there's really not many bad things about it. However the release date for the games varies though Batman: AC came out pretty soon after it's actual release.
Also Wifi and LTE are preferred and I didn't put it as a con because for me I can play on 3G as well. It's fast enough in my area, I'd use speed test to see if it is fast in your area. If you're speed test can consistently hold around 150+ KBps then you're golden.
Borderlands is on onlive lol...
The assassin's creed games are perfect for the play. Only con I have is lack of l3 and r3 buttons, even on the screen would be fine.

Mame/Neo/Cps Emulators are great but where is the challange. I like and brought these official ports (metal slug too) for 2 reasons. 1) Bluetooth multiplayer 2) a limit on credits. Where is the challange if you can keep shoving fake credits in, it makes these games too easy because you have no real death. Its like cheating and there is no point in that when you are only cheating yourself out of a good game. With metal slug on Emulator i completed in a hour (fun over). On the official port not even half way in and been playing hours worth. At least with emulators like Snes and PSX you have limits as its built in to the game (Saves states are also bad but still mean you have to get past the place your stuck on dying). I am happy to recommend these ports over the emulated way
Original MVS cartridge are 'free play' at will anyway, but you are right about arcade, nothing can beat the 1coin challenge and bt coop option is the best.
My previous bought of metal slug for android was a disapointment, few option, gallery mode, slowness this one seems better optimized. I think save state is a bless to train yourself in the hardest level without crawling again the whole intro + much more freedom to simply save your progress.
My fingers thank autofire as well. I found vsFighters a bit more difficult compare to the arcade because of the controller, xplay paddle is tiny and snk special moves can be tricky.
I'm not sure if I'm the only one who still keeps the three dot bar for the normal functionality of some games (I'm looking at you, gameloft), I'm sure we all appreciate games that are actually designed to fill our full screen. So here we go!
Here's my list:
Air Attack hd
Dark Nebula
Dead Trigger (quitting now...it's getting ridiculous as game progresses...I miss the good old days in shadowgun)
Drift Mania (actually very entertaining...once you get used to it)
Dungeon Hunter 2
ME Infiltrator (heavy load on the gpu though...heating like crazy sometimes)
Real Racing 2 (graphic is a little rough on some curves...and the menu is not smooth for some reason...but the actual gameplay is buttery smooth)
Reckless Racing HD (all time favourites)
Temple Run
World Of Goo
Zen Bound
Riptide GP (needs a little more gpu juice to keep the frame rate steady sometimes)
This list will be constantly updated, and general game discussions (just anything about games on our devices) are welcomed.
p.s. any testers on the Asphalt 7 yet? Are we getting the ****ty graphics for lower devices AGAIN? (is the 3 dot bar there again? how is the surface reflection of vehicles?)
p.s. 2 GIVE US NOVA 3 GAMELOFT! AND LET THE ADRENO 225 DO ITS JOB!
p.s. 3 (would be nice to have one in my next 4 years in a hell-like program...oh, did I go off topic?:silly
I have asphalt running on h8's latest CM9. The vehicles look very good and there aren't any FPS drops in any game mode. I'm about half way through the game and it's been flawless. I can't reply in reference to the 3 dot bar, because again I have been running it on CM9. But don't hesitate to buy this game! It's only 99 cents and runs great. Some of the tracks are recycled from Asphalt 6 but the graphics are much better.

I actually own the game on IPAD 2 and is hesitating to give it a try on my one xl......for some reason I just can't accept the current IAP business module used by gameloft......reminds me of spoiled Chinese online games....which they don't charge for hours you play but changes the drop/success rate of anything and make players buy equip and even the f**king avatar hairstyle with ¥¥¥
Yeah I also own the game on my iPad but I carry my HOX with me more often and it's a lot easier to access. I also feel like the screen on my HOX is superior and I want to take advantage of it. I've also been playing some Final Fantasy on it which is an excellent game, but doesn't really utilize the nice GPU. Check out AstroWings3. Pretty awesome retro style game. It's a basic flying shooter game but it's fun. Helps me pass time at work when it gets slow!
Idk how but I've been playing nova 3 for some time now. It's awesome.

Why not just map menu to the recents key? Gets rid of the overflow menu and all games become full screen.

Not for me it doesnt. Zero issues with any game. That's with the flashable mod from 1.85 or the HTC implemented remap from the latest OTA. I haven't seen the menu overflow for months.
