Tips and Tricks - T-Mobile LG G2x

Got any cool tricks you've discovered with your phone? Post them here.
To start with I just learned that with the Gingerbread keyboard on Ultimate G2X rom if you slide up on the space bar it reveals 4 arrow keys for positioning the cursor. Slide the spacebar back down to hide them again.

Here's a screeshot. Forgot to add it to the original post:

may not be a revelation to many folks but
screen shot anytime with the home and power keys pressed simultaneously
while finger is pressed dragging it above the upper most touch keyboard reveals another row of keys, number keys. saves me time from switching typing mode to numbers if I've only gotta stick a number or two in my messages when texting

Another one I found recently is with the LG camera app. If you press and hold the shutter button the camera will focus, and then when you release the button it will take the photo. Makes it easier to capture the photo I want by holding the focus like that and then waiting for the right moment to release it.

Problem setting keys in Mobipocket Reader (or another reader?)

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to set the keys in the mobireader and I am faced with this screen:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
However, when I press any one of the "soft buttons" (home, hang up, up/down etc) it instead does the actual action. I am a bit of a newcomer to the windows mobile world so I might misunderstand the meaning.
What do you think? Can anyone suggest a different reader?
As long as I am using MobiPocket,I was never able to set any button to start autoscroll while in fullscreen. I just don't use fullscreen and I have speedbutton for autoscroll on the toolbar. But I have tried something right now and I was succeed with using the zero key on the keyboard for autoscrolling while in fullscreen done with action button... I thing,that should be enough You need.
Nah, opening the keyboard seems too much a mess. I thinnk I'll settle for using the toolbar like you do. Thanks for the help
Something else regarding Mobipocket
I notice that in autoscroll mode it still shows the space between "pages", like so:
I can reduce it a bit if I play with the margins, yet it is always there and it is really annoying to get a break in the flow of the book every 30 lines with no reason. What do you think?
I think,I can live with it. it is no problem for me at all. All I need,is to have fullscreen with autoscroll. Even with opened keyboard.

i780 Modify lateral keys of volume to function like Scroll

I've tried to set a new function to volume keys, in order to set them as up-down control, by using program PQzII. It works just fine while program is on run, but when I turn it off new setup dissapear. Problem with this program is that while it's turned on a “strange” white icon appears in the top bar, like on this picture, and also it slows down the phone generally.

Is there any way to turn off the program and to save settings for volume keys? Also if you can recommand any other information for this I'd be greatfull.

anyone can help me with this?
Maybe some other solution?
Maybe You should give a chance to AeButton or SmartKeys?
I know AeButton has option of setting four different functions/apps/whatever to any key on i780. You can keep Volume up/down for short hold and set Page Up/Down and Scroll Up/Down for long hold or double/triple click.
I was using that sollution for some time and it worked well.
Only one drawback - I think its not a free app..

Home Screen Tile Layouts? -- Whats Your's?

Saw a few good example's of this on other forums within XDA, Thought it'd be a good idea to get one going. Might as well get stuck in with my first post as well!
Here's mine to begin with.
What app did you use to get an image of your phones screen?
its built into Windows Phone 8, you press the Windows/Home Button and the power button at the same time and then it takes the picture, go to your photo's and it will be there in the folder "screenshots"

Click to collapse
That exact way above! - Then used an app called 'Phototastic' and stitched everything together.
moved to general, not dev related.

I like to keep mine fairly simple.

Anyone successfully modified touch button behavior?

So lollipop standard behavior of the touch buttons is shoddy to say the least. The recent apps pane is utterly useless, for starters, and I never use the dual window feature.
I'm looking for a way to modify two behaviors: I'd like for my "square" button to function as the menu key upon short press, and a long press of the back button to kill the current app. Obviously I accomplished this in the past on the original G Flex using Gravity Box, but without a working method to install Xposed, I don't see this happening in the near future.
Has anyone had any luck mucking around with system files to change the behavior of the buttons?
im trying to add a menu button as well
GravityBox is working on 5.1.1, XPosedv74 SDK22.
not all GB function is working on G Flex2 , but function to assign a special action to the Nav key is working. eg i'm using double tap Home to take screenshot, double tap Recent to sleep etc.

Rotation
One touch rotation app!
Introduction
I have search everywhere and tried many apps for rotation on M but couldn't find one that I was happy with, most have extra options I don't need or takes to many clicks to rotate, so I made an app for our awesome cm13 ROM but may also work with other Android 6 devices.
The app allows you to rotate back and forward to landscape and portrait modes with only one long press of the search key.
Installation
Just install app normally, once installed activate app by pressing icon in app draw, now you can rotate by just one long press of the search key.
Press the app draw icon again to set inverted landscape mode, press again to reset landscape mode.
What's new
v1.1
No root needed now.
Faster rotation.
v1.2
Minor bugfix.
v1.3
Invert landscape option.
Download
Yeah it works ! Thank you !
