Just wondering if it's possible because they BOTH do what TomTom does and more without having to pay for it. I'm running the Energy Rom, but it didn't include it. When I installed the CAB for NaviPanel it didn't work perfectly. Like for one the icon in the programs menu wasn't right (it was just that white window icon) and 2) it said it couldn't work without the car charger. Dunno if that means that it just needs energy like a power connector, but yeah I also read that there's a fix for this too.
So what's the answer? I know that some people have gotten TomTom and Igo to work, but why not Google Maps or Bing?
bump anyone?
Can't answer how to get TomTom working on the HD2 because I don't have mine yet, but at least one reason why you'd want that, rather than Bing/Google is because the map is data independent. If you're in a rural area and lose your data connection, you're hosed. TomTom will continue to work.
also neither bing or google maps can give you turn by turn navigation.
Google maps does for droid. Is there a version like the droid's for WM6.5?
Google Maps with voice navigation is only for android. One for win mobile is supposed to be coming out...
Bing now has voice turn by turn for users in the U.S, only.
htc navipanel and bing
Now that Bing does offer turn by turn voice navigation in the usa, is someone going to make some tweaks in order to allow the navigation button of navipanel to access bing navigation, in addition it would be nice if footprints also accessed bing navigation as well. Last but not least how about a landscape mode for the bing navigation...

yeah but a lot more people sign up for unlimited data plan than without it.
Anybody manage to get Navipanel working with Google Maps. I have an unlimited data plan and want to use Navipanel with Google Maps.
+1
+1 on the request for bing to work with navipanel
I have been trying out the google maps navigation on my Desire HD but found a few problems.
1 - I find the turn by turn navigation voice unbearable, is it possible to change the voice?
2 - I have been trying to create my own routes (I dont always want to use the route google maps suggests) but cannot find a way to do this on my phone. I can create a route on my computer, save it to "my maps" but there seems to be no way of signing into my google account on my phone maps app. It also doesnt seem possible to edit a route on my phone maps app. Any suggestions?
3 - Is it possible to set the display to night mode?
Thanks for any help...
Hey.
GPS connects instantly, but in Navigation it takes more than 10mins to connect?
I use GPS status app and it connects instantly, but when I open navigation it just says "Searching for gps" for 10mins before it connects and after that it starts working.
Does someone know how to fix it?
Is it just the Navigation app or is it Google maps or any other app? I just use Google Maps because I like the overhead view. I hardly use Navigation because Google Maps follows you on the map and works the way I need it to. I get a pretty fast lock and all is well when I used it. I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.
I do know that Navigation, in the later versions, tries to download the entire route to the phone in case you lose your data connection. Perhaps this is causing the delay (slow data connection on the go).
I have the following stick installed in my car...
http://www.amazon.co.uk/JUSTOP-Andr...&qid=1420831283&sr=8-4&keywords=android+stick
Everything works beautifully except that I don't get voice prompts on maps or waze. The navigation works fine but on maps I only get the odd turn prompt which always cuts off but normally get nothing and on waze I get no sounds at all. I have tried another nav app (navier hud) and all the voice prompts are fine.
Any ideas?
Anyone!?
I have just purchased and installed an Android 9.0 Navigation / DVD head unit for my 2010 Toyota Camry. The system is very snappy and came pre-loaded with many useful programs; one of which is the iGO navigation app. Another app on there I was glad to have is Google Maps. After the completion of the installation, I road tested the navigation software and found out the iGO navigation app worked very well. I then tried the pre-installed Google Maps to navigate; it was able to track the GPS receiver to pinpoint my location right away; however, Google Maps attempts to re-route continuously (like every 5 seconds or so) as I drive towards the destination. I'm not able to stop it from doing this; it's so frustrating and is unusable as a navigator.
Does any forum member have a clue to what is happening to my head unit? I thought I might've been able to get away with just using the Google offline maps, but I suppose an active mobile data connection is required? Thank you.
