Poweramp question or music player

Really dumb question reguarding poweramp music player.
Is it the best?
Will upgrading the voodoo app make it sound better?
How do u put music on it, or whats the best way to put ur itunes on it?
Currently running humble 1.25 and I cant figure out how to put music on it lol

Since, I'm not quite sure which step you are stuck at I will start from as much of the beginning as I can...
Music is as simple as mounting your SD card and dragging and dropping music you want...put it in a folder called Music.
If you want to send playlists, there a bunch of desktop players that will sync with android...
The newest one written by the mozilla foundation - MIRO and it integrates with itunes.
doubletwist is another one that is very similiar in layout to itunes (both desktop and android app) and will sync your device.
Winamp will sync wirelessly...
If you have music on your SD card, poweramp has an option to tell it a directory, as well as hide the music (puts a .nomedia file) in the directory so no other scans will look for it (speeding up the sd card scan on boot up)...just go through all the settings.
I personally believe poweramp to be the best player on the market.
I have very little experience with voodoo, and do not feel adequetly knowledgeable to make any sort of intellectual comment on it.

I have folders on my SD card labeled like this:
MUSIC_Rock
MUSIC_Rave
MUSIC_Club
MUSIC_Country
This allows PowerAmp to use these folders as playlists. Works for me.

So from itunes are they already in the right format? I dont have to convert anything, just make folders on the SD card called music and drag them over from the computer?

Cloudskipper is a pretty good music app IMO.

Music and Android?

I think this is the one area Apple beats Android, you connect your iPhone it syncs no hassle, On android its all a bit of a nightmare.
I've tried Double Twist but the damn thing is painfully slow to sync, can't edit duplicates and whatever else, it looks good but thats about it.
Winamp looked good on the surface, I made my playlist went to sync it took forever, then when I added more songs to a particular playlist and went to sync again rather than adding to the original playlist on the phone it created another playlist, so you actually have 2 playlist of the same playlist old and new.
So basically I need a way to sync and a player on the phone. I appreciate you can just dump all your tracks on the music folder but its impossible to organise 1000+ MP3's this way, so they would need organised prior to going onto the phone.
Any advice?

Nothing easier than put the mp3's in the media folder. Why do you think, syncing with ITunes is easier. I hate that software.

Lol same here, mp3tag owns.

Winamp works fine for me; no duplicate playlists. Maybe give that another shot? I love winamp on the PC though, so my perception may be skewed a bit by fanboyism. You could try the Google Music Beta as well. I thought I wouldn't like it, but having my entire 200 GB music library streamable is pretty handy. Personally, I prefer to manually sort and tag my tracks on my PC.

Combo Winamp + mp3tag.
But i do'nt sync with winamp, putting mp3 on the folders is much faster...

i've been using google's music beta service to stream music to me laptop/phone. works great. only issue is the new music app has no controls in the notification center or lockscreen.

I don't understand. Your music app will automatically find your mp3's and categorize them for you. Just put your MP3's anywhere on your SD card and you're done.

Make music folder, drag and drop
I hated how ipods have to sync, like if I go to my friends house want want some songs then delete my songs then put all of his songs grrr iTunes...

Unfortunately and I can't speak about mp3tag, but dragging and dropping at least doesn't compress the audio file to save space at no reduction of quality. Itunes does this, and Itunes really isn't all that hard to use either.
Audio from Apple devices are better quality most times, but multimedia is one of Apple's strong parts.(Although also a lot of times you won't notice a difference) The original music app for Android is okay for just music, HTC's is okay, Miui is pretty nice, and the new music app from Google is pretty nice too. The audio support for Android is getting better.

I originally used doubletwist but it kept doubling, trippling, and even quadrupled the number of times a song was in my library. Finally went to ISYNCR &isyncrwifi. Works great, fast.

It did that to me as well and that's the problem with most of these syncing solutions, there is no common sense.
And as for putting all on 1 folder in the SD card, Now say I want song 3 from album A on a playlist followed by song 6 from Album E and so on there is no easy way of organizing this on the phone which is why I like it done on the PC, I have various genres of music, I don't want a hardcore trance song followed by country.
Google music doesn't work in the UK either

What you are describing here is what I do on "PowerAmp". I have folders (has option for folders or library), then if I want I use the built in "Que" to select songs from different folders. You can also edit tags in PowerAmp.

Wow. And here I thought I was the only one who uses mp3tag.

iTunes

Anyone know the best way to sync my nexus with iTunes? I've tried double twist and I don't like it as much.

I don't use iTunes, but I hear iSyncr is pretty good.

Winamp should do the trick.

On your PC:
Get the Google Music Manager program (.exe) from Google
Install it to your Windows PC
Set it up and select the option that allows Google Music to sync automatically from itunes.
On your phone:
Download Google Music app and select your gmail account.
After initial sync is finished everything in your itunes will be in the Google Music app.
They will stay synced after that.

I use iTunes agent. It does the trick.

If I use google music I won't have any issues with some of my songs not being on my phone or not being able to play if I'm not in a good data spot will I? I did some research it looks like its a good way to go about I don't have a good media library I didn't wanna sacrific all my phones memory to all music but if I had to I am willing to.

I use isyncr and it works really well it cost a few dollars but good investment and the wifi plugin is a big plus

Just saying Amazon is usually cheaper than the for-mentioned excel spreadsheet music store

If you are on a mac try this one Easy Phone Tunes
Just create a playlist with the music you want to sync, open app, sync DONE

I use iSyncr, tried a few others and once in a while album pictures or info didn't come out the same way they were on iTunes. Gets the job done for me.

Open itunes. Copy all music and drop in music folder on phone.

Does isyncr refresh playlists and remove songs that are not in iTunes library. I hav dragged and dropped in all honesty I like having the playlists from iTunes to I think I'm stuck between Winamp or isyncr.

yea you can set it to delete songs not in the playlist and the playlists do refresh

Right on theres what I've been looking for then. I was excited about google music but it was taking forever to upload my library of only 1535 songs and it'd probably take longer to be on my phone. And I was thinking since its cloud where I don't hav data or lose data the music won't play or it will buffer. That's just what I think anyway

try double twist, I use google music and just sync mine to the cloud using Itunes but if you are really apposed to Itunes thats a really good alternative

Im having a same trouble, but my problem is with all the syn with itunes.
The window says its syncronized but if i look in the phone i dont have nothing :S.

Use google music. It' s hastle free. You have access to your library, as long as, you have a signal, or you can make songs available off line.

Doubletwist alternatives for the android?

What are some apps that are good alternatives to doubletwist? I notice two problems with doubletwist
1. it is always using the external sd card (where my music is) and makes mounting (ie as an external ums/hd) difficult
2. it has trouble differentiating between internal and external sd cards on the galaxy s3 a lot of the time.
I like its interface and the ease with which it syncs. If I could Keep the windows client and switch the android client that would be ideal

Google Play music is good. Realplayer is good too.
For doubletwist features:
Album art downloading
Use MIUI music
For itunes sync
Drag and drop into memory card from itunes

itunemywalkman is also pretty good but i would suggest google music

Dont like powrt amps layout
Will email doubletwist and checkout google music. Does your music have to be stored on drive or sd card?

For syncing with iTunes, iSync is the best by far. Doubletwist is nothing special as a player. Why don't you just use the stock app?

How do you copy music onto an iPhone?

I haven't figured out how to change my username since I decided I like iPhone better than Android.
I want to copy my personal music collection onto my iPhone but when I tried to at the library by connecting the mp3 player and the iPhone to separate USB cables to the Windows computer, it wouldn't let me and later I found out from Apple that there is a restriction where you have to use iTunes. Because I don't have my own computer at home I was wondering if there are any alternatives, and someone at the Apple Store suggested that syncing the mp3s with iTunes may still not allow the playback of the mp3s if they weren't specifically purchased through Apple Music.
So what would be a good alternative way to transfer my music collection onto the iPhone? I tested a web-site in Google Chrome that is a YouTube to mp3 converter called "mp3 juices" that allows you to download audio from YouTube into mp3 files. It worked on iPhone and I was able to import mp3s into a music player app called the Audius Music Player. Since the Audius Music Player works in this way, I suppose I could copy all 12 GB of my music collection onto Google Drive and than download the songs one by one and than import them into the Audius Music Player app but I think this may be rather tedious to click to download on each individual song until I downloaded 12 GB of music. Also the free version of Audius Music Player says it has limits so I don't know if there would be a limitation on the amount of music that can be downloaded.
Would there be a way to save all the music album folders and files into one large zip file and unzip the music files onto the iPhone?
Another suggestion mentioned to me by someone is the VLC media player, but VLC on iPhone requires iTunes to sync the music into VLC media player and so I may want to get away from having to deal with iTunes.

You have to use iTunes. Don't have a computer? Get one. IPhones don't behave like android, it's either iTunes or you don't. They are more locked down.
