well just asking because I dont know which tablet should I buy. right now Im thinking in the ASUS transformer but im not sure about it because of the lightbleed issues and other stuff
so just give some responses about it and tell me which tab is best !
Top contender at the moment is the Galaxy Tab.
I was going to get a Galaxy Tab 10.1 because it seems to be the best Android tablet at the moment. At the last minute I changed my mind and got an iPad. I know that sounds like blasphemy, but it really is awesome.
*prepares to be flamed*
So if you're going to buy Android, I would go with the Galaxy. I tried a Xoom and it felt a little laggy.
Im out of budget to buy the galaxy tab Im actually not a U.S citizen and the galaxy tab is really expensive here . so my selection is between : motorola xoom , Asus transformer , aser iconia , and thats it

honestly, if it's between those tabs i would get the Acer Iconia...it has the same specs as the Xoom PLUS a usb port for a fraction of the cost...and as i read another response, the Xoom does feel a little bit laggy at first (top reason i rooted and overclocked it to 1.3ghz a core...no more lag) but after an overclock runs great!! but if you're looking for something quick out of the box with no mods, go with the Iconia...fraction of the cost of a Xoom with the same specs and a little more
Well for me i will prefer asus eepad transformer coz u have both laptop & tablet in one function some more u have double the battery 8 hours on tablet & another 8 hours when u dock back to keyboard for total 16 hours juice!!!

Hi, I thinking about getting a tablet. I have no idea where to start.
I would like something that can be rooted/moded or is that unnecessary?
It will need to be reasonably portable but will mostly be used on the sofa.
Any thoughts/advice appreciated.

Asus Transformer ...IMO the best android based tab out there ...Others such as the SS Galaxy Tab 10.1 is also very awesome
(I'm going to pick a TF in about 2 wks )

I'm trying to decide which tablet to get, I don't want the iPad or iPad 2.
I've heard a lot about a number of tablets, such as the Eee Pad Transformer, Galaxy Tab, Archos 101, Acer Iconia etc. etc.
I can't seem to figure out which one offers the best value for money, so I wanted to gather some opinions on which tablet people would say is the best out of the lot? Apple excluded.
Thanks
the best value for money has probably the iconia a500 because it has the same specs as the other HC tablets, but has a full usb port, which the others haven't.
the archos is just too old nowadays(1ghz single core, lower resolution,...)
the transformer is an alternative, but you need the keyboard dock for usb support and the build quality is worse compared to the galaxy tab and the iconia.
the galaxy tab 10.1 is another great tab, but it lacks a hdmi/usb port and the price is too high imo.
Sent out of my Free Candy Van.
I would go for the Acer Iconica, or if you are willing to pay too much, I'd grab the Galaxy Tab.

Bases on your question:
the answer is galaxy tab,lot of source data mention it. But since you add "value for money" in it the answer is change

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is a nice piece of hardware. The new TouchWiz update is actually pretty cool too.
Try Samsung Galaxy II...
The second most popular tablet to iPad2 is the ASUS Transformer.
But, this will change in the future..since many more players will join the game...and the most potential one is Amazon with its hot rumored Amazon Tablet.
Asus is the n1 now but i have an link with prices and spec's @ google; best tabs
i have the iconia A500 and bought it due to value and lower price. I couldnt be happier!
Hi everyone
How Are You!
I hope u r good.
I'm abt to buy a new tablet ( my 1st one ) and i'm little bet confused between transformer 3G ( on top of the list )and Galaxy tab 3G( 10.1 or 8.9 doesn't matter ).
I need your advice abt which to buy.
Does tf 3g has a root?
Do the available roms work on tf 3g?
Does it support USB, External HDD ?
Transformer owners, Does Weight of tf make it difficult to hold on your hands ( Galaxy tab 2 is lighter )?
Thanks in advance
and Sorry for my English

N

For TF101, it is not hard to handle by single hand, normal adult perspective.

Yes the Razorclaw exploit appears to work with the TF101G but it seems you must stay with stock kernals (no overclocking) at least for now. Not a huge deal but something to be aware of.
It may just be the 8.9 gtab, but its really laggy. the gtab 10.1 is also having lots of complaints about the screens (oil slicks/newtons rings). Really think samsung have over killed touchwizz on them aswell. Samsungs lack of support for the tabs is shocking and as a previous 7" gtp1000 owner its one of the main reasons i changed to the Tf.
I'd rather pay a small amount extra for a tf with the keyboard dock rather than the 2 gtabs - its much better value imo with excellent connectivity...........the Samsungs have nothing really, hence the units estate slimness.

Thanks friends, Really appreciate your help
I think TF is the best choice
but regarding the size, many reviews abt tf on youtube, i see it's bigger than enough.
Is it really that big or it seems to be big ( i mean in realty, it's different from that on youtube )
I dont think its that big at all. Size wise its the same as every other 10" tablet out there(acer, ipad 1, sammy, knockoffs).
Weight though...It's a tad on the heavier side of this class. The "sturdiness" more than makes up for that though. Dropped this thing numerous times on the same floors where ive seen ipads crack and an acer a500 dent and i have one TIMY ding about the size of a pencil tip.
I was worried about the honeycomb lag compared to ipads but after root and a new rom(revolver). Happy as can be. This thing is around me more than my Evo 3D
get the TF. You wont be disappointed.
Why is it that everyone thinks their very obvious Q&A post should be considered General. Does it mean that they misunderstand the definition of the word question?
I understand that there can be a language gap as many users on XDA (especially this forum) are not native-English speakers. But the rules are the rules - they say "SEARCH BEFORE POSTING." Pretty clear!

Hey guys,
I first wanted to say, I have heard nothing but great things about this site and the people of these forums. That’s what brought me here today!
About two weeks ago I bought a Nook Tablet. I didn’t really want a full tablet because of the price and only wanted to do a few things with it. After playing around with it for several hours I realized that I had to pay for apps I got free on my phone, I was able to sideload a few apps but didn’t block automatic updates so now my Nook is running 1.4.1 or whatever it is, so now I have to use the Nook app store.
So this leads me to my real question. What is a good android tablet I can watch Netflix, play some basic games ( Angry Bird, Farm Story, etc ) , read books using ( nook and kindle apps ) and have the ability to play around and not be so limited.
I was looking at the Samsung - Galaxy Tab 8.9 and the Samsung - Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus.
Are these two good tablets? Sadly I haven’t had a chance to play around with them in person yet and only have until tomorrow to return my Nook. I was very happy with the speed of the Nook Tablet so if these are just as fast or faster then ill be happy. Please help me out guys, I’m open to other tablets etc. I’m just looking to keep it under $400 if possible.
Thanks you so much guys,
Glen
Nobody?
You could root your nook tablet then you would get the android market.
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1354487
I have the Acer iconia a500 tablet and it is great. It can do movies and apps like Netflix great. Plus plenty of games.. and books.
Also you can get them for around 330$
I would also suggest rooting your nook to allow for the android market.

Samsung 7.0+ is the best 7 inch tablet avlible.
Kindle fire is great for a lot of stuff, and crazy cheap, but isnt really android, its just Android based. Still, if it fits your needs its great.
Cheapest full android (honeycomb) 7" tablet is the Acer a100
Good facts, and straight to the point. If I could thank you on the app I would..

HP TouchPad is a 10" tablet that will run CM7 and dual boot webOS. It ships with webOS. ICS is almost ready, just tying up loose ends I guess. They run ~$220 on eBay and online classifieds. 1.2Ghz dual core, 1GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage. Check out the TouchPad forum, very active. The TouchPad has sold more than any other tablet, except the iPad. They have been discontinued, but there is a huge user and dev base, so they are far from dead.
Sent from my Galaxy S II (i777)
just want to point out, HP touchpad is a 9" tab.
and if you want cheap, you may want to look at the Archos 70b full android honeycomb (soon to be ICS) including front facing camera and android market for $199
Vizio Tablet..
Has anyone found a way to root this tablet after the 1.5 update? Or knows how to downgrade it so i can root it.. Thanks
At the opposite end of the spectrum, what is the best, most powerful, most beautiful Tab out there, or to be released soon? I got a B-Day in April and want my wife to get me one, I am drawn towards the Galaxy, and have the SII as a phone, but would love to see the communities opinions...
the trasformer prime 2.0 <3
best by far.
Hey guys
I'm from outside the US and looking for a nice tablet for under $200 (yay 3rd-world-country currency restrictions ). Now, I've had an old HTC Magic, then a Motorola Defy and now a ZTE V970M. They're all great phones, with lots of development and nice features, and I'm looking for a tablet that I can get from Amazon with the same or similar features.
Basically, I'm looking for this:
A tablet that is small (7" is enough, I wouldn't mind 10" though) with a capacitive screen (or responsive enough, anyways) with some development other than the stock ROM and Android 4.0+, since I love to make ROMs for android devices. Also, I'm planning to use it to connect it to HDMI TVs, so an HDMI output would be a big bonus. I would also try to use it as a laptop so allowing connectivity to any of those case-with-keyboard things (through bluetooth or USB) is a need. I don't care much for battery life, as long as it can be rooted I can work my way around to make it save battery like hell
Here are the options I've looked at:
Around 180$ & 168$ respectively: Galaxy Tab 2 ( http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galax...ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1368472318&sr=1-1 ) and Galaxy Tab Plus ( http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galax...f=sr_1_19?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1368472318&sr=1-19 ) but they don't have HDMI output, not even with an external converter, I was wondering if that's true?
119$: The Coby MID7065-8 ( http://www.amazon.com/Coby-7-Inch-A...ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1368472318&sr=1-4 ) looks good but... it's Coby :/ and also, it doesn't seem to have a CyanogenMod-compatible CPU, and I don't wanna be locked to ICS forever.
165$: The Acer Iconia looks *awesome* ( http://www.amazon.com/Acer-A500-10S...f=sr_1_22?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1368472318&sr=1-22 ) but it's Android 3.0, is it a good buy if I can upgrade it to CM 10 or a stock 4.0-4.1-4.2 ?
174$: This Galaxy Tab SCH-i800 looks weird, is it any good? ( http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galax...f=sr_1_50?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1368472705&sr=1-50 )
104$!!!: This SANEI looks awesome too ( http://www.amazon.com/Android-Scree...f=sr_1_71?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1368472813&sr=1-71 ) but I wonder if I can upgrade it to more than ICS/JB ? it has a Cortex A9 and I've heard there's some compatible CM around for Cortex chips, so would it be a good buy?
$199: The Kindle Fire HD seems like a good $199 option ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1555100222&pf_rd_i=507846 ) BUUUUUT... it's a reader, and I've had experiences with the B&N Nook Simple Touch that I don't wanna repeat, such as having a very locked firmware and not having all of the working features if I upgrade to CM or something similar :/
Any tips guys? I really need the advice, as I need to make a choice by tomorrow maximum
Thanks in advance!
