i bought the SAMSUNG GALAXY ACE phone 2 weeks ago...
intially my phone did not detect ad-hoc n/w from my laptop..so i used "mhotspot" software(no need to install the software)
after that its ok...i am using wifi internet the problem is solved
but
after a few days, when i tried to switch on wifi...it is showing "error"
so
i tried restarting the phone
but
now
even after restarting the phone,it doesnt work!!!
soo i installed "wifi fixer"....in the notification area
wifi fixer is displaying
"wifi enabled,connected to hotspot,wifi slepin,resetting wifi,reconnecting"
this process goes on....
PS:
please tell me what to do...im in a remote place..cant even go to service centre

Hi all,
I have a Galaxy i9000 and it won't connect to wireless. It used to connect just fine, then one day it stopped working. I ignored it for a while (3G still works) and once I finally got around to trying to see what had happened, I could see that the phone does connect to wireless networks (at home and at work), but once it had authenticated to the network, it would fail at "Obtaining IP address from <network name>". There's no error message, but the phone just sits at that stage forever. Not obtaining an IP address makes it pretty hard to connect to a wireless network
I don't know what happened to make this problem occur, it's been about a month now since it happened. I have AdFree installed on the phone, that writes to the hosts file, right? I suspect that it may have been a hosts file update which had caused this problem, but I'm not sure.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may have caused the problem?

if this doesn't solve the problem then contact a service, or if you have warranty, just send it back...

The funny thing is is have exactly the SAME PROBLEM ... SINCE the same time?!?!
mybe we got some kind of virus for phones? ... altho i do have anti viral software on the phone. and i didnt upload any kind of stuff on it for at least half a year.

I am also experiencing similar wifi issue..except I get pass obtaining ip address it's after that I get error message "authenticate problem".??
My brothers works fine connects within second on home wifi, when I connect on same wifi I get error message..I have tried restoring previous wifi data..I have done phone reset too but nothing works
I did some googling and found brief answers not that helpful..but it was mentioned that frequency range I'm trying to connect is incorrect.

Well after i flashed custom rom (android 4.0.4 -SmoothieICS-v2) i can´t connect to wifi any more. But mobile data works perfectly.
And before flashing custom rom ,wifi worked jsut fine. phone is Galaxy S Plus I9001 .
I have problem connection to my WiFi when I use my device with any GSM network SIM card.
Settings app will keep saying that it is connecting and the connection will never succeed. If I turn-off and turn-on the WiFi for couple of times WiFi may connect again.
The problem won't go away even after removing the SIM card. Doing a factory reset (without the SIM card) will clear this problem (WiFi will connect properly). But If I put the SIM card back, the same problem will come again.
Does any of you face this issue with you p3100 ? (mine is p3100 - India)

Facing the same problem, the wifi stops working after 5-6 mins, then I have to restart my device to get the wifi work again, but again it starts giving no connection error (with SIM or without)

yeah, I've got the same problem while connecting with wi-fi, got around it by simply disconnecting the wi-fi, clearing the saved setting & then searching for the connection again. Have to do this every time.....grrrrr
I had exactly this problem with stock ROM IMM76D.P3100DDBLF3. I do not have it on CM9 RC2.
I am not sure that it has anything to do with GSM.

After rooting my 4.04 stock rom, i noticed this problem. It wouldnt connect while sim card was in. Used this app. Rebooted. Put in the sim card. Rebooted again and voila. It worked for me!!!!

My samusng galaxy duos s7562 cant search any wifi after when i rooted it... wifi turns on and showing "searching" but cant found network.... while my other phone connect without any problem
Some time wifi continuously turns on and off...after reboot i found this fix.
Some time when i restart then it can search networks and then after 2 or 5 minutes all wifi network again disappear...
I factory reset//+ hard reset my phone but this was useless..

i changed ROMs but found no solution..

I have a Samsung Note 2, and it keeps dropping WiFi constantly, and notifies me every time with a notification "Sign into WiFi network" (I don't have to sign into my WiFi network), after 5mins it disconnects by itself with this message"Your Device has been disconnected from this network, your session has timed out". It start to happen like this since yesterday, i didn't change or update anything on my phone. I looked at some Solution on here, but problem is i can't Modify network config( i live in student accommodation) and i don't have access to router. My other phone Sony xperia had the same problem at the beginning, but i press Sign in and google chrome start downloading a file (generate_204.bin) for me then the problem is solved. However, when i press sign in on my Note2, it redirect me to a weird page, and after 5mins it disconnected again

Hey I have been looking for a while on the xda furom for some useful thread and until now i got nowhere so basically I got my galaxy s duos and lately every time I connect to a wifi network it immediately disconnects and a notification apears saying that "network disconnected you need to sign in again" and after I reconnect to the network it says "network is not available the certification is expired what should I do I'm stuck
p.s my phone is running on stock 4.2.2 and it's not rooted yet and I dont know if it helps but my router is d-link n300
